This is mostly focusing on his personality, so I don't think there's any big spoilers in here...

Okay, when Kokichi was first introduced, I really thought that he would be a fun character. He gave off sort of similar vibes to Monokuma, and his sprites are among my favorites from V3. And, yeah, he started off alright, but after a while, his entire personality was clearly introduced as him being a liar. I mean, he literally witnessed a murder and knows the killer for a fact in one of the trials, and nobody believes him at first because he lies so much. He really gets annoying after a while, and he often digs his own grave with his lies.

He's sort of useful in trials, often pointing out important facts for a struggling player, but that's usually tossed aside whenever another character jumps in, such as Miu. And, don't get me wrong, Miu and Kokichi's subtle rivalry during the trials is hilarious, and I absolutely love it, but it can be heavily distracting at times.

Something he does having going for him, though, is his outright apathy and disregard towards the other characters. He's sort of like a toned-down Monokuma, going out of his way to make their lives difficult for his own enjoyment. Kokichi is also disturbingly careless about the executions, never really taking the culprit's death or their final words seriously. This factor in his character is interesting early in the game, but it's mainly what made me hate him after a certain trial.

Honestly, he's just a villain who's not the villian. And, I dunno, apparently he plays some big role later in the game and sacrifices himself or something, but all he ever does is lie and joke around, with a slightly sinister and serious side with more lies. Kokichi's annoying, he's predictable because he's unpredictable, and he's overall just kinda...bleh.
