Randomly, Russia nukes the U.S. like they said they would in the Cold War

Ohio was hit and my family was put in a refugee camp in some woods in Virginia

My mom had disappeared we had no idea where she was and we were fearing that she had died when on her way to the refugee camp

My dad was the one left to take care of us, and since he was military we got extra stuff, which I found unfair to others but whatever

I stayed to myself in the camp, scared out of my mind wondering where my mom was until a girl came up to me and asked if I was alright.

We soon became friends and during one night, we were sitting alone, watching the stars on the outskirts of the camp and we kissed. She left hurriedly blushing and I was still sitting there with my hand where her cheek once was.

The next day I found her and she told me that she didn't know what she was doing and that we should just stay friends, which I agreed with, though I did feel a little hurt and disappointed.

Like a week later the camp got word of Ohio was now safe to live in and I started crying and went and found my friends from school and we all hugged and we're happy

I then found the girl and kissed her in an excited frenzy in front of everybody and as we pulled away I saw in the distance my mom coming into the camp and I pushed the girl out of the way and jetted for my mom and hugged her, sobbing with my dad and little brother coming in behind me.

And thats when I woke up.

I calculated that Ohio residents were there for about 2+ years

It was so weird
