Aurore is not sure what her best friend, Robert sees in her.  She is just glad they are best friends.  The two have been since she was six years old.  She remembers how she met him as if it were yesterday.   She was at school on the playground.  She fell off the swing.  

       Robert came over and offered her a hand.  He helped her up.  He smiled as he did.  He told her, "I am Robert and I am seven."  He was so very kind to her. 

      Aurore had been happy to make a new friend.  "I am Aurore and I am six."  She smiled even more.  Ever since that day they had best friends!

      Today, Aurore wonders, since it is the anniversary of the day they met what gift he might bring her!  Every year since they met he has given her a present on this day.  She has no idea why he bothers to do so.  She believes it is just a kind gesture on his part.  She has no reason to think otherwise.

     Robert feels nervous. He gets up.  He gets ready for the day.  As he grabs up the roses, the earrings, and other things he intends to bring to Aurore he hopes she will like them.  He did try so hard to pick up the items he thought would be best for the anniversary of the date they first met.  It was forever a special memory to him and would remain so.  It was on this special day ten years ago on Aurore's  sixteenth birthday that he feel in love with her.   Now, Aurore is twenty-six years old and he twenty-seven. 

      Aurore looks forward to Robert's visit. She can hardly wait to see him again.  She knows she just saw him yesterday, but she still longs to see him anyway.  It is her birthday, and it is always nice to spend time with him.  She feels special when he is around.  She wonders why it is not as if he has ever done that much for her.  She smiles at the thought of his arrival.  

    Robert rings her doorbell.   Aurore answers it.  

    "Hey, Robert!"  Aurore says.

   "Hey,  Aurore !"  Robert says.

   "Robert, why is the matter?"  Aurore says. She can hear the tremble in his voice.

   "Happy Birthday!  Happy Anniversary to the day we became best friends!"  Robert says. He hands her all the gifts he has brought with him this time.

   "Wow, so many gifts this time,"  Aurore says.

   "Yes, well  it is your birthday and our special day!"  Robert says.

   "Thank you!"  Aurore says.

  "Your welcome!"  Robert says.

   "Robert?"  Aurore says.

   "Yes?"  Robert says.

   "Why are you so nervous?  It is only me."  Aurore says.

    "I  know, but I do not how to tell you,"  Robert says.

    "Tell me, what?"  Aurore ask.

    "You are beautiful, kind and amazing!  I  love you! "  Robert says.  

     Aurore gives him a hug and he hugs her back.  She is thrilled at the news!  She feels her heart fill overjoyed at the news!  

      "Robert, I love you too! "  Aurore says.

       "Aurore, my love will you be my wife?"  Robert ask.

     "Sure, I will!"  Aurore says.

     Robert places a shiny gold band with a single diamond in the middle on her left ring finger.  He kisses her!  Aurore immediately returns the kiss.  She is more than happy to be engaged on her birthday which also falls on the anniversary she met her Robert!

     Robert smiles at his fiance.  The two decide to get married next June!  A spring wedding with lots of lovely pink and red roses!   It will be a huge celebration with their family.  

      "Robert where shall go to celebrate?"   Aurore ask.

    "How about you decide?"  Robert says.

      "Ok, then let us go eat some rice, and Japanese food at that nice Japanese place down the road. "   Aurore says.

     "The one where they cook the food at the table and give you a nice salad to go with everything else?"   Robert ask her.

     "Yes, that is exactly the one I mean, Robert.  It is an expensive place, but a lovely one too.  The food is good and the servers are so pleasant.  I  think it  is the best place for the occasion."  Aurore says.

      "I must agree this would be a good idea.  If that is where you would like to eat, then that is where we will go!  Only the best for my sweetheart!"  Robert remarks.

      Aurore laughs as Robert escorts her out to the car.  She smiles as they head to the restaurant.  As they arrive she continues to grin.  When they go inside, she is glad they have a table all to themselves.  This sure makes the whole day more unique and romantic for them both.  

     The waiter arrives and ask what they wish to eat.  Aurore orders the chicken and shrimp, Robert asks for the steak and chicken.  The waiter nods his head and says, " Sounds like an excellent choice for such a lovely couple!"   He can tell by the gleam in their eyes that the young man and woman seated at table number seven is here to celebrate something very special indeed.  He smiles and nods his head a lot at them.  He prepares the salads first and makes sure the lady gets her ranch dressing on the side, and the man gets his thousand island on the side.  Then, he gets to work on chopping up an onion and makes a volcano out of it for entertainment purposes only.   Next, he cooks the rice, chicken and shrimp, the rest of the chicken and some steak as well.  He can tell as their eyes are wide open and they clap they are really happy to be here together at this private table.   He finishes and bows his head.  "Any sauces for you two?  Ginger, white sauce or soy?"  

    "I will take one Ginger and two white sauces, please."  Aurore answers.

    "I will take one Ginger, one white sauce and one soy, please,"  Robert replies.

     The waiter pours the sauces out into tiny bowls and hands them over to them.

      He wipes off the area in front of them and walks off since he has made sure they have the food served to them.  

     Aurore and Robert both enjoy the delicious food!  It really was the best way ever to end the day together!  After the meal, they were both full and chose not to order any dessert.  Robert drove Aurore home where he kissed her good night on the mouth before he headed back to his place!
