I was held mercilessly against the ground by my foe. My destination was just in reach- yet I could not proceed further. I cursed over and over as I could barely move forward toward my goal. However, my adversary wouldn't let me slip by so easily. In desperation, I clawed the ground- hoping to propel myself further at least an inch more. Even if it was a millimeter it was progress. I was willing to go inch by inch. Just as all seemed well, I felt my chest press harder against the cold, wooden floor that provided no merciful warmth for my suffering soul. I felt life escaping my lips as the air seemed to be squeezed out of my lungs. Bit by bit, inch by inch, I persevered onwards towards my goal. I refused to be stopped. Nature has called me forth as I relentlessly pursued my goal- the peak of the mountain! Man's ultimate strength of greed, lust, and hunger filled each and every portion of my pathetic body as I slowly managed to stand-
Stand in front of the refrigerator.
I open up the gateways to heaven.
Only to realize.
The piece of cake I was saving was missing.
I turn around- trying to locate the missing morsel. And I saw it.
"This is a good-looking cake. Not too much cream, spongy-like feel, and the kiwi goes great with it!"
"Stap!"
"Oh... was this yours?"
For the first time in forever, I cursed my immortal enemy- laziness.
