"Let's get married."

Jack looked at Katherine from his spot next to her on the couch in one of the rooms of the Pulitzer Mansion. It had been a few days since her cast had been removed and she'd been cleared to walk without crutches, and she'd since decided that this meant she was completely fine, ignoring the fact that she tensed up every time a door opened, or if someone touched her unexpectedly.

"You already asked me that, Kath, remember? I said yes."

She shook her head. "No, I mean, let's get married now."

"Now? Like, right now?"

"Or tomorrow. That would give us enough time to find a priest."

"Ace - "

"Jack, if I learned anything throughout this whole ordeal, it's that I never want to be away from you again. I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life by your side."

"I love you, too."

"So?"

Jack grinned. "Yeah, okay. Let's get married."

Katherine grinned back at him before nearly flinging herself into his arms and kissing him.

oOo

The next afternoon found Katherine's family and the newsies all in a small church watching a wedding that probably would've made Mrs. Pulitzer faint, had she still been alive.

Katherine was wearing her mother's wedding dress, and Jack was wearing an inexpensive suit that Davey had helped him pick out. Katherine's bridesmaids were her two sisters, Constance and Edith, and Jack's groomsmen were Davey and Crutchie. They did, however manage to find an Episcopalian priest. That was Pulitzer's one condition if they wanted him to help pull the ceremony together on such short notice. It had to be an Episcopalian wedding.

Jack and Katherine didn't care though. All they cared about was the fact that they were getting married.

"Katherine, will you have this man to be your husband; to live together in the covenant of marriage? Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"

Katherine smiled. "I will."

"Jack, will you have this woman to be your wife; to live together in the covenant of marriage? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her, in sickness and in health; and, forsaking all others, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?"

Jack didn't answer right away, just kept smiling softly at Katherine, who was resisting the urge to laugh. Davey nudged Jack, who turned to look at him.

"What?" Davey gestured to the priest. "Oh. Yes, I will." He gave Katherine a sheepish look, but she just grinned at him.

oOo

That evening, as they checked in their hotel, preparing to spend their first night as husband and wife, Katherine just kept looking at Jack and realizing how safe she felt with him. How much she loved him.

At one point, he caught her looking at him, and he smiled at her. "What?"

She just shook her head, smiling back. "I love you."

AN: Well, that's it! Thank you guys so much for reading this, it's the longest multi-chapter story I've written, and I've had so much fun with it!
