Can someone please explain to me why people will write one-shots of two characters from whatever fandom you can think of, and they're making out or whatever, but the thing is...

THEY ARE FAMILY RELATED?!

And I'm not talking about husband and wife, I'm talking about brother-brother, sister-sister, brother-sister, cousin-cousin, that kind of deal.

I mean, what the heck?

Why do some people write stuff like that?

It's just, I can't just, why?!

To this day, I can't even wrap my head around it.

I've been hearing and seeing stuff like this for a long time now. Back in my early years of middle school when I was hugely involved in the TMNT fandom, I found oneshots where people shipped the Turtles (mostly Leo & Raph), as a couple.

And I'm not talking about the family or brotherly-sibling love or that cute stuff.

I'm talking full on making out and onward.

Just... Why?

How do you guys even come up with this stuff?

Leo and Raph are BROTHERS!

Do you really think they would do something like that to each other?

No!

Why? Because they're siblings and it's just weird, and if they did that it would just be so awkward.

And I'm not the only one either. There are some people out there who have the same idea as me. 

Years ago someone wrote/drew a TMNT fan comic.

I can't find it nowadays, but I remember seeing it a lot so I remember what it looked like and what it was about.

Anyways, Donnie is on his computer, searching up stuff on the internet when he calls his brothers to come in and check out something he found. Donnie explains to them that he found a website where people post fanfiction about them.

The brothers get excited so they scroll through the site and stumble upon a title that catches their attention;

Leo X Raph - Yaoi 

Now the thing is, the Turtles have NO IDEA what Yaoi means. Mikey actually thought it was a battlecry, which I'll admit, was probably the funniest part of the comic.

Raph thinks the X means its some kind of action scene like a fight, so Donnie clicks on the link and the four brothers read away.

Only as they progress through the story, their faces change from interested to down right terrified.

Leo was so freaked out that when he placed his hand on Raph's shoulder, the red bandanna ninja glanced down at it, his face turned red and he screamed, shoved Leo's off of his shoulder and ran out of the room.

... Do you see where I'm going with this now?

And it doesn't just happen in the TMNT fandom.

Anybody here a fan of Gravity Falls?

There are people out there who write fanfiction that ship Dipper and Mabel as a full on couple.

In fact it's gotten so bad, that people are desperately trying to get rid of everything involving that shipping from the Gravity Falls Fan Club group on Facebook.  

Even the shows creator Alex Hirsch agrees that that shipping should be destroyed! I'm not even kidding!

I should know, for a while I was in that club but I left shortly after un-knowingly stumbled upon a animation where Dipper kissed Mabel, freaked out about it, but Mabel grabbed Dipper and told him to keep going. 

If you didn't get it before, do you understand it now?!

And just earlier today, I go on Wattpad and I find out people are shipping Tadashi and Hiro from Disney's Big Hero 6 as a couple!

Like, WHAT?! 

Hiro is like a kid and Tadashi was a college dude. What the heck?!

Is this just me? Does anybody else feel weirded out by this? 

But seriously, can anybody actually tell me why people write this kind of stuff? Is there something that I don't know about when it comes to shipping that I'm missing out on apparently?

Cause I just, sorry I can't okay? I'm so done with this!
