Moth got up and stretched.

"Quick, come on. Your ceremony will start soon." Foxgust urged.

"I wouldn't miss that for anything." Moth meowed, being half pushed by Foxgust to the meeting.

"Sister! Sister, guess what?" An apprentice leapt forwards to Foxgust.

"Yes?"  Foxgust asked.

"Actually, I didn't do anything. I was hoping you'd introduce me to the rogue." The apprentice answered.

"Oh." Foxgust glanced at Moth.

"My name is Moth, but it will probably change soon if I live in a Clan." Moth meowed.

"I'm Driftpaw." The apprentice replied.

"Let all cats old enough to swim gather under the wet rock for a Clan meeting." Pipitstar yowled. "Today, we have a rogue joining us. She will be known as Mothpaw. Foxgust, I hope you will pass down all you know to this apprentice. May StarClan light your paths."

"I guess some apprentices can be pretty big, huh? How old are you?" Driftpaw asked.

"I'm... I think I'm twenty six moons old." Mothpaw answered.

"Oh. That's funny, then." Driftpaw replied.

"Yeah." Mothpaw padded over to Foxgust. "When do we get to train?"

"Now. Come with me." Foxgust replied, leading her out of camp.

The dragonflies flew around the reeds and the pond bugs darted across the water while otters rested on their backs, floating on the surface.

"You know how to swim, right? Well, how else did you get here..." Foxgust asked.

"Uh... I drowned more than I swam to get here." Mothpaw replied.

"Well, I'd better teach you then." Foxgust meowed. "I'll demonstrate.."

While Foxgust demonstrated Mothpaw turned around.

Raven sat watching with the most hurt face Mothpaw had ever seen. Thymefeather was there, too. They looked surprised.

"Well. There's Moth." Thymefeather growled. "I'll be off to my Clan..."

Raven sat and stared for a moment. Then turned around and headed to the hills.

I guess that's just how I am... Can't do anything right.

"...With confidence." Finished Foxgust, leaping out of the water. "Were you listening?"

Mothpaw stared at the place her friends had been.

"Why are you crying? Are you okay?" Foxgust asked.

Here it was. Was Mothpaw going to stay, or tell Foxgust that she wants to go back? Mothpaw didn't want to go back, though... Not there. With the cats who called her their friend. But I am their friend...

"It's fine." Mothpaw replied absent mindedly to Foxgust.
