Chapter 16 : The world around is yellow...

While leaving... Avni and Neil met for some time. Exchanged good night's and hugs and kisses before they unwillingly parted only with a promise to meet the next day and 2 challenges for both to fulfill.

The next day was a Bright one indeed for each person of the Khanna family and the Pareikh house. Both the bunglows were decked up for the big fat Punjabi wedding... But here was the bride herself who was still asleep in her bed... snuggling onto the pillow and comforter.

"Avni...bacha...ab tak nahi uthi. Hey Bhagwan... Iss ladki ka kya karu mei..?! Utho bacha... Shaadi hai aaj tumhari..." Neela worriedly tried to awaken her darling daughter by pulling the curtains of the windows aside to let the sun's bright rays awake her kid.

"Maa... Sone do na please..." Avni mumbled and pulled over the comforter on her head, hiding her face from the sun rays.

"Sone du...? Uff Avni...bacha...utho...Haldi rasam bhi toh shuru karni hai na..." Neela pulled the comforter off her while Avni's eyes shot open the moment she heard the word "haldi" and she sat up on the bed, a slight smile appeared on her lips and faded away.

"Achaa...so madam bhool gayi ki aaj haldi hai.." Neela teased looking at Avni's flushed face.

"Hmm woh nai...maa...woh...kal raat der se soyi na.. issiliye jaldi nai uth payi..." Avni clarified while she folded the comforter simultaneously.

"Ha haan janti hu... Ab phone pe itni der raat tak romance karoge toh yahi hoga na..." Neela chuckled as she teased Avni.

"Maa...aap bhi na..." Avni turned pink and tried to look away from her mom while she got down the bed and walked upto her cupboard to take her clothes.

"Hehe...jaldi se ready ho jao Avni... vaha pe toh Neil ka haldi shuru ho bhi chuka hoga..." Neela urged her as Avni's nodded and walked out of the room.

Avni's face lit up at the thought of Haldi...one of the challenges they agreed upon last night was about this ritual. She instantly reached to her phone and took it in her hands only to find 3 what's app messages already.

"Good morning wifey :) jaanta hu abhi abhi uthi ho... 😉 "

"Jaldi se ready ho jao... Aa raha hu..."

"I love you Avni...😘"

Avni's eyes gleamed and her body flushed at the last message... This was the first time her man had sent her an ILY text and it had all the capabilities to make her go weak on her knees. 

She replied back with a simple "Good morning Neil... 😊"

She then thought for a few moments as she blushed again thinking of Neil and sent another text "I love you too Neil... 😘"

After sending the message she smiled to herself and left to get ready...

Khanna House

"Oh gods... haldi shuru karni hai aur mera supercop Tillu ghar se gayab hai...kaha chala gaya yeh ladka... Oye Tilluuu..." Shwetha screamed at the top of her voice as she searches the whole house for Neil.

"Hey Mata Rani...meinu utha le isse pehle mei iss Madonna ki shor ki wajah se mar jau... Shwetha !! Ruk..." Bebe cursed her fate for having to groom her daughter in law every now and then.

"Eh eh ji Bebe..." Shwetha said as she walked near her.

"Kyu aise gala phad ke cheek rhi hai ? Tillu ghar mei hota toh ab tak mil jata na... Zahir si baat hai ki voh ghar mei nahi hain... Bahar Gaya Hoga, aa jayega.. tu ja ke sare arrangements dekh.." Bebe instructed Shwetha and left to check on the kitchen.

"Arre haa yeh tillu aa jayega par arrangements..? Uff atleast aaj toh Bebe se daant nai khani mujhe...dekhti hu.." Shwetha mumbled to herself and left.

After a quick shower and putting on her yellow lehenga and choli...Avni was in front of her dressing table, trying to wear her ear rings when Neil jumped into the room through her room's window.

"Uff... Finally !" Neil heaved a sigh of relief as he stood on his feet after jumping in.

"Arre Neil...Dhyan se..." Avni turned behind to see him and walked swiftly towards him.

Neil smiled and said "Bina duppate ki...achi lagti rhi ho..." He smirked as his eyes toured Avni from top to toe... While Avni took few moments to realise what he had said...she shied away and grabbed her dupatta as she let it settle on her right shoulder and before she could take the other end of the duppatta...

Neil walked upto her and hugged from behind... "Mei pehnau ?" He whispered in her ears...she smiled slightly and nodded a yes.

Neil still holding her from one hand, took the duppatta's end from her and slowly brought it around her hips and tucked it in her lehenga near her waist... He laundered his fingers on her bare waist after tucking it also.

"Neil..." Avni whispered.

"Hmm..." is all Neil could reply as he had shut his eyes and was relishing the moment.

"Agar hum aise hi rahe na... Humari poori family yaha aa jayegi aur life long Hume iss baat ka tease karte rahenge..." Avni chuckled and moved apart from him making him frown a bit.

"Avni..." Neil said as he pouted.

"Ssshhh... Kal subah toh bach gaye Neil. Ab kya karoge agar Neela ma ne dekh liya toh..." Avni spoke but before she could complete Neil shut her mouth by his palm and pinned her to the wall behind.

" Ab tum ssshhh wifey... Kuch zyada hi bolti ho tum..." Neil mumbled.

"Hmmm hmmm hmmm" Avni hummed to say something but couldnt as he had shut her mouth by his palm.

"Ssshhh bola na... Ruko...mera challenge complete karne ka waqt hai ab.." he smirked as he took out a palm size box from the pocket of his vest coat...he removed his palm from Avni's lips and opened the box.

Neil's eyes gleamed with excitement where as Avni's eyes became a bit moist... Neil sensed that his sherni was about to shed tears of happiness but today he didn't want her to have even happy tears so he immediately places soft pecks on both her eyes not letting the tears drop down.

He shook his head in negation and pressed his lips on her forehead... She smiled. He dipped his fingers in the box and rubbed them on her cheek... "Shadi toh pehle bhi ki humne...par haldi pehli baar...so it was bound to be a special one for us...hai na wifey ?" He winked.

"Hmm...thank you Neil... for...for... everything " Avni smiled and hugged him in return.

He kept aside the box and wrapped his arms around her waist tightly.

" Oye...meine toh challenge puri Karli...sab se pehle tumhe haldi lagane ki...par mujhe ? Mujhe nai lagaogi kya ?" Neil whispered into her ears as he buried his face in her neck.

Avni smiled and held his head in both her palms as she brought his face infront of her... She rubbed her nose against his and gently moved her cheek next to his cheek and brushed against it such that the haldi on her cheek transits to his cheek.

Neil was pleasantly surprised by this gesture of his lady...he smiled and even blushed a little at how his Avni was showering him with her love.

Avni then moved back her face and placed a chaste kiss on his cheek...it was yet another surprise for Neil. He felt like he was the luckiest on earth that moment to have Avni as his wife.

He lowered his head and smiled...while Avni moved back from his embrace and said "acha ab challenge khatam so leave..." she said in an authoritative tone which made Neil chuckle.

"Ji Maharani...ab Hume Joru ka ghulam banne se koi nai rok sakta..." Neil said in an animated manner as he chuckled while he earned a hit on his shoulder from Avni...

"Dramebaaz... Jao...mummy ji pareshan ho rhi hogi..." Avni giggled and urged him to leave.

Neil gave her a hug and slid down yet again through the pipes !

Khanna House

"Tillu...oh tillu...tu aa gaya... Thanks gods...time se pehle nahi aata toh mujhe daant padti Bebe se...Hein ? Oye ruk... Tera gaal  yellow yellow kyu dikh rha hai mujhe ?" Shwetha started off as soon as Neil had entered the house.

"Mom...kya yellow yellow pakad k bait gayi aap..? Time ho raha hai...chalooo..." Neil skilfully dodged her question while he wrapped his arm around his mom's shoulder and took her inside the hall not giving her a moment to speak further.

The haldi ceremony began at both the houses in a grand style. First at the Khanna house, everyone including Nanno, Ali, Neela applied haldi to Neil. The boys even played holi with the haldi...running after each other to smear the haldi on their faces. Later on everyone except Shwetha went to the Pareikh house for the Haldi ceremony of Avni.

Here also everyone enjoyed a lot with dancing to the Dhol and relishing the sumptous special sweets prepared by Ali for his best friends wedding.

After the haldi ceremony was done and everybody got busy with the preparations for the wedding that was to be held the same evening...the bride and the groom were given rest and we're strictly prohibited from engaging themselves in helping the others in preparations.

And a special rule was set for both of them that they were not supposed to meet until they were brought to the mandap.

Neil and Avni had agreed to their rules and conditions but they had their own rules for another challenge was yet to be fulfilled and this time it was by the bride herself !
