Before we start , I would want you readers to check my new book ,Heart demands my queen . Because it would be the alternate version of Reaching out to him .Kindly read it and give your reviews:)

He saw her laying down on the bed after switching of the lights . The surrounding seemed too silent , he could actually hear his slow breath which turned in and out alternatively . For some reasons this quite atmosphere didn't go well with him ,but no way ...past few days have ended like this only. She would start a conversation which would be led by her alone still, she wouldn't give up . A talkative wife he had ! She would share everything with him ,be it the small fights with her mother or the pranks she played on gauri in college. The one crazy girl who had the ability to clip off his heart towards her . She and a silent atmosphere was something which  would be the last thing he could believe in. How badly he wished to erase that tragedic day from their life . Only if it hadn't happen to occur ,it would have been his best birthday, spending all day with her. Wait ,she did get something for me ,where is it ?

Got to ask her,has she slept? He bent towards her and saw her to have been awake still .

He thought for a countless times before asking,

S- vo ,I couldn't find the gift. Where is it?(he asked hesitantly)

She gulped deep ,

A- nahi chahiye tho kyun ?

She whispered within herself ,

S- haan ?

A- I'm so disturbing you right ? I'm sorry ...for everything, I won't embarrass you anymore. Sorry ,

She spoke clutching a pillow close to her chest ,while he looked at her with null reaction as he really didn't know what she meant. He was about to ask her something when he noticed her to have hid beneath the duvet. Maybe she's sleepy, he shrugged off and thought of asking it afterwards .

Annika and gauri were on their way to the class ,when they noticed some commotion at the opposite block .

" someone call for the fire brigade! "

One among the students shouted ,

G- I think there's a fire accident in that lab ,

And soon something striked annika ,making her look horrified.

A- it's his department block ,what if ?

She said with a shivering voice ,

G- don't imagine things annika ,chalo dekthey hain

Both hurried to the other block. Annika was shocked to find his classmates surrounded outside the lab ,but he was found nowhere .She asked about Om to a student, and got to know that he was at the staff room for some reason.

A- shh...shivaay ,shivaay kahan hai ?

Her voice was merely heard as she could barely speak due to her shivering voice .

" Three more students are inside the server room , it's fully fired out there "

One answered and annika looked at him with wide eyes as his statement literally shut down her entire self . Her whole face was pouring sweat , and her lips quivered to move .

With all the wires and circuits getting heated up in fire, shivaay sensed the room surrounded by smoke .

" Help ! Help ! "

He saw his classmates Ragini and Sushmi shouting from the other side . He somehow crossed the way and reached upto them . He helped them out of the server room and both managed to reach outside . He was about to rush out when he went void of any air which suffocated him more . Being hypersensitive to such hazardous smokes ,he felt it too difficult to breath and soon lost his conscious.

Annika saw Ragini and another girl running out from the lab .

A- Rag ...Ragini , shiv ...where's shivaay ?

R- I don't know, he's inside ...inside the server room .

She answered and started coughing . And immediately annika made her way inside ,while gauri held her back .

G- what are you doing ?

A- he's inside gauri , how can I ?

She answered with her tears which had already welled up ready to drop down . She jerked off her hands and ran inside .

G- annika? Annika ! ( she shouted)

She broke the glass stand and took the fire extinguisher along and moved inside the server room with spraying it all through her way . Though the entire fire wasn't been put off she made it possible to make her way out from fire , and unfortunately the Co2 was emptied in that cylinder by now . She threw it away ,

With witnessing the white smoke settling down through the room she saw him lying down unconscious round the corner. The heated surrounding there never helped as she could feel her skin icing down ,with her palms already leaking drops after watching him in that state .

A- shivaay !

Shrieking his name ,she rushed and took his head on her lap.

A- shivaay ,shivaay ! shivaay utto na ...shivaay

She shouted patting his cheecks continuously , but there was no response from him making her breath halt .

A- shivaay ...utto !

She noticed the fire peaking out again and thought of moving out first. With her shawl around him she tied him along with her and knotted around her waist . Somehow she managed to balance him along, like piggybacking and rushed out .

By the time the fire brigade had arrived and shivaay was taken to the first aid clinic inside the campus.

"He is fine now, maybe he is sensitive to smoke so his throat has been infected"

The Dr informed ,

Om - usse hosh aagaya?

He asked being worried while gauri stood beside ,consoling annika who was still crying .

"Not yet ,2 hrs lagega but don't worry, he's fine"

Annika sat on the chair kept beside the bed ,at this instant there was nothing she could think off rather him .

Situations like these just has the capacity to bring our extreme strength . Because now she wasn't sure whether she could lift such weight . But at that moment she knew she could definitely do that , because his life was all that she preferred . Her shivaay !

She looked at him before taking his hand into her's and let out a thank you prayer to God .

After sometime

G- annika ,mam is asking us to leave to class.

A- I ain't coming anywhere,

She tightened her grip on his hand .

G- I understand annika, but the principal is shouting there . She permitted Om to stay here ,

A- I'm his wife gauri! Mein nahi tho kaun hoga yahan? I'm going to tell her ,do hell with her classes.

Annika was in  full mode of fighting ,

Om - annika ,annika listen . Tum jao, I'll take care .Koi problem nahi chahiye ab ,

He insisted and she shook her head ,

A- nahi Om ,

Om- annika ,you heard the Dr right ? He's alright now ,

He somehow managed to convince her .

A- fine ,chalthi hoon .

She said half heartedly and headed near him. She bent forward leaving a tender kiss on his forehead and ruffled his hair .

She moved to leave but turned back and looked at Om ,he nodded assuring her .

( Om doesn't know that annika was the one who saved shivaay )

Om noticed his eyes moving slightly,

Om - shivaay ,shivaay kaise ho?

He asked holding his hand ,while he nodded before replying.

S- I'm fine Om ,muje kuch nahi huwa .... Hamara friends?

He muttered in a low voice ,

Om- sab ,teek hai .

Just then his mobile rang flashing choti maa ,he excused and went out to attend the call . Had to convince his pinky maa now ,

Shivaay got up and walked forward to find Ragini with her friend at the other room .She jumped out from the bed at once she saw him there ,

R- shivaay ? You're fine right ? I was so worried,

She pretended ,

S- yeah Ragini ,I'm alright. Tum kaisi ho ?

She nodded in response ,

S- uhh, who helped me out ? As far as I remember, I fainted inside .How did I ?

Hearing this she thought for a while and smirked ,

R- actually tumne muje bahar push kiya na ,uske baadh tum behosh hogayi thi . Then I was so scared and I didn't know what to do, I somehow tried and dragged you out .

Saying this she bent down to hide her grin ,she pretended to be his only saviour making use of the situation and he who had no idea of what actually happened believed it .

S - thank you Ragini ,

He smiled gratefully.

He just now entered inside his home and soon he was caged between pinky and shakthi who had now hid him within them in a tight hug .

P- shivaay ...beta ,kaise ho tu. Kuch huwa tho nahi na tuje?

She rushed her words hurriedly and started checking for wounds .

S- mom, I'm fine ! Dekiye ,kuch nahi huwa hai, don't cry mom . Bol rahi hoon na ,dad boliye usse...

And it took such a long span for him to consol his parents, who were so much scared and worried for  him .

P- muje kal tere birthday pe hi karni chahiye thi , aao kadi raho .

S- kya mom ?

He asked being confused,

P- get up shivaay, nazar uttarna hai.

She pulled him up from the couch and started her work with the dried chillies in her hand and rotated it infront of his face ,mumbling certain things while shivaay shook his head and sighed . Such beliefs ,

He knew that he was all fine now but still something was  troubling him ,that thought  just disturbed him too much. She hadn't asked him about the accident yet  ,he saw her standing beside Om watching everything quietly. He felt hurt as his heart wanted her to react and ask whether he was fine .

Only if he knew the truth ,only if he knew what sort of relief captured her watching him good and fine .

He changed to his casuals and  came out from the restroom when he saw his phone ringing ,flashing Rohit ( his classmate)

He attended ,his friend enquired about his health and they conversed for a few minutes .

" thank god  man !she came there and saved you at the right moment aur nahi tho pata nahi kya hojatha !"

S- ji haan , If Ragini wasn't there...( interrupted)

" what did you say ? Ragini ? "

S- haan , usne hi muje bachaya na ?

He asked casually ,

" vo Ragini ? Tuje bachaya ? Arey she was the first one to rush to the clinic at once she came out , how can she save you when she wasn't there only "

S- she wasn't the one who saved me ?

He asked being shocked ,

"Nahi , vo koi aur ladki thi . I don't remember,...haan she was our classmate during last semester from the xyz department ,uski naam.... "

He dragged his word thinking, while shivaay had already guessed it ,

S- an...annika?

He asked with his lips settling to place a surprised smile,

" haan annika ! Yes ,she was the one "

And Rohit explained how she had carried him along to bring him out .

Shivaay mentally cursed himself for been feeling a few time before ,his wife had saved him ! His face just bloomed out in a smile . Am I so weightless that she carried me easily? He chuckled ,

I'm sorry annika meine aapko galat samjha  he thought . Everything was so like planned in their life , every little thing brings out a huge impact. Or else why would  the accident occur and why would annika notice it? Their relationship was certainly built for this, they must act as the protective shield and stand by the other through any problem that peaks up.

God just executes it that way with shivika !

His stream of thoughts were broken when he witnessed something inside the laundry bag . It was her kurti which was torn near the elbow with burnt fabric all around . "Usko chot lagi hai " he muttered with a concerned face and scolded himself for being so careless of not noticing it .

He came to know that annika had gone to the terrace to take her clothes ,he climbed upstairs.

Grabbing all the clothes ,she turned back to watch him standing there . She would have just crushed him in a hug if she hadn't got those thoughts which pointed that he would ignore her anyway.

She walked past him silently when suddenly his grip clutched her wrist  making her turn back. He gently twisted her hand to find a wound on the elbow ,

A- it's nothing shivaay ,vo kitchen mei( interrupted)

S- don't lie annika...annika should never lie to shivaay .

He voiced seriously and pulled her along  making her sit on the steps .

He blew on the wound and cleaned it with a cotton . She caught hold of his other hand as it brought a burning feel ,paining more .

She closed both her eyes knowing that he was about to apply the ointment, but it has already been 5 minutes and still there was no feel of him to have been doing it . Being baffled she opened her eyes and found him to be drawing patterns in air with the cotton, his eyes were closed .

She pressed both her lips together to control her laugh ,what was he even doing ?

A- aankein kolo ,

S- I'll finish it first ...

And he continued doing the same while she passed a flying kiss to him, couldn't stop herself after finding this cutest man here. 

A- open your eyes man ,

She ordered, he instantly opened his eyes and watched his hand hanging down in air somewhere far away from her wounded elbow. He reacted innocently and looked down ,

A- chodo ,I'll do it .

She tried to get the cotton from him but he immediately moved back indicating not to .

S- mein kar deta hoon,

Saying this he brought the cotton close, just inches apart from her wound and remained still ,without taking it forward . She who watched this ,just nodded in disbelief and pulled his hands near dropping it on the wound .

S-ahhh! Ahh!

He screamed and took his hands away at once ,while she looked at him with "what?" kind of look .

(One of my favourite scenes from IB🥰🥰😍 , thought of using it 😁)

S- chodiye ,aap bhi na ...

He started blowing around that wound and she smiled brightly.

A- chot muje aur dard tuje?

She said and tried screening his reaction but failed as he was completely bending down ,blowing gently and applying the ointment. 

S- thank you annika,

He said while completing the dressing,

A- for ?

S- for saving me today,

A- take your thank you back, you've done so much for me . Have I thanked you for that, Muje ek beautiful  zindagi dhi hai thune ,I can do nothing which could repay you shivaay.

She admitted looking into his eyes

S- repay? I never do things expecting something back . Everytime I saved you and will continue further too, because I am selfish ,kyunki muje pata hai ...aapke bina mein

He halted suddenly , she smiled .

A- I know you shivaay ,pata hai muje ...vaise how did you know ki meine tuje bachaya?

S- pata hai muje sab .

He nodded ,

A- sab! I kissed you here when you were unconscious (she touched his forehead ) you knew that too? !

She asked raising her eyebrows, while he looked at everything but her .

I want all my lasts to be with you 💞
