Your wedding and honeymoon were supposed to be happy occasions. Weren't they? Well they weren't. Not for you. You were against the whole idea of arranged marriages in the first place and now you found yourself in one. And to be engaged to the egotistical Tony Stark was almost too much for you. There was no way in hell the two of you were compatible and no way you could ever get along. That was how you felt from the very beginning and you didn't see yourself changing your mind any time soon.

"Don't look so miserable, Y/N. You're getting married in just a few minutes after all." You rolled your eyes at your mother. "Ah yes, marriage. What every woman should strive for." Your mother pursed her lips in a clear indication that she did not appreciate your sass at that moment in time. You let out a sigh. "Look, Mom I'm sorry but I just can't be happy about this. I never wanted an arranged marriage. I don't even know Tony Stark other than what I've seen online."

"Is it the wedding night that has you so nervous? I thought I talked to you about that." You let out a huff. "You're not listening. Besides, I got more of a lesson in the birds and the bees from my first college boyfriend than our little chat." Sinking down into a chair, your mother sighed heavily. "I'll pretend I didn't hear that, Y/N. Now please, just put on a happy face and marry Mr. Stark." You picked up your bouquet and asked, "Do I have a choice?"

You had to admit that you didn't pay much attention to the wedding or reception themselves. You also couldn't deny that Tony looked rather attractive. It could have been worse. You could have been arranged to marry someone three times your age and ugly, or even a major jerk. Tony at least seemed kind, albeit a little bit aloof when it came to you. You didn't realize you were so lost in thought until Tony actually spoke to you. "It's time for our first dance, Y/N." You jumped a bit. "Oh."

The rest of the reception passed without you paying much attention. Finally, Tony leaned over and whispered to you, "It's time to go, Y/N." You frowned for a second before meeting your parents' stern gazes across the room. You quickly smiled and turned back to your new husband. "Of course. Where to?" Tony chuckled lightly.

"I've booked the penthouse honeymoon suite for tonight and then tomorrow we fly out to our honeymoon destination." You arched a brow. "And where is that?" Tony simply gave you that irritating smirk of his and told you that it was a surprise. You couldn't help but roll your eyes. You both stood up and you bid your parents farewell. All the other guests were having too much fun to even notice your departure.

The ride to the hotel was full of tension. Mostly on your part. Tony, bless him, tried his hardest to ease your worries. It was beginning to work. Until you arrived in your hotel suite that it. The door closed behind you both and you froze. There was only one bed. Deep down, you knew that you'd have to share a bed with Tony eventually, but you were hoping for a little more time. "Problem?"

"There's only one bed," you muttered. Tony heard you and nodded. "Uh...that's the point of a honeymoon suite." You began to shake your head. "What?" Tony asked. "No." You set your bag down and stepped away from him. "What do you mean no?" You whirled around to look him in the eye. "I mean no. I'm NOT sharing a bed with you. It's bad enough I had absolutely no say in getting married or anything to do with the wedding or honeymoon. I felt like a cattle sold at auction. I damn well am going to have a say in this. I'm not sharing a bed with you."

Tony's smirk finally fell. If you didn't know better, you'd say you hurt his feelings. "Look, Sweetpea, I know this isn't what you wanted but let's try to make the most of it, okay?" You furrowed your brows. "Sweetpea? Have we already given each other pet names?" Tony didn't reply, but smiled and you continued on. "Why did you want a wife anyway? Seems like you were doing okay without one."

Tony let out a sigh. "I may have been, but I've got a playboy reputation. The public seems to think I'm too old to keep that up and they are losing faith in me and my company. With a wife, maybe they will trust me again." You moved over and sat down on the bed. So Tony hadn't really wanted to get married either. "Will you continue your playboy ways now that we're married?"

"No. I meant my vows. Besides, that reputation is somewhat exaggerated." He came and sat down next to you slowly. "Y/N, I know you were forced into this and I'm sorry. But I'll do everything in my power, which is extensive by the way, to make you happy. Or at least to make sure you can tolerate me." You giggled at that in spite of yourself. Tony smiled and gently took your hand in his. It was a very sweet and comforting gesture that warmed your heart.

"It's late. You should get some sleep. I'll sleep on the couch," he offered. He moved to stand, but you tightened your grip on his hand. "You don't have to do that." Tony squeezed your hand. "Well, I'm not letting you do it." You laughed softly again and shook your head. You were really starting to think you went into this with the wrong mindset. "No. I meant that we could share."

"Are you sure?" At your nod, Tony grinned. "But no funny business, Mr. Stark!" you chastised playfully. Tony's laugh echoed through the room. "I make no promises, Mrs. Stark." You felt your face heat up at the title. You weren't sure if you liked the way it sounded, but you could honestly say you didn't hate it as much as you thought you would.

You both got ready for bed in near silence. Your heart was pounding in your chest as you laid down in the bed. Tony climbed in after you, but didn't touch you. He stayed on one side of the bed, as if he were worried about setting you off. "You can sleep a little closer, Tony. It's pretty chilly tonight. I hope we're going somewhere warmer on our honeymoon." Tony laughed again and the tension in the room disappeared. You were able to drift off to sleep.

The next morning, you woke up much warmer than when you went to sleep. It didn't take you long to figure out why. The weight of Tony's arm felt strange yet familiar and comforting at the same time. You glanced over at Tony and smiled. All the stress lines he wore during the day were absent in his sleep. He tightened his arm around you when you brushed a bit of hair off his forehead. You let out a happy sigh, deciding right then and there that maybe being married to Tony wouldn't be so bad after all.
