Monday: a refreshing new start for another week.

Todd, Brian, Maxine, and Kim were at the cafeteria during lunch time. As they walked towards their table, Kim caught Peter flirting with a senior cheerleader from afar.

Hey eyes immediately glinted. “Ooh! Looks like the troublemaker is back on track,” she beamed.

Brian stared at Kim in amazement. “Where do you get those nicknames?”

“Maxine,” answered Kim simply, shrugging.

“Clever,” complimented Brian, nodding.

Maxine grinned.

“Ridiculous,” muttered Todd.

Maxine snapped her head toward him before taking her seat beside Kim. She raised an eyebrow at Todd and decided to tease him.

“Awe,” she started, “he's just pissed being called 'Mr. Irresistible'.”

Brian and Kim laughed.

Todd rolled his eyes. “Shut up, Max.”

Maxine froze. Todd just called her by her nickname. It was the first time that he did that. Why, though? For some reason, her heart beat faster. She felt her face heating up.

It didn't mean anything. Of course not. It was Todd. There wasn't anything by it. But she couldn't help making a big deal out of it. She rapidly shook her head, forcefully pushing the thought away.

Before anyone could notice her sudden change of reaction, Karl came from nowhere and joined them. As he sat, he eyes was looking around the Cafeteria.

“Have you seen Peter?” queried Karl.

“Yes,” replied Kim. “He just left and went somewhere with someone. Why?”

“So, he hasn't told you yet?” said Karl excitedly, turning to look at the others.

“Told us what yet?” asked Brian curiously.

Karl smiled evilly. The gang stared at Karl. He only smiled evilly when he did some major prank with Peter. They were sure that they were about to find out what prank had been done.

“Do you know who Harvey Murphy is?” asked Karl, cocking an eyebrow and tilting his head.

“Yes,” said Kim slowly.

Brian frowned a little. “Of course. He was the one that made Peter look like a dupe in freshmen year, right?”

Karl nodded excitedly. “Right! Peter never — even once — forgot what happened that year. But you know Pete; he doesn't keep grudges on people. So he forgave Murphy for doing that to him. However, when a sudden opportunity of revenge comes to Peter, he doesn't ignore it. Instead, he grabs that opportunity and has fun with it.”

“What on earth did you do to Murphy?” demanded Todd curiously.

Karl didn't instantly answer. Instead, he smirked for a few moments.

“It started last week,” he finally began. “Peter found out that Murphy has had his eyes on Fei Stewart. And he has a hard time on getting near her. You know what Pete is like when he hasn't done a prank for more than a month. So eventually, he decided that the perfect target would be Murphy . . .

(FLASH BACK)

“It's the perfect revenge,” growled Peter, smirking.

“Do you really think it'll work?” asked Karl, half-worried and half-excited.

“Of course it will,” answered Peter quickly, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Karl, how many times have our plans backfired?”

Karl grinned broadly. “Zero times.”

“Exactly. The worst that could happen is if we get ourselves a detention. That's not even bad enough.”

“True.”

“Let's get ourselves to work, then.”

They made a complicated formula that resulted to a foul smell of rotten fish and dead rat mixed together. Karl and Peter almost vomited when they got a smell of it. But they weren't satisfied. They added onion, chili peppers, and garlic on the ingredients. And this time, they ran to the nearest bathroom and vomited without hesitating.

At last, they were satisfied with the result.

The next day, Karl and Peter went to find Harvey Murphy. They told him that they knew how he felt for Fei Stewart and that they would gladly help. At first, he didn't accept. But later, Harvey realized that Karl and Peter were two of the most popular students in Sky. With a shy type like him, he would never stand a chance with Fei Stewart. He needed every help he could get. So he agreed to let them help him in the end.

“Splendid!” exclaimed Peter, waving his hands upward. When he put them down, he got down to business. “Now, here's how it works,” he began, “you need something that will make Fei notice you, right? In order to do that, you'll need this.” He handed Harvey Murphy a list of ingredients. “This is a formula of a love potion.”

Harvey snorted. “Love potions don’t exist.”

Karl gasped. “Oh, it does,” he said seriously. “But for someone who makes fun of it, it won't work. However, if you believe in the power of it, it will do you a great deal of luck in love.”

“Very great deal,” added Peter persuasively.

Harvey didn't look too convinced, though.

“Look,” sighed Peter. “You asked for our help.” He ignored the fact the it was actually him and Karl that offered to help. “If you're going to doubt us, might as well say it now so you wouldn't waste our time. We're telling you that this will work. It's up to you to believe us. Take or leave it, man.”

Harvey thought about it for a moment, his eyes narrowing. Then finally, he took a breath and nodded.

“I believe.”

Karl and Peter made a great effort not to grin or laugh.

Peter cleared his throat. “Alright, what you need to do is to carefully put and mix the ingredients that are listed there,” he added, pointing to the paper on Harvey's hand.

“After doing that, use it as a perfume —” said Karl.

“— and make sure Fei gets to smell it,” finished Peter cheerfully.

“Then what will happen?” asked Harvey eagerly.

“After she smells it from you —” said Karl.

“— she'll be all over you,” whispered Peter, smiling crookedly.

Harvey, clutching the paper in his hand, left happily. Karl and Peter exchanged happy looks. It was about to happen.

After morning classes that day, Harvey finished making the love potion. He met with Karl and Peter in the boy's bathroom, holding a two inched bottle containing the so-called 'Love Potion.'

“Why,” demanded Harvey angrily, “does it smell so badly? Surely, you smell that hideous scent! It's giving me headaches!”

Karl and Peter exchanged looks. They were expecting this.

“Of course, it does,” said Peter happily, oblivious to Harvey's scowl. “How do you expect Fei to notice you, if it smells like fresh air?”

“Yeah,” agreed Karl. “I don't think it will make any attraction at all.”

Harvey paused to think. “Well, does it have to smell badly? It can be a flowery scent or something.”

“Do you dare question the power of the love potion?” asked Peter hurtfully.

“No, but I —”

“Don't you believe in the power it contains?” inquired Karl hurtfully, too.

“I do. It's just that —”

“Then don't ask us unnecessary questions!” cut off Peter, shoving Harvey towards the door. “Don't waste time!”

“Do it! Believe!” exclaimed Karl passionately.

And with that, Harvey opened the bottle — Karl and Peter did not dare breath — and spread it all over his neck, clothes, arms, and pants. Then, he ran outside and went to the 3-C home room and waited.

Afternoon classes finally started. At class 3-C, doors and windows were closed – Karl and Peter purposely closed them before anyone could notice. Harvey's smell was all over the room. It smelled like rotten fish, dead rat, and poop mixed with garlic, onion, and chili pepper combined with what also smelled like a very sweaty fat man with strong odor.

Their classmates were already complaining. But they could hardly speak because when someone tried to speak more than two minutes, he puked badly without making it to the restroom. Others who saw it covered their mouths and ran outside to barf in the restroom.

Mr. Miller, their stocky teacher for the period, stepped one foot inside the room, inhaled and fainted.

Others' faces were turning in the shade of green; some, the shade of purple.

Karl and Peter were extremely baffled as to why half of the class remained in the classroom (they prepared gas masks for themselves). But they quickly shrugged it off and waited for Fei Stewart to arrive.

Harvey wasn't paying the least bit of attention to them. He was patiently waiting for Fei Stewart. When she at last came in the room, everyone stared. They were all waiting for her to run outside. But she didn't. Instead, she walked in to the center of the room.

“What is that smell?” demanded Fei, sniffing and searching for the source.

Slowly, she walked toward Harvey. Harvey was very excited. This was it!

Karl and Peter bemusedly looked at each other. Could their made-up love potion really work? Wow. No one expected that.

Fei leaned down to Harvey, but stood up straight just as quickly.

“You smell!” accused Fei, making a disgusted sound. And then, her face turned to the shade of light green. Her hands flew to her mouth, with her eyes looking as though they were about to bulge out of their sockets.

But that wasn't the worst part.

A split second later, she vomited all over Harvey.

(END OF FLASH BACK)

“Since then,” chuckled Karl. “Murphy avoided everyone from the class — especially, Fei Stewart. He blamed us for 'ruining his social life', he said. He didn't left the faculty room until we get ourselves a detention. So in order for the teachers to get rid of the smell he was bringing the faculty room, Mr. Miller agreed. The detention wasn't bad at all. Mr. Miller just asked us to tell stories about the pranks we've done and how we came up with it.”

The was silence for a minute. And then, Brian laughed.

“That was a hell of a prank,” he said, awestruck.

“Yeah, only you and Peter can come up with those,” added Todd, smirking.

“I'll bet it'll be in the history of the school,” giggled Kim.

Maxine was the only one who looked like she wasn't too thrilled about what Karl and Peter had done.

“Did he deserve that kind of revenge?” asked Maxine, frowning. Everyone looked at Maxine. “I mean, is he really that bad to be humiliated like that? What did he do to Peter, anyway?”

“He deserved it,” said Brian, suddenly serious.

“Yes, he certainly does,” agreed Kim, looking down at her feet.

Maxine looked questioningly at every single one of them – well, except for Todd who she was sure that wasn't going to answer her.

“Pete's father used to owe Mr. Murphy a big sum a few years back,” explained Karl. “In freshmen year, Harvey Murphy met Peter Sullivan. Murphy bullied Peter everywhere, making him look like a dumb guy, a servant, and worst of all, a joke. Peter followed Murphy, afraid that their family might go into ruins if he didn't obey Murphy. But Murphy abused his power over Peter.

“And when Pete's father told him that he had completely paid the debt from Mr. Murphy, and they're now even in a higher position, Peter gained himself back again — being popular as he can be. But never did he have the chance to take revenge on everything that Murphy did to him — until now.”

Maxine was silenced. She didn't know Peter used to have a past like that. That must have been so hard for him. His personality today didn't show any signs of him having to go through something like that.

“It's better for you not knowing the rest,” said Todd quietly.

“There's still more?” asked Maxine incredulously.

“Where's Jen?” suddenly asked Kim, rather loudly.

“Busy,” answered Karl, cottoning on about changing the subject.

“Have you told her?”

“Not yet,” muttered Karl glumly.

While Kim encouraged Karl, Maxine’s mind was wiped off of Peter when she saw that a few students distributing red ribbons to each girl.

“Hey, what are the red ribbons for?” Maxine asked Brian.

“It's for the school activity on Wednesday. The 'Mr. Irresistible' contest for the guys.”

“Oh!” Maxine's eyes widened, while her mouth took a shape of a coin. “Is that where Todd got the title?”

“Yeah,” said Brian slowly, frowning a little. “I thought you knew. You've started calling him that, after all.”

“I know he got the title. But I didn't know how,” said Maxine, shrugging. “How does the activity work?”

“Well, every guy student in this school are participating,” explained Brian. “That day meant 'No Speaking Day' for girls. Every girl have a red ribbon. When a guy makes a girl talk, the girl must give her ribbon to the guy that made her talk. The guy who collected most of the ribbons wins the title 'Mr. Irresistible'.”

“How did Sky come up with that idea?”

“Headmaster Sky is a big fan of the Archie Comic Books – don't ask me how I knew that. He read about it and thought it as a good activity for the Sky students.”

Kim joined their conversation.

“Todd won last year's competition easily,” she said. She grinned and said, “He didn't even speak.”

“Huh? How?” asked Maxine, confusion all over her face.

“You know that Todd always ignores girls, right?” said Kim. When Maxine nodded, Kim continued, “And he never pursued a girl before and never dated before —“

“Because love's not in his dictionary,” interrupted Karl in a singsong voice.

“Anyway, the girls just — gave him their ribbon to be able to talk to him,” finished Kim, shrugging.

“Hmm,” murmured Maxine thoughtfully. She pursed her lips, trying to picture it.

As though Brian read her mind, he said, “You'll be able to see it on Wednesday, anyway. Don't mind it too much.”

Todd suddenly let out a quiet devilish laugh.

“I'll make you talk, Ferguson,” he said with an evil grin.

Maxine grins evilly, too.

“Bring it on, Samuels.”

Todd and Maxine's eyes weren't leaving contact. They were threatening each other by the use of their eyes with dark smiles on their faces.

“There they go again,” sighed Brian.

“Looks like they're all fired up!” beamed Kim.

“That's a good thing, right?” wondered Karl loudly.

Okay, so remember when I told you guys that this was going to be an awesome chapter? Well, I was actually talking about the chapter after this one. Hahaha! My mistake. Sorry! I even left you with a cliffhanger. ;)
Oh, and thank you guys for the song recommendations! I loved listening to all of them. Music is part of my life. :)

I have to say, I honestly LOVE making Karl and Peter's pranks. For those who loved that, there will be MORE in the future! *evil laugh* They are EPIC, seeing as I'm a certified prankster, as well! ;)

Which brings me, tell me if you've done a prank before. Tell me what you did so we can all have a laugh about it. :) I'll share mine, I'll just pick a couple 'cause there are a lot of 'em. Haha!
When I was a Junior in High School, my close friend and I (Bernard's his name) usually brought a Water Jag to school. It was a bummer 'cause the known bullies in our school (which were also in our year) drank from our Water Jags without permission. I grew tired of it so I didn't bring one anymore. They started pestering Bernard. So one day, he looked smug. I asked him why and he said he put salt in his Water Jag. Well, you could only imagine the look on the bullies' faces when they drank from it. Hahaha! Now that I think about it, when something wicked happens, he was my partner in crime. Sneaky nerd. Haha. And then, just recently in College, we had those thick sound-proof doors in our classrooms. In order to open one, you have to push your body along your arms and hands. I was bored so I locked both doors. I waited for someone to slam into it. And then, two of my classmates started blabbering in front of the classroom about something about our projects. One of them was so irritated by our lack of enthusiasm so he decided to walk out. Hehe. When he got to the door, he forcefully slammed into it to make the effect the he was angry. Of course it backfired because it was locked. So he literally slammed into it. We all laughed. Haha! He tried to push it again with his hands, to no luck. And then, he sighed (probably realizing it was locked), clicked the lock (ha! I was right), pushed the door gently, and left. Hahaha! Wow. This is a long share. Hahaha. I'll shut up now. Sorry. XD

Note: So are you looking forward to Todd and Maxine's challenge? What do you think Todd's gonna do in order for Maxine to talk? With that boy, you'll never be sure of what he really thinks. ;D

Upload: I upload on weekends. ^_^ (But I'll upload on Wednesday. I promise! Get it? I'm going to upload on Wednesday, and the Mr. Irresistible in the story is also on a Wednesday! Whoop! :D)
