"Skylar! Wake up!" I heard her yell.

I rolled over and saw my beautiful bride-to-be hovering over me.

"Good morning, beautiful." I greeted with a smile.

She rolled her eyes and smiled. "It's four-thirty in the afternoon, get up."

   "Why?"

"We're gonna be late for our rehearsal dinner."

"Five more minutes." I said before rolling back over.

"We don't have five minutes. You know Wendy will kill us if we're late."

"Ugh... Fine." I said before rolling out of bed and stretching my aching muscles, then I made my way to the bathroom.

I met Rebecca in the parking lot after getting ready for the day.

"Have you seen my keys?" I asked, searching all my pockets frantically.

She held her hand out, my keys dangling from her finger. "Now, come on, we gotta get moving."

"Someone's bossy today." I said as I walked up to her.

She crossed her arms and gave me a look.

I kissed her nose before replying.

"Don't worry, I think it's hot." I finished with a wink before hopping in the drivers seat.

She shook her head and chuckled as she joined me in the car.

I sped out of the parking lot and down the street towards our destination...

We pulled into the parking lot of the wedding venue a half an hour late.

'Hopefully Wendy won't notice.' I thought.

We got out and walked through the front doors.

Sadly, she did and was there to greet us.

"What does five o'clock mean to you?" She asked, annoyance clear in her voice.

   "Five o'clock." Rebecca replied.

"Thank you, Rebecca. Now, let's get in there." Wendy said before leading us to our seats.

I looked out over the large tables filled with friends and family. As I scanned the tables, I saw a face I definitely didn't think I'd see.

I leaned over and whispered in Rebecca's ear. "I didn't think your mom would actually show up."

   "Me neither." She whispered back.

"Ok, roll call, everyone!" Wendy shouted over the crowd.

She started counting heads until she hit three empty seats next to Rebecca's mom.

"Who are we mis-" She was cut off by the front doors swinging open.

Two beautiful, middle-aged women walked in, followed closely by a cute girl about our age.

Before I could ask, Rebecca jumped out of her seat and ran over to them, pulling them into a big hug.

I followed close behind, curious as to who they were.

When I got there, Rebecca introduced me.

"Skylar, this is aunt Lucy." She said, pointing to one of them.

I shook her hand. "Nice to meet you."

   "Likewise." She replied.

"And this is aunt Katherine. We call her Kiki though."

I shook her hand to. "Nice to meet you to."

   "Same to you."

Then, the cute girl cleared her throat.

"Right, and this is my cousin, Kristen."

I went to shake her hand, but she pulled me into a hug.

I smiled, wrapping my arms around her. "Nice to meet you, Kristen."

"Please, call me Kris. I've heard so much about you."

"Hopefully only good things." I said, taking a quick glance at my giggling fiancée.

Rebecca led them to their seats and we took ours, Wendy continuing with the rehearsal...

After everyone finished their meals, we all hung around to chat.

Rebecca and I were on one side, talking, when Blake and a familiar tattooed beauty walked up to us.

   "Hey guys, you remember Kat."

We nodded and shook her hand.

"Hope you don't mind, she's my plus one." Blake added.

"Of course not, happy to have you." Rebecca replied.

"Happy to be here, when's the wedding?" Kat asked.

"In a few weeks, Wendy likes to over prepare though." I replied.

Everyone chuckled as we fell into normal conversation.

After a while, I broke away to look for another drink.

While searching for the drink table, I saw Kris talking to Beth and Stephanie.

I walked up to them. "Hey, Kris, I see you've met my sister and her friend."

"She's your sister? I should've recognized the good looks." She replied with a smile.

I noticed a small blush creep onto Beth's face.

   I smiled to myself.

"Well, aren't you sweet. You kids have fun now." I said before walking back towards the drink table.

Once I got my drink, I returned to my little group, my parents walking up a couple minutes later.

My mom, who was clearly way to drunk, pulled me into a death grip of a hug.

   "Mom... I can't... breath." I said.

My dad chuckled and pulled her off.

Sadly, she saw Rebecca and pulled her into the death grip as well.

"Mom, please don't strangle my fiancée before the wedding." I said with a chuckle.

She released her. "Sorry, honey, I'm just so happy for you guys."

"And a little to drunk." My dad added.

"Oh, Wendy, I'm so happy for you guys to." My mom said before turning the death grip on them.

I pulled Rebecca off to the side before my mom could cause anymore damage.

Once we were alone, I planted a tender kiss on her lips.

"What was that for?" She asked breathlessly.

"Just because I love you." I replied, probably pretty drunk by now to.

She smiled. "Awe, thanks, babe. I love you to."

"You know, I've been thinking of those lips all day." I said with a smirk.

"Well, in a few weeks, they'll be yours and only yours." She replied with a wink.

I smiled and pulled her in for another kiss.

When we pulled apart, she looked at me and smiled.

"I guess I'm driving us home tonight, huh?"

   I giggled. "Yeah, probably."

She opened her mouth to talk when the front doors swung open again, cutting her off.

This time, though, Instead of seeing a pack of beautiful women on the other side. A burley, scary looking man walked through.

He had to be in at least his forties, but still looked like he could seriously kick ass.

   "Who's that?" I asked

Rebecca followed my gaze. "No clue."

   We followed behind him.

He stopped in front of Rebecca's mom and aunts. They turned in his direction and stopped dead, whatever they were talking about was now the last thing on their minds.

"Max?" They all said in unison.

   "Who's Max?" Rebecca asked.

But, her mom and aunts were to shocked to answer.

The scary man named Max turned around and smiled when he saw Rebecca.

He clasped his hands together. "Well, I'm your dad."

Rebecca froze in place, the color leaving her skin.

I looked around and noticed the party had pretty much stopped, every set of eyes in the building were now on us.

   "Y-y-you're my d-dad?" She stuttered.

   He just nodded.

Her eyes glanced quickly from her mom to her "dad".

"Bullshit!" She yelled before turning on her heel and marching out of the building.

   "Rebecca! Wait!" He called.

He started to follow her, but I put my hand in front of his chest. "Hold it."

He stopped and looked at me. "What?"

"You stay here, I'll handle it." I said before turning around and following her out.

When I got out the doors, I found her leaned on the hood of my car, tears dripping from her eyes.

I joined her, placing a comforting arm around her shoulder. "Are you ok?"

   "I... don't know." She said.

I rubbed her back, thinking back to the first couple months I dated her, she had told me he was dead and now this guy shows up claiming to be him.

"I thought he was dead." She said in barley a whisper.

I pulled her closer to me and she rested her head on my shoulder, the tears falling faster.

I just continued rubbing her back. "It'll be ok."

   'Hopefully.' I thought.
