ROSWAAL MORROH

Only a genius would be able to answer the questions on this written test—that was a fact. But unless you were a genius, there was only one possible way to answer the questions. All it took was a quick glance at the paper to know what the objective was.

Thaddeus arrived back from his bathroom break. He was ushered back to his desk, where he fell asleep.

I raised my hand. "May I go now?"

   "You may," Ivan answered.

One of the nearby proctors went up to me and grasped my shoulders. His grip was as soft as a cloud. The proctor led me out of the room into a privy at the end of the hall.

The written test was just a face for the actual test and it seemed that only Chris, Zwergin, and I had figured it out so far.

It was too bad the dwarf's abilities were countered by the design of this test. He'd done a good job keeping to himself this past fortnight and if it were up to me, I would've loved it if I had gotten to know him more.

At least Chris was smooth with how she cheated. I didn't see her do anything, but the way her body language went from stressed to relaxed meant she was no longer threatened by the test.

The proctors staring at us were nothing but a distraction. It was a mental test after all and what was a greater mental test than being watched while performing a task?

I unbuttoned my pants and began relieving myself into one of the toilets. The proctor that escorted me stared off blankly.

"The proctors are nothing more than show. They're only there to put pressure on us. That or they're just straight-up incompetent," I told myself as I stared at the proctor guarding me. "I mean, they haven't even noticed that there's an extra one of them, right, White Stripes?"

The proctor stared at me without answering.

"Sometimes I wished you were sentient," I told my Stand. "Now, tell me what your smoky eyes saw."
