.......he is laying on a hospital bed with all pins and machines trying to keep his lungs functioning ...and heart beating. .......but his heart had stopped that long ago...

All he did was kept this corpse alive all these years..after her ...to look after jiya.  To fulfill Promise given to her mother....that's least he could do....

Adil noticed him gaining back his conscious ..and was about to summon jiya ...but he stopped him gently....

"Mai kabhi ye tumse keh nai paya.....but i Want to thank you ..."he says...and adil looks at him confusingly...

"Meri beti see pyaar karne ke liye....uska khayal rakhne ke liye....promise me..tum uspe koi aanch nai Ane doge. ....you ll always keep her happy ....wo bacchi hai...thodi zidd karti nai kabhi Kabhi ..but she is my baby ...wo bohot masoom hai adil.....please never hurt her"he literally begged Adil.....for her daughter scared for her.  .....wondering that is what naveen might have thought before bestowing his baby sister to him.....

He clearly understood how terrified he must have felt ..and how difficult it is to trust someone to an extent ..to give a peice of your soul to them...

"Sir...hum aapki beti see bohot pyar karte hai....unki utni hi izzat bhi karte hai ....hamari jaan basti hai jiya me.....hum jante hai aapki parehsaani ki wajah .....humari apni do behne hai..... smajh sakte hai aap ne kis bahrose ke sath jiya ka haath hamare haath me diya ...aur puri koshish karenge ..ki unhe khush rakhein.."he said with honest conviction...his own eyes brimming ....but his words genuine...

Rajveer suddenly felt at ease .....as if a burden has been lifted off his chest.....he could die in peace now.....but before dying ..he wanted jiya to know.....what her mother did for her .. ..her mother deserved atleast this ...her whole life was transformed into a painful nightmare by himself ...but he wanted her to be respected .....he wanted her daughter to know how much her mother really loved her ...

He quietly handed over a letter to Adil...asking him to hand it over to jiya. ....to read after he is gone...

"I am sorry naina...par mujhe jiya ko ye sach batana hoga ...ki uski maa ne uske liye kya kiya hai...agar usse ye bat na bata paya ...to jis tarha sukoon se ji nahi paya...us Tarha sukoon see mar bhi nahi paunga..."he whispered....feeling naina sitting in front  of him with questioning eyes.....he closed his eyes....breathing laboured ..and adil ran to call jiya ..

By the time jiya came running to her father.    He had slipped in a slumber ....peacefully and forever. ..leaving them crying behind him.... Perhaps too scared that he won't be able to meet her eyes to say a goodbye ....

.flashback...

Jiya was sleeping soundly in her lap...on hospital bed. And she kept ruffling her hair ....and watching her baby to sleep contentlyI
Rajveer was quietly watching the site infront of him...

"Promise me something..."she whispered .

"Tum jiya ko Kabhy hamare rishte ki sacchai nai bataoge....in her view ..her parents should always be a perfect couple.."she said ..

He listened carefully...

"Meri sari zindagi mai pyaar ko dusra mauka dene ki himmat nahi juta pai...and look what it made of me..if i regret anything in my life ..its this....this belief inside me...that i can never love anyone again...this fear....its toxic..devastating .."she said to him...explaining him...

"Naina....i"he couldn't find  a way to apologize to her..or any words to speak either...
"My daughter should never be terrified of giving love a chance .no matter what she goes through ...
Promise me you ll never let our past project on her future ...you ll make her so strong .that a heartbreak would never crush her will and stop her from standing up again ...no matter what...you ll always teach her to reassemble...retry ..start it over again .. She should never be terrified of love and happiness like her mother was....

She should never lose her hope.....promise that ...you ll never let her break....like her mother....you ll always stand by her....guide her. .love her ....she is our baby rajveer.   I want her to be just as  innocent...happy ...kind.....and  everything her mother couldn't be .."
Her eyes brimmed....she kissed this little angel in her arms. .....careful not to break her slumber .....

"Main chahti hun....ki mere hisse ki khushi bhi wo jiye ...tum wo khushi use doge ...mujhe pura bharosa hai tumpar that you ll be the best father for her .. "she completed. ..with a heavy voice. Admiring her own flesh and blood...the Mere reason she had kept breathing ...
Her little baby..her jiya....watching her contently for one last time....

He promised it to himself ...that he would suffocate in silence .but never let the shadows of their past fall on their daughter . ...

And his silence ..slow poisoned him ...all those nights of pain and regret . ...crushed him bit by bit ..all these years. ......but he knew he deserved every bit of this suffocation..

He wanted to love like naina. ...burn in ashes himself to keep his daughter warm ...he did really understand the meaning of true love that night.....as naina kept weeping silently with the thought of parting away from her daughter ......

Present

Dear jiya ...
Mai aaj tumhe ek sach batana chahta hun.....Jo aajtak tumse chupaya hai maine...your mother never wanted you to know this ....she wanted to give you the best life but i think...now you are matured enough to know what pain she had went through..in order to do so ....i think she deserves this respect.....ye letter mai khud tumhe nahi de paya...tumhari aankhon me apne liye nafrat dekhne ki himmat nahi hai mujhme....
Ye Sach hai ke main Naina see bohot pyar karta hun
Uske bad phir kisi aur ka nahi ho paya
Par ek Sach ye bhi hai
Ke is baat ka ehsas bohot der se hua...
Jab sab kuch khatam ho Chuka tha...."

Please sach janne ke baad mujhse nafrat mat karna....Mai aur tumhari maa...tumse bohot phase karte hai jiya ...aur ye bat bhi utni hi sach hai ...you were the best thing that had happened to both of our lives ....please dont hate me ".

"she read the letter quietly...sobbing at the terrifying reality of his and her mother's relationship....and the amount of darkness and pain it beheld...

She wept as she sat there holding her parents photographs in her hand.
Her nose red due to crying.

Not able to digest the story she just read.
She remain quite
As Adil sat beside her reading the letter which Raj has left for jiya.

As he finished the last words
He saw jiya

And filled her in his arms
She cried in his arms......

He didn't said a word
She need this moment to pass
She need to deal with this misery by herself.

All he can do is to support her while she do this.

After sometime
When she composed herself to a bit normal

He made her drink water
And prepared coffee for her

Making her drink....

They sat with another couple of minutes in silence...when he finally said

"He really loved you jiya
I have never seen a father like him"

He said pressing her hand.

She saw him and silently agreed with him.

"He deserves to be forgiven.....
Your mother forgave him too.....that's why she trusted him with you"
He said and she gave deep thought on her words.

"I know
I remember those last days of my mom.....
Those are the best childhood memories I have with both of them...
I wish main in dono ko thank you bol pati .....
Fir being that kind of parents that they were....
Apni tuti Hui shadi ka
Apne bikhre hue rishta ka ek katra bhi mujhe pe nahi ane Diya....

My mom was Soo strong....
Aur dad..... Itne salo Tak apne andar itna kuch chupaye rahe....
He gave me the best childhood any child can have.....

They loved me Soo much.....
How am I going to repay that

She cried more bitterly

"In dono ki wish Puri Kar ke
By always staying happy
Jaisa ke wo dono chahte the...."
Said Adil

And she noded....and looked up at sky

"I promise you mom
Main humesha khush rahungi....
Apke hisse ki khushiya bhi main jiyungi.....

And dad.....
I forgive you...
You are my hero.....and you will always be.....

I love you Dad
I love you mom"

She said as Adil rubbed her shoulder to console her......

And somewhere from the sky
Two souls smiled at them.....
