(When this story is set: A few days after Kageyama and Hinata met Ushijima. It will clarify a few things)

Kageyama walked to the hospital. It was late, the sun had already set, so it was better to go right now. She held her arm, quickening her pace to reach it as soon as possible. "Hello, welcome to the hospital. Do you have an appointment?" the receptionist asked in a sweet tone as soon as she entered and approached the desk.

"Uh, no. I came here because I had a bit of an accident with glass." Kageyama nervously explained, showing him her injured knuckles. He blinked in surprise.

"I'll call a doctor to see that injury. I can see that you already treated it yourself." the boy pointed out.

"Yeah. My grandpa taught me how to." she admitted, rubbing the back of her neck. The volleyball lover was really thankful for her father figure to have taught her how to deal with any injuries. Thanks to all his wisdom and knowledge, she was able to save her own ass a couple of times. The boy nodded, opening something that looked like a note, but the setter didn't know what it was

While you wait, would you give me your name?" he asked, quickly typing in his computer.

"Kageyama Touko." she answered. The boy nodded, typing really quick. He then gave her a paper with a code of numbers and letters. He then pointed to a room.

"You can wait there. There are vending machines with drinks and snacks if you feel hungry or thirsty." he said, smiling. The setter nodded, quietly thanking the receptionist before she went inside the waiting room. As the boy had said, there were vending machines. She got out her wallet, inserting a dollar before pressing two buttons as she always did. She got one milk carton. She went to sit down.

"Kageyama Touko?" she heard the voice of the one and only Ushijima Wakatoshi. She looked to him in surprise. She wasn't expecting running into someone she knew. Well, it was certainly better than running into Karasuno, that's for sure.

"Ushijima-san? I'm surprised to see you here." she admitted. Shiratorizawa's ace sat down next to her.

"My father is hospitalized here. I come to visit him often." the ace admitted. Kageyama hummed. She could relate to him. She remembers all the times she visited her grandpa back when he was still alive. She noticed the small box he had on his lap.

"Is that for him?" she asked, receiving a nod for an answer.

"It's an old picture frame." he said, taking it out. Kageyama looked at it in awe.

'He looks so happy...' she thought, inwardly smiling. "I'm sure your father will love it." she told him. Before Ushijima could say anything, a nurse called her. She got up, waving goodbye at him, leaving the olive haired boy by himself. 'Kageyama Touko...' he thought. His lip quirked upwards for a bit.

"Alright! That injury is a goner now. Make sure you rest your hand though. We don't want it to open again." the doctor told her with a bright smile. Kageyama nodded, looking at her now bandaged hand. The cloth was adjusted just enough for it to not damage her. She was grateful for that.

"Make sure to change the bandages when you can!" the doctor reminded her. She nodded, waving goodbye as she left the room. She put both of her hands in her pockets. As soon as she left the building, a wave of cold air hit her. Good thing she was wearing a hoodie. She dug her hands deeper into her pockets, trying to search warmth. She just wanted to get to her home as soon as possible so she could crawl under her blankets and have a good sleep. She really needed it. She looked up to the dark blue sky. She saw a bunch of crows flying around. One of them landed on her shoulder.

"Hey there. Are you lonely?" she asked in a soft tone. The crow tilted it's head. Kageyama sweatdropped.

"Of course. You can't really understand me." she sighed. When had she become that dumb? Or is it because she's so lonely that this small bird is just keeping her company? The bird then pecked her head softly, without any intention to make any harm.

"...You want me to follow you?" she questioned, receiving a nod for an answer. The crow started flapping its wings up, starting to fly towards an alleyway. The setter followed it, having a weird feeling in her gut. But she decided to ignore it, still trailing after the bird. The two went inside the alleyway, and Kageyama felt the world stop. She didn't know how much she had been holding her breath for. Her face's colours slowly started to drain.

"USHIJIMA-SAN!" she screamed, running towards Ushijima's unconcious and injured body. She knelt down, putting two fingers on his neck. Thankfully, he was still breathing. He was full of burn marks, which indicated that he was attacked by something, or someone with fire. She also noticed the many scratches on his body. She quickly picked him up. She had a pretty small idea of what happened, but she doubted it was true. After all, they didn't find a way to get into this world, right?
