"How did your other assignment go?" Yuta perks up from his current task, his gaze falling onto the person who had just walked in.

Jaemin stood by the doorway, the brighter light from the other room blinding Yuta's eyes as the younger boy's figure was slightly unrecognizable at first.

Watching Jaemin's silhouette for a brief second until the boy finally closes the door behind him, caging them in the lesser lit up room.

"It was fine, much more risk and action than this one so far." Yuta jokes about, "Yangyang almost fucked up again but luckily Donghyuck saved his ass this time."

Jaemin lingers on the top of the stairs as he listens to Yuta's blabbering about his recent given task, hands in his pockets while nodding off.

"What about you? How did your first 'date' with Lee Jeno go?" It was Yuta's turns to ask him this time, giving him a small glance.

Hands occupied with a pistol, fumbling around as he wipes it thoroughly enough to get some smudges off.

His question has Jaemin biting his inner cheek, taking his time on the stairs, cringing from the creaky sounds it makes with each step he takes until he reaches the bottom.

"I guess it went fine too, managed to go through it with him smiling at the end of the day."

"You sound gushy about it, lover boy." Yuta teases, flashing him a smirk that gets an annoyed groan from Jaemin in an instant.

"That's not what I meant," he grumbles in response, taking a few steps closer to where Yuta is, but still making sure to keep some distance.

"I'm trying to "woo" him as much as possible and hopefully believable enough too." He adds, air quoting with his fingers at the specific word.

Humming, Yuta carefully places the pistol away and then takes another weapon to clean up. "Honestly, based from my observations so far, there's not much effort you need to give off for him."

"Like we've said before, he's probably the easiest one out of the four of them. Despite his dad literally having the same positive and naive aspect as him, the man is a business man."

"Mark and I have to tolerate more than you, just saying." He shrugs his shoulders, "we have to plan this out carefully, especially about the "family business" part."

"There's not much difference, I mean, I think you already have Jeno wrapped around your finger in my opinion." Jaemin raises a brow at that.

"What?"

Yuta's hands pauses, loosely gripping on the object as he turns his head to look at Jaemin. "I don't know to what extent, but the thing is that you just have him that easily."

"Jeno's been nice to you since the start, hell he was the one who willingly accepted this fake arranged marriage between the two of you." He points out matter-of-a-factly.

"It's still not that easy though, I can't rely or sit back on his kindness and some of his gullibility on this, expecting highly from it." Jaemin states.

Giving him a flat look, Yuta replies with, "I didn't say you should."

"You were saying I have it easy." Jaemin blinks at him.

"Yeah, between the three of us. But I didn't say anything about sitting back on it. We still have a lot to do, put some work in to it, we're like– barely there."

Yuta pauses for a second before continuing, "you should keep that in mind. No matter how easy Jeno seems to be, it isn't all that."

"Of course I know that, I have Yeeun all over my six the whole time. Even at lunch time, across the room I see her eyeing me weirdly." Jaemin mentions, rolling his eyes at that.

"Told you you should be grateful, imagine if it was her whom you're arranged with." Yuta lets a breathless chuckle escape his lips.

Jaemin glares at him, annoyed with the sudden subject being brought up. He quietly admits that he complained a bit too much, a mistake of his that many of his peers would consider it as unprofessional for a favorite like him.

Especially Johnny and their boss.

But he wouldn't say it out loud, knowing well the others wouldn't let it go for a long while just to push his buttons.

He doesn't need to, however. Yuta knows him enough, guessing correctly at times on what's going on in Jaemin's mind.

"It would be a lot of time being wasted." Jaemin mutters, getting a smile from Yuta. "And a higher chance of this assignment to be a fail."

"Great, now you realize what we were trying to tell you." The elder boy continues to pester him, showing off how Jaemin was indeed in the wrong before.

"Yeah yeah, I get it. I wasn't listening and just being immature." The raven haired boy huffs out.

"You think? Kid, everyone saw your frowning face at our first meet up. And even Haeun was a little curious when you pulled Mark to the side on the last gathering."

"I was asking how long did we have to stay with them for." Jaemin blinks as he grimaces.

The elder boy rolls his eyes, "doesn't matter. Just don't be too suspicious, from what you told me, Yeeun has an eye on you."

"She does, especially when I'm with Jeno."

"And that's risky, take that as a warning." Yuta sternly tells him. "Not just from an overprotective sister behavior, but also see it as someone who's on to you in this."

Jaemin quietly nods in understanding, choosing not to let his stubborn brain get to him again and his actions, making it harder for them to work together on this huge assignment.

It's important, for him to do this right. And another thing he doesn't vocally share to them in all honesty is that he's low-key grateful for Yuta and Mark smacking some sense into him.

If it wasn't for them, they'd still be tolerating with Jaemin's grouchy attitude, listening to his complaints and trying to get him close to Jeno by themselves.

Yuta finishes up his tasks and clasps his hands. "I'll be out tonight, I have to meet Doyoung to assist him. If Mark isn't here yet by then, tell him as well."

Giving him a fist bump, Jaemin heads out the secret room first.

A room Johnny had told them about before they got here; to keep their mafia shit away from snoopers and citizens, hence the weapons.

It's not the usual and expected basement anyone can go in to. They're not stupid. Let's just say it's still somewhere around the house.
