"You seemed a bit irritated today."

I looked up from the food that was cooking on the stove to see Kakashi entering the kitchen.

"Sorry about that," I apologized with a sigh. "I was a bit distracted."

"Mind sharing?" He raised a brow, at least I think he did, and went to sit on one of the stools at the kitchen island.

"Not really," I left it at that as I turned back to the stove to stir the pasta I was cooking.

"Well, on a different note," Kakashi decided to let it go. I think he knew better than to bother trying to pry by now. "Some of my friends are coming over tonight, so I hope you don't mind making extra food."

"That's fine," I enjoyed cooking, so I didn't see the problem. Though, why do I feel as though I'm some parent with their kid asking permission for their friends to come over? "How many people are coming?"

"Five," He told me as he sipped on a cup of coffee. And yes, I already knew what his face looked like. "They're some of the other sensei's for the genin teams. Guy will be there too, so a lot of food will probably be necessary."

Both of us sighed at the thought of Guy. Ever since I came to Konoha and began staying with Kakashi per the Hokage's orders, Guy had come over multiple times. He was a good guy. I'll admit that. However, his enthusiasm could be a little overwhelming.

"I guess pizza and even more pasta it is," I'd probably end up making some bread sticks too. Or maybe garlic knots. Or both... Hmm, I'm not sure. I'm kind of just stress cooking at this point.

"I appreciate it," Kakashi thanked me. "We both know that I can't cook for the life of anyone."

We both sweat dropped at the memory of him trying to cook the first day I started living with him. Let's just say that we ended up having to replace everything in the kitchen.

"Yeah..." I sighed again as I started working on some homemade pizza. "You're not allowed to cook anymore..."

"That's probably for the best..." Kakashi gave a sigh as well before we both looked up at the sound of a knock at the door.

"They're here early," I noted as I turned back to the food. I'd just let Kakashi go get the door.

"So it seems," Kakashi got up to go open the door, and I could hear a few exchanges of words before I heard the door close. I could only assume that it wasn't Guy seeing as I had yet to hear any loud and enthusiastic yelling.

"Sorry that we're here so early," A familiar male voice apologized, sounding a bit sheepish. "We didn't have anything else to do, so we figured that we would come and help you prepare food or something. Considering that Guy-san is coming, I'm sure we'll need a lot of food."

"Ah, thanks, but you'll have to get Akio's permission to use the kitchen." I turned around as three people came into the kitchen that was starting to become filled with food.

One of the people that entered was obviously Kakashi, but the other two were none other than Kimiko and Akihiko.

"Akio?" Kimiko looked at me with a questioning look. "What are you doing here?"

I looked down at all the food before me before looking back up to her. "I'm cooking."

Her and Akihiko both sweat dropped at my simple answer.

"I don't think that's what she meant, Akio," Kakashi didn't even glance at me as he had finally stuck his nose back in his book again.

"I see," I knew that. Totally. "Well, I actually live here per the Hokage's order."

"The Hokage's order?" Akihiko raised a brow at my cooking form.

"Mhm, I'm somewhat new to this village, and the Hokage is a bit weary of my former occupation." Eh, it was true enough.

"Your former occupation?" This time, it was Kimiko asking. Even Kakashi had looked up from his book as I stopped my cooking to answer. He had never bothered asking as he felt it wasn't necessary information, but he was still curious.

"I was a traveler and an informant of sorts." I stuck to the half truth I had been giving. "Though, I kept a majority of the information I discovered to myself, so it's not as though I was a real informant."

"An informant? At such a young age?" Both Akihiko and Kimiko seemed surprised. They really shouldn't be. In this world, there are those younger than me that have already killed.

"Speaking of age," Kakashi cut in. "How old are you, anyways?"

I paused a second to try and think of an answer to this seemingly simple question. Man, it's been awhile since somebody asked how old I was. It's a bit sad that it takes me a couple seconds to even think about my real age.

"I guess..." I frowned, trying to think of how to word this. "It would really depend on who you asked. But, enough about me. If we don't get more food cooked before everybody else arrives, Guy-san is going to eat all of it on us."

The two guests sweat dropped as they were reminded of the green clad ninja.

"Fair enough," They agreed. "Do you need any help?"

"I'd be grateful for it, actually," I smiled as I spread some sauce on some pizza dough. "There should be some dough in the fridge if you guys want to start on some garlic knots. Just don't burn the kitchen down like Kakashi-san over here."

You could hear the teasing tone in my voice as Kakashi sent me a playful glare.

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say that you're Italian," Akihiko chuckled while Kimiko got out the dough I spoke of.

"Not quite," I smirked whilst sliding a prepared pepperoni pizza into the oven. "But my grandmother always made Italian meals when I went to her house, so I guess I picked it up from her."

I almost laughed when I noticed Akihiko choke on his spit.

"You mean, you actually know what Italy is?!" He coughed causing his girlfriend to pat his back with a shake of her head.

"In case you're unaware," I started speaking in English. The look on his face was quite amusing. "I'll have you know that I'm from the United States. It would be weirder if I didn't know about Italy."

Poor Kakashi had no clue what was going on or what I was saying.

"Oh..." Akihiko replied back rather dumbly making Kimiko raise a brow at him.

"It shouldn't be too surprising," Kimiko spoke in English as well as she started to make the garlic knots. Luckily, she knew exactly how to make them. "He has the same smell as you and the others after all."

So that's what she meant when she said I smelt familiar...

"Oh..." Poor Akihiko was sulking about not realizing it sooner.

"Anyways, that's enough talking in English," I took a glance at Kakashi who was sweat dropping. "I think we're only confusing Kakashi. Plus, the quicker we get dinner done, the quicker I can get to making desserts."

"Desserts?!"

Well...

At least now I know how to get them motivated...
