When we were just a couple of feet tall,

We had nothing to conceal;

Except for a few candies

When we had no such truths to hide

Except for playing on swings and slide

Our parents could see through our minds

As clearly as the snowflakes glide.

And as a couple of feet got added to us

The candies changed into something suspicious

We got those tiny wings of fake wisdom

That we flapped flapped flapped

How eager were we to grow up into the adulthood trap;

And then when we grew up even taller

We thought the world was shrinking shorter

The snowflakes blurred out

The clouds were not of rains but of doubts

When those misty films of lies entered between us and them

And the parents with whom we would share every bit that happened at school,

Now hiding just the nasty bits that we feel ain't cool.

Was it the glimpse of adolescence that I got,

Or just the puberty hit me hard?

Well, truth is that,

Just age played it's game

But the love, it never changed
