Ok guys imma clear this shit up alright but the covenant whom refused to join Arbiter and such are the ones they fought alright, I know I confused myself too for a few minutes XD

A sudden shock brought me back and I sat up holding my chest, I instantly regretted sitting up so fast as my head began to ring and my side throbbed like all hell. I began to cough as air returned to my lungs, people around me were shouting something or other but I blocked them out. The lights blinded me making me wince, I hopped off the medical bed ignoring the tubes and wires connected to my arms, chest and legs. The tug of the tubes and wires when I had stumbled too far bothered me, I ripped them from my limbs in a panic. People were rushing lol around me shouting something or other but I ignored them, I shove those who got in my way to the side wanting to escape the bright blinding lights. Bursting from the room and into a much darker one I leant against a wall calming myself down, sounds began to return to my ears again as I calmed my panicked heart.

"VALORA! VALORA WHERE ARE YOU!?" I heard a familiar voice shout, my eyes narrowed hearing his voice after what happened.

"VALORA PLEASE! I'M SORRY VALORA! PLEASE VALORA!!!" He cried, it hurt my heart to hear him cry out like that but I ignored it. Minutes passed and he continued to cry out, I broke down in tears hearing him cry out but I didn't want to face him like this. Suddenly the door opened to reveal his concerned face, I turned away holding my knees to my chest. He slowly approached knowing I was dangerous when cornered and scared, he carefully pulled me into a tight hug as I cried my heart out. He calmly rubbed my back as I cried into his chest, I couldn't control the tears I had held back for far too long from far too many memories and loss of friends.

****************

After hours of crying I had finally calmed down, John still held me in a tight hug to make me feel safer. All I wanted to do was sink back into the darkness death had given me, I wanted nothing more to do with these people or their worlds.

"Shhhhhhh it's ok Valora, I'm sorry for how I've treated you, I never realised how I was acting until you confronted me on that covenant ship, I'm so so sorry for making you feel that way..." He soothed, I gave a pained cough and looked him in the eyes.

"I'm not going to apologise but I won't ever truly hate you," I sighed looking away, he pulled my chin to face him.

"Valora you won't ever need to apologise, just always be with me on this, we need to stick together to beat the Freelancers and any other threats that might come after us," Chief whispered, I snuggled into his chest for both warmth and comfort.

"We won't hurt the twins, Washington and York... right?" I questioned pulling myself back to look at him, he gave a sigh and brushed a hand through my hair.

"If we can persuade them to join us or at least leave Project Freelancer then we won't have to," he sighed, I nodded and hugged into his chest again. The door creaking open startled me and made me hide behind Chief, I couldn't tell who it was I only knew it was one of the Sanghelios clan.

"Demon we have company and it is best you both suit up for your safety," he warned softly as to not startle me into a panic frenzy, I got up and followed John to where we had our armour stored. I put mine on ignoring the holes in it from the battle I don't know how long ago, I would have to get it fixed later when I could think straight. We slowly made our way outside where Elites and marines all stood watching something or other, looking to the sky I saw a familiar Freelancer pelican landing in the clearing nearby. This made my anxiety start up again, if the Freelancers wanted to attack they would have used special tech not a flimsy pelican that looked like it had seen better days. Out of the tree line stepped Agent Tex and I knew we were in for shit if she wanted trouble, I hid behind John hoping she wouldn't see me.

"Alrighty lets get this over and done with shall we? Hand over what is rightfully ours and we will leave in peace," she called crossing her arms, I knew she was talking about me.

"Get out of here Freelancer scum while you still have the chance," Arbiter growled in warning, she shook her head and tapped her foot.

"Alrighty then, game on," she chuckled before vanishing suddenly, Elites began to pull out their swords confused on the new tech. Before I knew it I was thrown backwards by a powerful blow to my stomach, my suit took most the damage but it hurt like hell. The black witch as I liked to call her uncloaked in front of me shaking her head, she went to reach down to grab me when something threw her sideways into a wall.

"YOU STAY AWAY FROM HER BITCH!!" John roared in anger standing over me protectively, Tex chuckled and vanished again. I stood up regaining my breath, my stomach hurt more than it should have but I guessed it was from my anxiety. Everything was quiet for a moment, Elites and marines stood on guard waiting for her next move. I grabbed a knife from my side, it wasn't my usual combat knife but more so one for throwing. Slightly movement caught m eye making me throw it in that direction, there was a scream and a trail of blood trickled down from where Tex's shoulder had been at the time of impact. Now she would be easier to track now that she was bleeding, Elites fired away at the floating trail of blood as she bounded towards me. My heart sank as her fist connected with my chest throwing me into a building, I fell to the ground breathless and sore. Finally I had enough of her shit, I stood holding my probably broken ribs.

"Right Tex if you want me, come face me like a true spartan!" I called, she uncloaked metres away and I held my hand warning no one to interfere. We circled each other with me wincing with almost every step, either way this bitch wasn't taking me back. Suddenly she sprinted forwards giving me only a few seconds to dodge, crashing into a wall I took advantage of that and kicked her across the face. She stumbled back a bit before charging again, this time I took the force of the hit. Having me pinned I thrashed and struggled against her tight hold, John was getting nervous and ready to hop in the moment I couldn't fight anymore. Adrenaline drove me mad, I surged my hand upwards connecting it with her chest before kicking her off. Suddenly an invisible arm went around my neck making me freeze, there held to my throat was a Freelancer dagger.
