Regarding the Sahabah -e-Kiraam رضي الله عنهما (the noble companions of our beloved prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم), many people read their history and find therein , mention of some sin committed, on some rare occasions, by some companions of Rasulullah صلئ الله عليه وسلم .However, these incidents are so negligible in number, that they can be counted on one's fingers.

Whilst there are authentic narrations in books of Hadeeth, of sins such as zina (fornication /adultery), theft, gheebqh (backbiting ),slander and other major sins cited from the lives of the Sahabah رضي الله عنهما,these are rare and isolated incidents. As a result, we find the respective Shar'i punishments were mented out :Cutting off of the hands on account of theft, Stoning to death of account of adultery, prescribed lashing on account of other major sins, and so forth.

Due to this, many so called 'enlightened 'and 'free-thinking' Scholars and writers reduce the status of the Sahabah -e-Kiraam رضي الله عنهما,with sinners and transgressors like us:i .e. just as so many amongst us steal, lie, drink liquor, gamble, and indulge in adultery, etc.so too did the (نعوذ بالله من ذلك -Na-oozu Billahi min zaalik:We seek Allah's protection from that).

Due to their liberal way of thinking, they then conclude and deduce: 'Since they also committed sins, what then is the difference between the Sahabah رضي الله عنهما and us?......Why give them any special status?' (نعوذ بالله من ذلك )

Such devious and distorted beliefs are a serious danger to one's Imaan (Faith/Belief). There is the fear of such a person loosing his Imaan.

Rasulullah صلى الله عليهوسلم warned :"FEAR ALLAH! Fear Allah with regard to my Companions. Do not make them a target (of your criticism )after me. Whosoever loves Sahabah, loves them because of my love .And whosoever dislikes them, dislikes them because he dislikes me. He who harms them, has harmed me . And he who harms me ,has caused hurt to Allah. And he who causes hurt to Allah, Allah will soon grab hold of him."

It's therefore necessary that we learn about and understand the lives of the companions of Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم correctly.
