Cora's POV

"Come on Cora. Your wings are dry so now you are going to try again." Oh no. I'm cold and if I go in the water again I'm going to be freezing. No thanks, I'm good. I think I'm fine where I am Archangel. I've never had hypothermia and I don't want it either.

"Do I have to? It's cold and the water is colder." I stayed where I was and didn't even open my eyes. The others had gone back an hour ago but the 'wise' archangel insisted I stayed here and jump off the cliff again and again until I flew. He claims to know what he was doing but now I'm tired, hungry and it's getting dark.

"You are going to fly even if it takes all night, even if I have to throw you off the cliff myself." Michael said sternly. Fine see what happens when he does. I don't think I have enough energy to swim back to the cliff. Michael needs to learn that I'm basically human. Sure I maybe am a little stronger, a little faster, and my senses have improved but I still get tired and I still need to eat.

"You can throw me off but I'm tired. I know I have never flown before, but I'm guessing you need energy to do it. If you throw me off, I don't know how I'm going to be able to swim back and I think we've already established I am not going to fly. Not today. Good bye." While I ranted at him I got up and began to walk back to the fought but Michael grabbed me by the arm and marched me to the edge of the cliff.

"That's your problem." And with that, Michael threw me off the cliff like he said he would. From here on out, let it be official, the first chance we get, we're going to ditch the archangel. Sure he may have helped us but he's a loose cannon. But what if he decided I needed to learn how to fight, he might try to make me fight someone or something by locking me in the room with a demon or Hybrid.

This time everything seemed different. Time seemed to slow down and gravity seemed to fade away. Knowing I should take this chance, I unfurled my wings and soared into the sky. It was as I had all the time in the world to do this so I decided to fly up and surprise Michael. I may have flown this time but I could have died. We're going to ditch the archangel. Sawing above the edge, I saw Michael and landed next to me.

"Well done. I knew you would only fly when you thought you wouldn't. I had to push you to the breaking point for you to fly." Without saying a word I walked into the woods, along the path that leads back towards the fort. I had trusted him and he let me down. I don't do second chances very often. I could hear Michael following me but I said nothing and neither did he. It didn't take us long to walk back but it felt like forever because of the awkwardness. Cole was there when and looking worried. When he saw us he looked relived and came towards us.

"Where were you two? We were worried. Alec was convinced you two had been grabbed by the council." He seemed to notice the silence and tension between us. "What happened?"

"This moron threw me off a cliff. I told him I was tired and hungry, I told him I didn't have enough energy to swim back to the cliff if I failed I would drown. He told me it was my problem and he went ahead and threw me off the cliff." Michael cut in before I could say anything else.

"But she flew before she hit the water and I wouldn't let her drown. We need her to save the world and bring my father back." So he doesn't care about me. To him I'm just a means to an end, he's just using me.

"So you don't care about me? You're just using me? I'm done. Goodnight Cole." I walked inside and Michael followed me.

"That's not what I meant I-" I cut him off before he could say anything.

"I know exactly what you meant. Leave me alone! Why should I even talk to you, you threw me off a cliff." I ran, leaving Michael alone in the corridor. I went to the room I had been given and locked the door behind me. Right then I gave up on the archangel, he may have helped us now and then but the way he does it is out of order.

Choosing some different clothes, I went into the bathroom and showered. I needed to wash the day's events off me and out of my head, plus I needed to relax and a nice hot shower is the perfect way to do it. Jumping on the bed, I fell asleep very quickly. All too soon I was awoken by someone hammering on the door.

"Cora, open up. I'm sorry about earlier. I have food, I'll give it to you if you open the door." It was Michael and he was trying to bribe me into forgiving him. It's not going to work. Ok it might because I'm really hungry. Getting up, I unlocked the door and glared at him.

"Hand over the food." I didn't say anything else.

"Come with me and I'll give it to you." Oh great, archangels going to play games. Lucky me.

"I'm not coming with you. I no longer trust you. Either you go get me food or I'll do something you'll regret later." I said.

"Like what?" He replied.

"I haven't thought of it yet but it won't be nice." I threatened.

"There's food in the kitchen. Everyone's in there and your presence was requested by our generous host." I'll go to where the food is. There's more of it there. Plus I want to talk to the others about something, mainly what we were going to do about the archangel.
