Next morning

"I'm so sleepy," Conner rubbed her eyes as she rolled over to the other side of the bed and closed her eyes again but the notorious alarm rang again, reminding her she was 5 minutes late, dragging herself from the bed she turned the alarm off, the clock showed 4:05, there was knock on the door, she sleepily raised her head, her twin brother peeked inside, "Come on, sleepyhead, we're late," He told her.

Freshening up, they finally entered the training ground at 4:20 am. Conner yawned as she rubbed her eyes.

"wake up, sleepyhead," Tyler hit her head from behind, Conner turned back and glared at him, "Don't you dare mess with me right now!"

"Who? Me? I was just waking your sleepy head." Tyler played innocent.

"Yeah, thanks, I'm perfectly up now," The corner of her mouth quirked up.

"Oh-oh." Tyler took his steps back, "too late," she scoffed as her arms locked around his neck as she twisted it, "Ow, Conner, stop." He begged.

"Why I'm just treating your stupid head?" Conner mocked him.

"I'm sorry, sorry, please spare me." He begged as he tapped on her arm.

"Did you learn your lesson?" She tightened her grip.

"Yes, yes, I'm really sorry, please spare me now." He begged again.

"Okay." She finally let him go.

"Ow, my neck." He cried in pain as he placed his hand and rubbed the nape of his neck.

"Don't mess with her when she's half-asleep," Murphy warned him.

"You should've told me before, you good for nothing brother." Tyler pouted sulkily.

"Don't you dare mess with my brother," She narrowed her eyes at him.

"Ty, you should know without being warned about it," Murphy clicked his tongue.

"Wasn't Tyler going easy on her? He can outdo her without breaking a sweat." Kevin shrugged.

"No, Mr. Knowitall. She can outdo you if she really wanted to, she does look innocent and harmless but don't you dare forget her background, if she decides to get serious, you guys may get into some serious trouble, and remember, never ever do these two things," Lia raised her closed fist up in the air and began the count with her little finger, "1. Don't mess with her when she's asleep/ half asleep, 2. Don't badmouth her brother in front of her." She listed them out.

"Oh wait, where's Alex?" Conner blinked searching around for her friend, "Oh damn, she's going to get us to do 50 laps again," She bit her lips when she didn't see her around, "No, no," She shook her head, she paused and then turned to Kevin, "Kevin go zoom into her room and wake her up before Mr. Alpha King arrives?" She asked him.

"That won't be necessary," They heard Reagan speak from behind causing Conner to snap her head in his direction, he smiled at them wishing them a good morning, "Oh and the one you're worried about," he looked at Conner and then pointed at a direction, "there she is," He added.

Alexa, dressed in her full lengthed maroon tracksuit was stretching her body, noticing her friends, she waved at them, finishing her warm-up she joined them.

They were all surprised to see her arrive even before them.

"Now that's my Alex." Lia hugged her best friend as she patted her head proudly.

"Good morning, guys." Alexa greeted them with a cheerful smile.

"I see you're early today. I'm impressed." Reagan appreciated.

"Well, getting ready to bring you down?" She shrugged.

"Good. 50 laps then." He smiled giving a nod.

"Again?" Conner and Murphy looked at each other in horror.

"But, well, not that we mind, Let's go, sis." Murphy looked at her sister, she raised a brow at him, "50, again?"

"Come on!" He pulled her to the track, the twins then nodded in agreement.

A gust of air passed by them and then they heard Alexa's voice calling out to them from far ahead, "You're going to be left behind," She shouted.

"When did she reach there?" Murphy had a look of surprise on his face.

"Let's catch up, bro." Conner nodded as she moved her legs, Murphy followed his twin.

"What sort of magic did you pull on her?" Lia eyed her brother suspiciously.

"Jealous?" Reagan laughed.

As the brother and sister duo bickered, Kevin, narrowed his eyes at Alexa who was far ahead of Conner and Murphy, "Hey, don't you think she's improved a lot?"

"Dude, it was just a day ago she ran those 50 miles, how can she improve in a day?" Tyler looked at Kevin.

"That's what I'm telling, it's just been a day and look they are having a hard time catching up to her." He pointed out the difference.

"Now that you've mentioned it," Lia muttered as she looked on, "Did you find a way to unleash her powers?" She then turned to her brother for the answers.

"Maybe?" He shrugged, "now if you excuse me, I need to catch up," Reagan within a second surpassed the twins and ran beside Alexa.

"Is it because she's not resisting anymore?" Kevin tilted his head as he looked on.

"Close your mouth and breathe from your nose," Reagan advised as he ran beside her, "Saves energy," He added.

"Why are you here?" She asked.

"I won't just order you around, I promised to help you, didn't I?" His brows quirked up, "Now focus on your breathing," He told her, she nodded as they continued to run.

After an hour of the run, he gestured her to stop, "Why?" She asked panting, "Let's take a short break," He suggested.

"But...I... can..." She couldn't complete her sentence.

"We're resting, no arguments," He grabbed both of her shoulders and made her sit down, now "Deep breath in and a deep breath out," he instructed.

She did as she was told, after 10 minutes of break they ran again. Taking mini-breaks in between they completed 50 laps in 3hrs.

"Well done guys. You've improved a lot." Reagan gave them a round of applause.

Conner, Muphy, and Alexa laid on their back as they looked at the brightly lit sky. Resting for few minutes, they helped themselves up.

"Great, now we'll meet here after 2 hours, go have some rest." Reagan dismissed them.

After having their breakfast, they returned to the training ground, "What're we doing next?" Alexa asked excitedly.

"Eager are we." Reagan's lips curled up.

"I need to surpass you, for that, I need to catch up to you first." She nodded.

"Good to see your enthusiasm, now go fetch." He threw a stick up in the air which landed nearly a mile away, Alexa stood there with her mouth open.

"What am I? a dog?" She glared at him.

"Instead of complaining, go and fetch that." he gestured.

She stood there not moving an inch, "You're serious?"

"Yes." He nodded.

"But-" She tried to protest.

"10...9..." He began the countdown.

"that's-"

"8...7..."

"You don't play fair." She narrowed her eyes at him.

"6..."

"Okay, fine." She ran to fetch the stick.

"Should we go too?" Murphy asked.

"Don't bother, he's just getting his revenge," Tyler explained, "Right?" He turned to Reagan with a teasing smile on his face.

"Revenge?" Conner tilted her head in confusion.

"Just some precious memories from his childhood, right doggy?" Lia winked.

"Shut up." His eyes glared in her direction. He then turned his gaze to Alexa who was running to fetch the stick, his gaze softened, he stifled his laugh as he heard her mutter series of curses at him, indeed it was one of the precious memories he thought reminiscing.
