21.

In room 211 at The Mulberry Hotel six people have come together. All six people, along with one other, who in this moment so happens to be staying at the local hospital, are suffering from total memory loss only. Even at this very early stage and separately, something is returning, not very much is coming back but between them all there is something. There are clues too, some unreliable, others intentional, and if everything can be brought together or put together then who knows what may come from it?

One thing is as to if they can all work together and be honest with one another completely to a point where everything and anything can be discussed honestly, truthfully, and openly and without letting doubt set in then a forward motion may come, though what if doubt is what can aid a forward motion to be just that?

Conversation and discussion begin, bringing everyone up to speed as to how everyone woke to their memory loss, where their waking moment took place and how it is they all came to be here, and the discussion also brings in all which also has Sander being where he is as well as having the information Archer received via Sander being brought to the table.

Everyone including Bonnie and apart from Archer do the whole head search thing finding no signs of any head surgery among any of them. No evidence at all is detected. If they all are connected with some kind of implants, then there are no obvious signs as to how such a thing may have come about. It is also possible that if whatever it is in Sander's head is in his head alone, then he may be the only one affected by whatever the heck it is though if seven people wake in the same town on the same day all with the effects of memory loss it could be safe to say that they are all affected by the same thing.

Despite it already having been spoken of rather briefly, a question comes as to how exactly this room came about and a thought is spoken out loud that if this room was booked and paid for prior to the any moment of waking with memory loss had occurred then could this room be bugged? Is it possible that these people right here right now are being watched or listened to, could they be subjects in some sort of experiment?

This brings a moment of Henry feeling rather stupid, not because of the discussion of the possibilities as to if room 221 is bugged somehow but rather to the fact of possibly having Archer identified. Siobhan down at the reception desk had been able to tell Henry that a Doctor Archer had paid for the room on the day previous to when Bonnie woke in this room with no memory.

Siobhan obtained this information through a computer she worked at so she herself did not see a Doctor Archer, so if she hadn't then maybe someone else who works at the hotel has. Taking up a leader's role once again, Henry informs Archer that he needs him to accompany Henry himself down to the lobby for an experiment of his own. Archer takes offence to a couple of things in this moment.

'Who made you group leader? It's not like we have taken any kind of vote or anything of the likes?'

'I am only trying to get somewhere here, possibly putting two and two together' Henry says as calmly as possible, not wanting any arguments to break out. It is understandable that there is agitation, if anything there should be a lot more of it at this point or prior to this point, but if at all possible, it best to be calm or as calm as can be whenever possible.

'Get somewhere my ass ... if anyone of us knows more than we are letting on then that would be you.'

'I'm not hiding anything Archer, c'mon, no need to freak out.'

'Freak out, no need to freak out ... really? Why don't you tell everyone about your little secret huh? Since we are having an open discussion here ... we may as well get everything out in that open.'

Bonnie is not liking any of this at all, she had turned to see what is happening only to return her gaze back to a wall, a plain uninteresting wall. Sue is surprised at this moment and the twins are intrigued to watch the moment play out.

'Secret? What secret?' asks the blue suit wearing brother.

'Don't worry; there is no secret, at least none that matters. What do we call you guys by the way?'

'Don't change the subject, I see what you are doing, and it only proves to me you are hiding something' says Archer getting louder almost with every word.

'You guys can call me Blue and him Red, if that works ... by the way don't let me stop your conversation.'

'C'mon, we can go sit over a coffee for a bit and we can get absolutely everything out, what do ya say?' Henry says to Archer. 'Do you guys' mind? I want to put Archer at ease, nothing is being hidden and I have a few questions to ask of the staff downstairs. It might just get things rolling.'

'Yeah sure' says Blue.

'No problem' says Red.

Henry turns to Sue 'will you and Bonnie be alright with that?'

'Yeah go, we will be fine. We'll send down one of the twins after you if we need you guys but don't be too long.'

'Got ya ...'

'Oh ... and if you can' says Red. 'Bring back some goodies from the bar; whatever they have if that is alright?'

'Not a problem.'

Archer looks at Henry for a second or two, too right it isn't a problem he thinks but doesn't say such and with that he follows Henry out of the room.

'So, what's that all about?' asks Henry once he and Archer are well away from the room.

'Don't try and hide it for you are not doing such a good job of that. I know you have money and plenty of it.'

Henry stops and faces Archer. 'Yeah, you are right, there is a lot of money.'

'Then why haven't you spoken of it?'

'I don't know where it came from. I might have robbed it before my memory loss, or I might owe someone. It could be ransom money for all I know.'

'That is your excuse, really?'

'Sure, think about it. I woke up in the middle of a field with a bag full of money and a nice car off on some side dirt road. I could have been going somewhere. What if someone comes looking for that money knowing I have it and manages to find me?'

'Alright, I can understand hiding it when you began coming across us but now it must be clear, no one is coming for you. That money must have come from whatever the hell we have got ourselves into.'

'Yeah Archer, you may be right, but the truth is we still know very little. For now, we have to keep it quiet. Until we do get somewhere, I think the best thing is to use the money sparingly, you know we've seven nights in that hotel room, we can feed ourselves and get whatever we may need but after that ... it might not feel like it, but it is still early days, others may still come.'

'OK, I'll keep it quiet for now. Right, what is your great experiment you've been going on about? Perhaps we'll see if we can get an answer or two.'

'C'mon, we'll get a coffee first and I'll tell you.'

Yeah, this may be a second day of memory loss and there are the odd tid-bits of stuff coming back and with it being five in the afternoon, Archer knows he would rather have alcohol than coffee, a pint perhaps, yeah beer sounds good, his drink of choice quite likely though a particular brand is probably just beyond him for the moment though coffee right now will have to do.

Making their way down into the lobby and into the hotel bar, neither Henry nor Archer pay any attention to anyone else who may be nearby. If they had paid a little more attention to their surroundings, then they may have recognized something. A young lad and a young lady are sitting next to one another, and they have been here more or less since the day prior.

Both Henry and Archer may barely recognize the young lady as being someone who passed them by in the corridor outside room 211 on day one when Henry was making an effort to convince Archer to at least hang on for a moment or two after having arrived for the first time, and this recognition could possibly come if time is taken to pay any attention to the surroundings but neither man is in any way considering the current surroundings.

Henry too, on his own, could have cause to kind of recognize the young lad who is next to the lady in question, if she were in question. Yeah, the young lad, if time had been taken, could be recognized as being someone Henry had bought an éclair and a hot drink for, having arrived in town not long after having woken in a field. Both occurrences of proximity indeed had transpired on day one of memory loss though indeed as the journey into the bar is made, no recognition of anyone comes at all.

'There is someone who works here who I got your number from, I've told you this and it was why I presumed you were this Doctor Archer fellow. Doctor Archer, whether this is you or not, booked and paid for room 211. Now Siobhan, the lady who works here, got the information from her computer terminal so she does not know what Doctor Archer looks like but maybe someone else does. If he came here to pay for the room, which was paid for two days ago, then maybe someone knows if this or you or not.'

'Right, that sounds like a thought to me. If my identity either is or is not confirmed, then what?'

'No idea but at least it could be something one way or the other.'

Phones are currently charged; Siobhan had seen to that at Henry's request. Of these phones Henry has one as does Archer; sure, this is how they managed to come into contact. The phone Archer has is resting on the table right next to his coffee and it soon begins to ring and this surprises both men. Who could be ringing? Archer had forgotten at first but soon remembered and it was the coffee that brought it back to him.

He had given that coffee lady friend of Sander's, his number, it may not be her of course calling, there are no numbers saved into the phone so no caller identification can come through other than the number itself. When the call is answered, it is confirmed that it is her, the coffee lady friend of Sander. The call is a short one.

'What was that about?' asks Henry.

'Our little experiment will have to wait, put it on the list with that building of mine. Sander's lady friend, I asked her to call me if she is at the hospital and they want to do anything with our friend. Apparently, they do. Surgery, they want to get in at whatever is in Sander's head.'

'What, as in right now? Bit extreme that, we can't have that, can we?'

'I don't know if it could be a good or not so good thing which makes me believe all the more that I am no doctor. Best be getting over there and get some answers of a different kind. I think I should head over.'

'Want some company?'

'Yeah, may be best if we go together.'

'Right, do you want to go get the car and bring it round front? I'll head up to the room and leave them my phone. They can ring the one you have if they need anything.'

'Alright, we'll want to get there fairly sharply, go get them some goodies from the bar first.'

'Yeah, I will.'

In room 211, Henry explains briefly and leaves the phone he has and an amount of money so those staying here can eat and have a means of contact. Then, he is gone but no further than the corridor outside the room for he is greeted by two others, and this is quite surprising to say the least.
