I've been doing some reflecting, because the feedback I got genuinely worried me. I got worried because friendship is a huge part of this book, but that clearly hasn't been coming through.

After reviewing my plan again, I think I see where I went wrong. I've written a lot of chapters, but in terms of the timeline in the book, not a lot of time has passed. That's why it feels so slow, because I was worried that I'd rush into the friendships.

For example, we haven't seen much of KJ yet, but an upcoming chapter for him will delve into his life a little more, and that's when we'll start to see small changes in the friendships. Because a character like KJ isn't going to open up easily, but none of the other characters know why because he hasn't told them yet.

So that's why the friendships are taking longer to form. I haven't forgotten them, they are just a lot further along in my plan than I originally thought.

Having said that, the feedback about seeing different people interact is feedback I've gotten on my books before. I tend to find nice friendship dynamics and stick to them, and that usually means I neglect other potential friendships.

That is something I need to work on, and has been a reoccurring issue for me. Thank you for the feedback regarding it, because now I know it's something I really need to work on.

Please be patient with me because I know I'll make a lot of mistakes, but I hope you'll find atleast one thing enjoyable about the books moving forward.

I also want to thank you for giving feedback so nicely. It can feel like a kick to the teeth, or like someone's basically saying your work is rubbish at first, but feedback actually really helps me, and I've got enough self-awareness to know that I'm not the best writer. Every day is a learning day. But I do really appreciate that you word your feedback in a respectful way.
