Vevina took a deep breath, the tension in the air something she was already use to. She felt grateful that her parents had both come to help her settle in, she just wished that they could at least be slightly cordial with each other. She felt even more grateful that she was in this car and not the one with her Aunt and Uncle.

It had only been this week that Vevina could even look at them and not burst into tears. They resembled her cousin, who was not invited, so much that it hurt Vevina to look at them. The wound still fresh.

She let her thoughts wonder, done with trying to come up with a conversation topic that won't end in an argument. Vevina wondered if it was her fault all this was happening. All the tension and disconnection the last few months had brought.

Oak let out a small meow, drawing her attention. Vevina felt herself smile, her only friend left. She placed her hand on the front of the cage letting Oak rub against it the best he could.

Vevina felt the tension leave her body, ready for a new beginning.

Kokomi adjusted herself, looking away from the window for a moment. She was glad her father had listened to her and booked a regular seat. Kokomi looked at the two empty seats next to her, a cute couple had been sitting there. They both had to 'use the bathroom' about 20 minutes ago.

She accepted she wouldn't see them for another 10 more. Kokomi took the time to look at the other passengers on the plane. None of them seemed to recognize her, luckily. It's exactly what she wanted and needed.

There were a few people, alone like her. Others were with someone else, a friend, maybe. There was one family, rowdy but it didn't bother her. She kept her eyes on them the longest. The father had 'whispered' something to the children that made them burst out laughing.

Something similar to jealousy burrowed into her chest, but it also made her feel lighter at the same time. This is what she needed. It's something she had been repeating to herself the entire plane ride. It's something she believed. 'A new beginning', a maid had muttered before she had left.

And a new beginning it was.

RJ took a deep breath, feeling the sweat on his face. It was still relatively warm, so spending an hour loading boxes into his truck probably wasn't the best idea. When he turned around he was met with his mom and dad's faces.

Amalee was holding back tears while Rhyson had an arm around her shoulder, both had pride beaming in their eyes. RJ shut the trunk to his jeep, mostly to avoid his parent's eyes. The overwhelming feeling starting to get to him.

Everhade was luckily in his hometown, so his parents were going to drive alongside him then help him unpack at the dorms. RJ was glad he could stay by his family, you'd think he'd also be glad to be near his friends, but he never really made any long lasting ones.

He was popular, sure, but those were just passing friends. Not ones he could have a deep conversation with. You think he'd be sad about it, not having much friends. But RJ just took it as a challenge.

To make new friends, to begin anew.

Carina didn't care if she went deaf as long as it was because of good music. MARINA blasted out of the speakers of her parents old car. She knew her mom only let her play this music because of the smile on her face. Very few things truly helped bring out Carina's true colors, especially since her dad died.

She really is only going to this college because of the look on her mom's face when she saw the letter. Pride. It was nice to see. Carina hadn't seen it in a long time. One thing she wasn't excited about was the dorms.

Having gotten the email that she was rooming with eight other people, excluding the RA, Carina could already tell that she wasn't going to enjoy whatever band of weirdos and freaks she was going to be placed with.

Her mom told her to look on the bright side, think about it as a new beginning or experience. Something to broaden her horizons. But Carina knew two things.

She didn't want any broadening, and she didn't need a new beginning.

Alaska could feel the tears drying on her face as the wind blew across her face. She had been driving for 30 minutes and she could already feel the anxiety clawing at her. But all she had to do was take some deep breaths and focus on the sound the wind was making around her.

She had gotten one last appointment with her counselor before packing up her few belongings. Ms. Honey had given her a few good techniques to try and keep the anxiety at bay. It would still be in the back of her mind but at least she knew how to keep it from overwhelming her.

One thing that helped calm her was the free housing, one thing that didn't calm her was the amount of people staying in that same housing. Alaska only had a few minutes to skim the email, having to help watch her little siblings, but she knew that there was going to be eight people.

The only thing she could hope for was that they had separate rooms. Alaska was only going there for the cheap cost, she just needed to get her degree then she could move back home and help her parents once again. It had been the only concrete thing in Alaska's mind as she knitted, then painted, then boxed, then whatever hobby was after that. All she knew was that she just needed to get this 'new thing' out of the way and done.

This 'new beginning' was only to help her improve for herself and her family.

August could feel the excitement in his bones. The scenery passing by quickly as the train sped by. Even if it wasn't his first choice, he was still excited for what college was going to bring him. How he can approve.

He looked to his side and saw him grandmother, serene as she crocheted what he can assume is a scarf. August looked to the seat in front of him where his grandfather was sleeping soundly. August was trying to keep himself from vibrating in his seat.

Everything about Everhade felt like a dream. Free rooming, a train ride from his parents, and it had about everything. August knew he was going to love it. He checked his phone one more time, just to see if his mom had responded. It had only been an hour so the delivered at the bottom of his message didn't bother him too much.

She was a busy women. She'd get back to him when she could. She'd be proud of how well he is already adjusting even if it is only a train ride. She'll respond. August put his phone down and took a deep breath.

Focusing on the new beginning this train ride would bring.

Catalina could understand the weird looks people were giving her. They were scream singing Alec Benjamin just five minutes ago. But it was only to entertain Mouse, her cat. Plus it was one of his best songs.

A smile had been permanently on their face for the past, probably, 5 hours. Catalina liked long drives, ones where she could just forget everything and annoy the cars next to them at a stop light. Mouse meowing every few notes also helped.

Only one story worthy thing had happened to her so far, some jagoff flipped them off. For no reason. Okay, maybe because, there was a chance, she had cut him off. But that doesn't matter. He shouldn't have done it and they rightfully told him to 'fuck off'. Otherwise it's a pretty normal trip.

During the five hours she let herself think aimlessly. Catalina's mind got stuck on their roommates. She was excited to meet them, but uncertain at the same time. They just hoped none of them were buzzkills or racists. That would make joint rooms very awkward. College was a last minute decision so if some weird roommates ruined it, she'd be pissed.

The next song played and Catalina let their mind forget about this sudden new beginning.

Katerina felt a polite smile appear on her face as she slid past a women to get to her seat. Despite riding a plane to get to her college, she still had to take a bus to fully get to her dorms. Her father had told her he'd call a car for her before she had left that morning for the airport. Alas after waiting in the hot, hot airport she'd given up.

Luckily she had found a bus that stopped exactly where she needed. She took a seat close to the second door in the back. It was a 30 minute bus ride and it was already too crowded for Katerina's taste. She pulled out her laptop, relishing in its cold surface.

She let her eyes flash over to her phone as it lit up, hoping for a message from one of her family members, all she got was a Facebook notification. Katerina went back to her computer, content to do something productive. Katerina saw the comforting green owl, pressing it unconsciously.

Grabbing her headphones from her bag, putting them on, ready to continue her romanian lessons. Before the app expanded on her screen, her email had been left open, showing the reminder about where her dorm was. She closed it quickly.

Wanting to get lost in another language, not in another beginning.

Tobias couldn't guess how long he had been stuck in the same tense position. His father was next to him, driving him to his new home for the next few months. Tobias doesn't even know why his dad offered. Probably to make sure he didn't cause any trouble on the way there.

He had given up on any kind of conversations 2 hours ago. Tobias lied to himself, thinking that the awkwardness would dissipate but it had not. For 2 hours, he had looked out his closed window hoping his father would trying to break the tension.

Now he was pulling out his book, berading himself for thinking this drive would be anything better than any interaction they'd ever had. His father was a mean and jealous man, Tobias was going to a damn good college. Those two things don't mix.

Turning to the page that had the most recent tab on it, Tobias tried to force his eyes to read the words. It took a few minutes but finally he could feel himself getting lost in the story. Worries and tension fading away.

The worry that this new beginning, will be just as bad as his old one.

Zariah wiped a hand against her forehead again, regretting deciding to wait for her Freshmen to arrive. She had been sitting on the bench outside the door for probably 20 minutes and she was already overheating.

She looked at her phone, seeing a thumbs up from her mom. She smiled, feeling lighter than before. Zariah wasn't really excited to have to show around these, from it looks, overachievers. Half of the people she had seen in the email had gotten in because of their excellent grades. A few seemed like they'd be fun to get a drink with but other than that she didn't expect to be having heart to hearts with any of them.

It was slightly disappointing. Zariah had this small bubble of hope in her chest that maybe she could make friends with some of them but she should have known it was a lost cause. She had been at Everhade for a year, and yeah it's a great school but she hasn't really found any lifelong friends.

She leaned her head against the back of the bench, sighing. Maybe her mom was just lucky, finding such a good person to spend her life with platonically. Maybe Zariah should just accept a life of partying and calling her mom. Her thoughts were cut off when she heard a car park in front of her, or a bus. She couldn't tell with her eyes closed.

Opening her eyes, she prepared to show these Freshmen their new 'shitty' beginning.

Notes ! ˊˎ

Prologue is out, and honestly I'm proud of myself for the new beginning's link with them all. But anyway they're all on their way.

Do you think your Oc would get there early, late, or in the mid range?

As always did I get your Oc wrong in anyway? Please let me know.

Enjoy!
