"Taehyung! Welcome," Yoongi said, red solo cup already in his hand as he opened the door wider. "Glad you could make it."

I took my shoes off and walked down the hallway, my sock-cladded feet dragging every step of the way.

I would much rather be hanging out with Namjoon, but he encouraged me to go make friends with people in the orchestra. "They're your people," he had said.

I took in a deep breath as I saw the living room filled with several people from the orchestra, all with plastic cups in their possession.

Yoongi cleared his throat, handing me a plastic cup and raising his own. I watched as everyone in the room raised their cups in turn.

"You all know our newest violinist, Taehyung! I invited him to get to know us a little better."

Assorted welcomes and hellos were heard from the group of maybe ten people. They took simultaneous sips of their drinks, which I followed quickly after.

••

"So, Yoongi," the timpanist gained the attention of the host. "When's Jungkook getting here?"

Yoongi shrugged. "You know how he is. He'll be here at some point."

I leaned close to the person next to me, a double bass player named Jaehyeong. "Jungkook is coming?"

The male nodded, taking a sip of his drink. I wasn't going to comment on the fact that he was now on his seventh drink, and was very obviously drunk. "Yeah. He's Yoongi man's best friend."

"Oh." I felt my face flush as I stood up. "Yoongi, um, where's the bathroom?"

He gave a slight smirk before directing me to a door down the hall, slightly ajar as I approached.

After closing the door, I leaned against the bathroom sink with a sigh. I pinched the skin of my thighs through my jeans and whispered to myself. "You can do this."

Social situations never made me very comfortable, yet here I was, surrounded by drunk people, in an unfamiliar house, with people I have never talked with.

I splashed some water on my face before letting out a deep breath, opening the bathroom door to get back to the hangout.

Yoongi nodded towards my cup as I sat back down. "I went ahead and filled your cup up for you. Hope you don't mind."

"I-It's fine. Thanks, Yoongi."

He went back to talking with the timpanist, whose name I still didn't know.

I took a sip of my drink before deciding to down the cup in one go. I needed to loosen up. Joon was right. I need to branch out.

••

Three cups later and the room was spinning. The sounds around me were louder, and almost slowed down. I was currently dancing to the tune playing through the speakers when I heard the opening of the front door, and Yoongi's voice shortly after.

"Kook! You made it!"

The conductor nodded, greeting everyone and grabbing a cup. He poured himself a small amount of whiskey before making eye contact with me.

"Taehyung? What are you doing here?"

I merely danced, my brain not comprehending any words to form a proper response.

Yoongi chuckled. "I invited him."

Jungkook's eyebrows furrowed. "Okay.... You don't normally invite new people. What's up?"

Yoongi shrugged. "He seems interesting."

I giggled, stumbling forward to be closer to the conductor. "J-J-Jungkook-ah!"

He caught me before I fell, giving my shoulders a squeeze. "Yoongi, how much has he had to drink?"

The pianist frowned. "Do I look like a babysitter? I have no fucking clue."

Jaehyeong scoffed. "Dude, you've been providing him each cup. He's had like three, he shouldn't be plastered like that."

I felt the conductor pull away from me, keeping me at shoulder's length as he squinted at my face.

I couldn't help but giggle, a small snort erupting from my chest. I reached up a finger and poked his nose. "Boop!"

Jungkook's lips formed a thin line as he faced his best friend once more. "You put drugs in his liquor?"

Yoongi recoiled. "Now, why would I do that?"

The ravenette rolled his eyes. "Clearly he has drugs in his system on top of the alcohol. He has bloodshot eyes and pinpoint pupils, I'm not an idiot. I know you like to liven up the party, Yoongi, but we're supposed to be drug tested tomorrow!"

The pianist merely shrugged, taking a large sip of his drink. "How would I know that? They're surprise drug tests, hmm?"

Jungkook pursed his lips and wrapped my arm around his shoulders, one of his arms finding a home on my waist. "You and I will discuss this later, Yoongi. I'm getting Tae out of here."

"Noo! I wanna stay!" I pouted, watching the conductor shake his head, pushing a stray hair behind my ear.

"Not now, baby, okay?" He whispered so only I could hear it. "Let's get you into a nice, soft bed, yeah?"

I nodded, feeling him practically drag me to his Prius, immediately driving a few blocks before parking in front of an unfamiliar building.

"Let's go." He put his keys in his pocket and helped me out of the car.

"No bed! I wanna play!" I skipped down the street, hearing a loud sigh behind me before quick footsteps approached.

I squealed as strong arms lifted me off the ground, spinning me in a circle.

"We can play tomorrow. It's time to get inside. It's not safe outside this late."

Lmao I decided to not make Jimin a bad guy in this chapter! Changing it up for once.🤣
