"Okay, tell me again."

Gabriella moved the palm of her hand from under her chin and ran it across her face, suppressing a tired sigh. She spent the last two days constantly working with Bellamy and Clarke on how to get into Mount Weather and they didn't get far.

"It's a labyrinth." Clarke repeated "We got to the dam through this tunnel."

Both Gabriella and Bellamy looked down at the map Clarke drew of Mount Weather to look at the tunnel she was pointing at.

"It's connected to the mine system. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 our way in."

Bellamy huffed, seeming just as tired as Gabriella was "Sure, if we can get past the reapers and the Mountain Men. I swear to god, if your mom doesn't sanction a mission soon, I'm going by myself."

Gabriella scoffed and didn't even think twice before answering "You won't be by yourself."

The eldest Blake gave her a side glance accompanied by a grateful smile before his attention turned to something - or rather someone - over her shoulder. Gabriella turned around and followed his gaze to see Finn and Murphy walking across camp.

"Guess the inquisition over." Bellamy mused blankly, turning around to give Clarke a curious look "How's Finn doing anyway?"

"Yeah, and where's Jaha Jr.?" Gabriella chimed in, resting her chin in the palm of her hand "I haven't seen you two talking since you two were all lovey-dovey and hooking up in the woods."

A faint blush crept along Clarke's neck and straight towards her cheeks and she gave her co-leaders a sheepish shrug "I haven't talked to Finn since we got back. I don't know what to say and Wells and I . . . I don't even know what happened between us."

"Did you have a fight?" Gabriella raised a curious eyebrow.

"He said some stuff and I . . . " the youngest Griffin realised a sad sigh "didn't."

"Oh."

Bellamy shifted awkwardly and completely tensed when Finn appeared behind Clarke's back with a somehow sheepish expression on his face.

"Hey." the Collins boy greeted.

"Hi." Gabriella blinked, smiling up at him sarcastically before turning to look at Bellamy - who was looking as awkward as she felt.

"Teenage drama alert." she stated bluntly, ignoring the deadpan look Clarke shot at her and grabbed her and Bellamy's cup.

"Great." Bellamy awkwardly cleared his throat and got to his feet "Next round's on you."

Gabriella gave Clarke and Finn one last toothy grin and a two finger salute before dragging Bellamy away and leaving the two to sulk in their awkwardness.

When the pair of leaders reached the bar, Gabriella quickly recovered from the previous awkwardness and shot the curly-headed brunette bartender a flirty grin "Hey, Martin. Refill?"

Bellamy's eyebrows shot up in surprise when the bartender Gabriella knew as Gina easily returned the grin "Hey, El. Long time no see."

"I've been busy." the blonde shrugged cooly, biting her bottom lip "How about that refill?"

"Coming right up."

Gabriella stopped her ogling at Gina's retreating figure when Bellamy nudged their elbows together and raised an eyebrow at her "An old friend?"

"Yeah, something like that." Gabriella chuckled to herself, finding his awkwardness amusing and slightly cute.

"Have you talked to Murphy at all since we came back?"

"Nope." Gabriella admitted with a sigh "I honestly don't think I'm ready to forgive him for what he did back at the dropship."

"Well, you can always sleep with someone else, get that asshole out of your system." Bellamy suggested, his lips tugging into a lazy but flirtatious smirk and unlike any other time, Gabriella easily returned it.

"Oh, I'm working on it, Freckles." and just on cue, Gina walked back up to them with two cups full of moonshine, flashing both of them an easygoing grin, before she turned back to other customers.

Bellamy shook his head with a chuckle "I was thinking of someone that will easily piss Murphy off and I'm pretty sure he'd be pretty happy to be a rebound."

"Sorry, Freckles, but I'd rather not take relationship advice from a walking STD." Gabriella shot back and took a sip of the moonshine from her cup.

"Hilarious."

And then someone approaching Clarke and Finn's table caught her attention and she instantly rolled her eyes. She glared at the back of Murphy's head before getting up "I'll be back in a second, I just have to stop John from making that conversation even more awkward."

"You tell her we were cleared." she heard Murphy ask when she made her way towards the table, standing behind him and Clarke.

"We don't care." Gabriella snapped, glaring down at him "Go bother someone else now that you know they won't lock you up yet."

"Well, looks like our pardon for surviving includes our time on the ground. Now we got bigger fish to fry, I guess" Murphy said, ignoring Gabriella's attitude towards him and just flashing her a charming grin that would have her swooning a few weeks ago but not now. Not after he broke her trust like that.

"We did what we had to do." Finn answered but his eyes were locked solemnly on Clarke. He seemed to snap out of it and quickly got to his feet "I got to go."

"Well you sure know how to clear a room." Gabriella told her former best friend, before pursing her lips awkwardly as the spacewalker rushed away from the table.

Murphy whistled awkwardly from beside her "Trouble in paradise?"

"Oh, for Gods' sake." Gabriella muttered in annoyance and gripped the neck of Murphy's jacket so he'd get up from his seat "Come on you're out, we're busy."

Her harsh words clearly made him sober up and he got up to look at her seriously "Can we talk?"

"There's nothing to talk about." Gabriella brushed him off, about to walk towards her previous seat when Murphy firmly but gently grabbed a hold of her wrist.

"Ellie, please."

-

That's how Gabriella found herself standing in front of her newly claimed room with her arms crossed over her chest, staring up at Murphy impatiently.

"I'm sorry."

A beat passed before Gabriella raised an unimpressed eyebrow "Is that it?"

"I realized I never apologized in the first place and I feel like such an idiot for all the mistakes I made." Murphy started, looking down at his feet, not daring to meet her eyes.

Gabriella let out a scoff "Which mistakes are we talking about, you killing multiple teenagers, you locking Jasper up in the dropship and threatening to kill him, you shooting Raven and Wells or you hanging Bellamy? I seriously lost count."

"Look, I'm sorry okay." Murphy sighed in defeat "How many more times do you want me to say it? I was too blinded by my need for revenge to actually stop and think about what the right thing to do was."

"So what was your plan? Hang Bellamy then kill every person he cares about?" Gabriella retorted, her blue eyes narrowed into a hard glare.

"Not everyone." Murphy quickly shot back "Not you. Never you."

Gabriella felt her hard features melt into one of defeat "What do you want me to say, John? That I forgive you? Because I don't."

"Trust me, Ellie, I don't expect you to. I know what I did was messed up and I know I lost your trust but if you could just think about giving me a second--"

"Ella!"

The sound of Raven's voice tore Gabriella's attention away from Murphy's ranting and she turned around to see the mechanic standing at the beginning of the hall "Go get Wells from his room and meet us at the workshop, I found something."

Gabriella gave her a nod and turned to give Murphy a hesitant look "I'll think about it, okay? But no promises."

After that, she turned around to make her way to get Wells, but not before seeing the relieved look on Murphy's face.

-

"Okay, Grumpy, get up." Gabriella ordered, marching into Wells' room without bothering to knock.

The book that was previously in his hands, fell onto his face with a 𝘵𝘶𝘥 and he groaned in pain "What the fuck, Ella?"

"What?" Gabriella tilted her head in false innocence "Get up, we have work to do if you want to get out friends out of there before there are none of them left to save. Raven found something?"

"Will Clarke be there?" Wells asked, the book Gabriella now saw was 𝘏𝘢𝘮𝘭𝘦𝘵, still laying on his face.

"Yup." the blonde said blankly, leaning her shoulder against the doorframe "I have no idea what actually happened between you but you need to get over it and get your ass outside."

"Can I ask you something?" the youngest Jaha asked, completely ignoring every single word the girl in front of him just said.

Gabriella blinked, looking and feeling terribly bored "No."

"I need advice from someone that knows what they're doing but I don't want a lot of criticism or judgment." Wells added, finally removing the book from his face and sitting up on his bed to look at Gabriella properly.

Her confusion only grew at his words and she almost scoffed " . . . and you're asking me?"

Wells ran a hand over his face "You're Clarke's girl best friend and you're sorta mine too--"

"We're not friends."

"Just pretend that we are for a second!"

"What? Do you need dating advice or something?" Gabriella asked sarcastically. When she was greeted with nothing but awkward silence she barked out a laugh "Oh my, Gods, you do!"

"I told Clarke I loved her and she kinda dumped me." Wells admitted hesitantly, refusing to meet Gabriella's eyes.

Gabriella's face morphed into one of realization and she felt a spark of sympathy in her chest "Look, Jaha, Clarke has a lot going on, I mean we all do and I'm not saying that dumping you was the best way to deal with what you said but maybe give her some space. Not in the way you're doing right now by avoiding anyone seeing you and pretending like you don't exist but just . . . be there for her? I don't really know, I'm not great at giving relationship advice but I know that platonically or romantically, Clarke needs you."

"Thanks, Ella." Wells said with a ghost of a smile, as if her words were exactly what he needed to hear "Just let me get dressed and I'll be ready to go."

-

"I figured out why we haven't heard from any of the other stations from The Ark. Mount Weather's jamming us." Raven explained as soon as Gabriella and Wells came into the workshop "I tweaked the resonator and got this."

She looked up at them expectantly and a few moments later, the sound of static left the radio. Gabriella's eyebrows shot up in surprise, silently connecting the dots. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘔𝘦𝘯 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘵𝘰 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘪𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘳𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮. 𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘤𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱.

"It's on every frequency." Raven answered Gabriella's silent question "Long-range communication is totally screwed. It's also why the range in our walkies sucks. It's the same signal Monty heard on the black box of the exodus ship."

And like that, Gabriella's mind connected the dots so quickly she thought she might get a headache "Mount Weather crashed the exodus ship."

Clarke gaped at the radio for a moment before asking "Can you get around the signal?"

"Around it? No." Raven shook her head "But if I can get to the tower that broadcasts it, I can make it go 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘮."

"Yeah, I'll go with you." Gabriella quickly added, glad she had an excuse to finally leave the hell Camp Jaha was.

But as always, her hopes were crushed when Abby Griffin stepped into the workshop.

"No one is going anywhere."

"Mom, listen to me--"

"What do I have to do to get through to you?" Abby asked, not even letting her daughter finish her sentence "You and your friends are not soldiers and continuing to act like you are putting lives in risk."

"You don't understand." Clarke exclaimed "Raven found something. Mount Weather is jamming out communications."

"It's true." Raven chimed, now standing shoulder to shoulder with Gabriella "There could be other Ark stations on the ground."

"Plus, more guards which increases our security and gives us more people for search parties." Wells added quickly "You said we don't have enough people to fight a war with the grounders 𝘢𝘯𝘥 the Mountain Men, well now we could have just enough."

"The grounder retaliation for the massacre could happen at any time, and when it does, we need every available man to defend this camp." Bryne told Abby, the woman already starting to get on Gabriella's nerves with her acting like Abby's second hand woman when she wasn't one.

"So let us go." Gabriella snapped, bringing their attention to her "We only need a couple of guns. Nothing less, nothing more."

Abby's eyes twinkled with amusement and she let her eyes flicker from Gabriella to her daughter "You're not gonna stop, are you?"

"Not until my friends are safe." Clarke shrugged and surprisingly, that was enough for Abby.

"Okay." the doctor agreed "But I'm coming with you."

"Ma'am, I just said." Bryne tried, only to have Abby shush her.

"It's been quiet for two days." the Griffin woman said "Maybe Kane is making headway with the Grounders' commander."

"Or maybe he's dead, and they're massing against us as we speak." Bryne pushed but Abby wasn't budging this time.

"Maybe . . . " she shrugged "which is why we need more guards."

"Then it's settled. We're going back to Mount Weather."

-

Gabriella felt a small smile creep onto her face as they went deeper into the woods a farther away from Camp Jaha. Staying in the new camp felt suffocating to her and she felt as if she was trapped in the skybox all over again.

"I can't believe they let Finn come." Octavia whispered - not even a little subtle - as she walked faster so she was walking with Gabriella, Bellamy and Wells, a deep scowl on her face.

"He's the best tracker we've got." Bellamy said blankly, before calling over his shoulder louder "Don't forget to look up. The grounders use the trees. That's how we lost John Mbege."

"I am so glad I didn't come with you guys that night." Gabriella sighed, blowing a piece of curly hair away from her eyes and scowling at how messy it became during her time on the ground. It's not like she was the type of girl that bothers about what her hair looks like but having it all up in your face could be distracting.

"You were fixing radios while I was getting stabbed, boo-hoo." Wells mocked, rolling his eyes half-heartedly.

Gabriella only shrugged in response "Well if you didn't have a hero complex to feed and stayed in camp or went with us, maybe 𝘚𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘦𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘦𝘳 would be the one that got stabbed and he would've died and now everything would be perfectly fine. So when we look at it that way, the massacre was really 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 fault."

"You're hilarious." Wells deadpanned, giving the blonde a side glare but it didn't have any heat in it and Gabriella could see he was trying to hide his amusement.

"I know."

-

The group finally reached a spot where they could see the tower that Mount Weather used to block their radio calls and communication.

"There. I see it." Raven announced, removing the binoculars from her eyes and passing them to Gabriella so she could look at where she was pointing at.

Gabriella positioned them in front of her eyes and nodded to herself when she caught sight of the tower "I see it."

She instantly passed the binoculars to Clarke so she could look at it herself.

"It will be dark soon." the youngest Griffin sighed, handing the binoculars to her mother and adding "We'll never spot the traps. We should set up camp here and leave at first light."

Both Gabriella and Raven nodded in agreement and turned around to start helping everyone set up the camp when Abby's voice interrupted them.

"We're missing three."

Gabriella visibly flinched and squeezed her eyes together, her face morphed into an awkward grimace. She was glad she turned around so Abby couldn't see her face. The truth was, Gabriella and Clarke formed a plan with Bellamy, Wells and Octavia so they could sneak off during the walk and go find an underground way into Mount Weather.

"Where the hell are they?" Abby asked, looking solemnly at her nervous-looking daughter.

Gabriella awkwardly whistled under her breath and looked at Raven, before nodding towards the corner of the clearing they were settling at, silently asking the mechanic if she wanted to set their stuff there.

Obviously not wanting to get between the mother-daughter drama either, Raven nodded and moved to the other side of camp with Gabriella.

Raven chose to take the minute of silence they had to bug Gabriella about her conversation with Murphy she walked into earlier "Did you forgive Murphy for what he did yet? We both know you can't stay mad at him for too long."

"No way." Gabriella scoffed, feeling a bit offended "After what he did to you? No way."

"You can't stay mad at him forever." the brunette raised an eyebrow.

"Watch me."

After a few more seconds of silence, Raven spoke up again "You and Murphy are like the apocalyptic Romeo and Juliet."

Gabriella only snorted sarcastically "Why? Because we were born in two different worlds?"

"No, because you're both unbelievable idiots." Raven smirked cooly.

"I'm going with them." both girls faintly heard Finn say and that was enough to spark Raven's interest and remove all playfulness from her face.

The brunette limped her way towards her ex-boyfriend as fast as she could "We need you here."

"Why? So you can keep an eye on me?" Finn asked, sounding way too aggressive towards Raven for Gabriella's liking.

His harsh attitude was soon moved towards a dazed looking Clarke "You'd have to be able to look at me to do that."

Gabriella scoffed and pressed a firm hand on his chest to move him away from both Raven and Clarke "Listen, buddy, I think you need a second to cool down. Keep the rifle here and go take a walk."

"What do you think I'm gonna do?" Finn snapped, pushing Gabriella away from him by wrapping his hand around her wrist firmly. His aggressive touch made her wince in pain and she glared up at him "Let go of me."

Her tone seemed to uncloud his senses and she could see the guilt in his eyes the second he came to his sense and let her out of his grasp "S-sorry." he took a step back and threw his rifle on the floor "I'm gonna go take that walk."

When he walked away, Gabriella looked at her wrist to see a bright red mark where his fingertips were gripping it. She looked up to see Raven looking down at her hand in worry and surprise, while Clarke was still looking at the spot Finn left.

"I'll go get him."

-

An hour after Clarke radioed and told everyone to hide into their tents because of acid fog, Gabriella found herself stuck in a tent with Raven and Abby, the fog surrounding the tent.

"Clarke? Clarke, do you read me?" Abby spoke into the radio for what felt like the hundredth time but the only response she got was radio static.

"We're closer to the source. It's swallowing short-range now, too." Raven explained but Abby ignored her and yelled her daughter's name into the radio again.

Gabriella fiddled with the radio some more when and snapped when Abby cursed under her breath, her constant whining not allowing her to focus "Clarke and Finn know these woods, they'll be fine."

"She left her pack, and her tent is in it." Abby snapped back making Gabriella roll her eyes.

"Finn knows a lot of secret bunkers here and I can't believe I'm saying this but she'll be fine if she stays with him." The youngest Kane explained "She'll be fine. Now can you please be quiet so I can focus?"

Abby nodded and Gabriella swore she heard Raven sniffle a chuckle but chose to ignore it and focused back on the radio, stopping her work as soon as she heard muffled voices coming through.

"What is that?" Abby quickly asked, Gabriella responding with a shake of her head "I have no idea. Hold on . . ."

"It sounds like they're jamming every frequency but this one. You hear that?" Raven chimed in, moving closer to the radio.

"This frequency is clear. We can hear something." Gabriella added with an excited grin.

"That sounds clear to you?" Abby tilted her head, her tone slightly deadpan.

"It will be once we crack the encryption." the blonde shrugged, watching Raven shuffle through her bag of supplies.

"Okay, English, Gabriella. What does that mean?"

Gabriella shared a mischievous look with Raven before turning to grin at Abby "It means we will be able to listen in on what happens in Mount Weather."

-

"What's taking so long?" Abby asked impatiently after not even half an hour of Gabriella and Raven working on clearing up the sound on the radio.

"We almost got it. Hold on a minute." Gabriella snapped, not taking her eyes off the radio.

"They're using a type of audio modulation here, like a feedback loop." Raven explained, clearly having more patience than the engineer besides her "We just need to pinpoint the origin of the loop, hone in on the pure transmission."

"Yeah," Gabriella muttered, trying with the front of the radio swiftly "Just give me a second to find the right . . . "

"Got it." the blonde engineer felt a smile ghost across her lips when someone started speaking through the radio, the voice almost perfectly clear ". . . 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬. 𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳."

"You did it." Abby smiled but Gabriella was too focused on trying to hear what was happening on the other side.

"𝘊𝘰𝘱𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵. 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘞𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦. 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘺. 𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳. 𝘕𝘰 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦. 𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳."

Then a different voice "𝘏𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘦𝘪𝘭 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘺𝘦𝘵? 𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳."

"𝘕𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦, 𝘴𝘪𝘳. 𝘊𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘵𝘺 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵. 𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳."

"𝘒𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘱𝘰𝘱 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘷𝘦, 𝘩𝘪𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯. 𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵."

"The veil." Abby repeated, looking between the two girls "They're talking about the fog."

"It's a weapon created by Mountain Men." Gabriella said, her eyes wide in realization.

"Which means they attacked us." Raven added, her dark brown eyes connecting with Gabriella's blue ones.

"Sergeant Porter?" Abby called out after checking and seeing the fog was still there.

"Yes, ma'am?"

"Build your bomb." the chancellor ordered "When that fog lifts, take the tower down. Copy?"

"I copy, ma'am."

"You sure that's a good idea?" Gabriella raised a challenging eyebrow "I mean, we're listening to the enemy. If you blow the antenna we won't have that advantage anymore."

"Don't blow it, and we won't make contact with any other Ark survivors, and we need those reinforcements, Gabriella." Abby explained.

Raven narrowed her eyes between the two "Tough call. I know what Clarke would do."

Gabriella smirked down at the floor, knowing those words were enough to have the chancellor on their side.

A/N: I'm having a crisis because when murphy said he'd never hurt gabi, he also said she's one of the few people bellamy cares about

I'm not exaggerating when I say that gabi would ditch both bellamy and john for raven

sorry if I seem like a finn hater but I kinda am so ig you're all gonna have to deal with it until he dies
