Sam looked around as the arrived at the carnival. He could already see Connor but he felt... Different. That's when they saw... Gar in his Tiger form.

"Guys, did we plan this far? If so, I wasn't really listening." Sam turned to them.

"Rachel, Sam. You go try help-" Dawn began as Gar was thrown across the carnival by Connor,"Go to him, quickly."

"I'm going forward." Donna nodded as her, Dawn, Kory and Anya walked forward.

Sam nodded and ran, with Rachel following behind, to where Gar was.

"Any ideas?" Donna asked.

"Hey Connor!" Kory shouted.

"That's- That's your idea? Hey Connor?" Anya blinked.

"You got anything better?" Kory asked.

"Guys, do you know why he's staring at us like that?" Dawn asked.

"Maybe cause you're dressed as a giant bird." Anya shrugged.

Dawn sighed,"Maybe someone should try talking to him?"

"Donna." Anya pointed.

"Wh- Why me?"

"I don't know, he's Kryptonian and you're Themyscirian! Maybe he'll relate." Anya hummed.

Donna sighed before walking up to Connor,"Hey... Connor."

Connor just stared at Donna.

"Look, I know this is all a little crazy but I think everyone should just calm down-"

That's when Donna felt a sharp punch to her cheek.

"You really can throw a punch." She held her cheek.

It didn't stop there, Connor kicked her back, he was really going for her.

"Hey, don't make me do something regret!" Kory ran up to Connor.

Connor just punched her, she regretted it now. Connor was about to hit her again when his arm was grabbed by someone... Hank!

"Let go of my friends-" Hank began before he began to choke.

"What do we do?" Anya cursed.

"We need Rachel." Dawn sighed.

Connor then let Hank and Kory go, shaking his head.

"He's being mind controlled." Anya studied Connor,"He's fighting back."

"Yes Connor, fight it!"

Connor then pushed them back, only to grab a blue smoke bomb, it exploding and he disappeared... But someone else showed up, Dick!

"Things were looking ugly here." Hank commented,"Like that suit."

"You all should know better." Dick hummed.

"He should be around here somewhere." Sam looked around as they ran.

"There!" Rachel pointed to the tiger in pain on the ground.

"Gar- Hey- Listen to me, its okay." Sam bent down near him.

Gar growled at them before taking a swipe.

"Shit." Rachel stepped back.

Sam fell back but stayed close to Gar,"Look, I don't know what they did to you, but I know you're in there."

Gar looked at the two.

"Gar, it's Sam. Don't you remember?"

Gar began to stop growling, tilting his head.

"See? You're alright."

"Careful Sam." Rachel watched cautiously.

"I know what I'm doing." Sam held his hand out to Gar

Gar leaned forward, sniffing his hand and Sam smiled softly. After a minute, Gar switched. He turned back to himself... Although naked. Sam quickly took off his jacket and threw it on top of Gar.

"Thanks." Gar shivered and wrapped it around him.

"Glad you're back." Sam kissed his cheek.

"I'm sorry you guys." Gar shook his head.

"Don't be, it wasn't your fault." Rachel assured him.

"Come on, the others need us." Sam helped him up.

"I'll do what I can." Gar held his head.

"I'll stick with you to make sure you're okay." Sam told him.

"Thanks Sammy." Gar hummed.

Sam smiled at him as they made their way back to the others. When they got there, Connor was standing with them, talking to Dick.

"What did we miss?" Sam asked with a smile.

"Connor's back to normal." Anya sighed, leaning against the wall.

"That's good." Sam smiled.

Connor then began to walk to the van where CADMUS were, bullets were flying his way but they didn't pierce his skin.

"Now that... Is badass." Gar pointed.

"Very badass." Rachel chuckled.

After all the commotion, the Titans stood together while Dawn walked to a little girl, handing her her dolly.

Sam looked up, noticing a power tower about to fall.

"Dawn! Look out!"

Dawn looked up, her eyes widening as it began to fall, she closed her eyes as there was no way she could run from it. But... Nothing came. Donna... She'd caught the tower and thrown it in front of her before collapsing.

"Donna!" Sam ran up her, kneeling beside her,"Donna, get up!"

There was no response... Nothing. Dick quickly walked up and checked Donna's pulse before looking back at everyone and putting a hand on Sam's shoulder. Anya quickly ran to Sam and crouched down beside him, hugging his side.

"Donna!" Sam shook her as he began to cry,"Donna.."

"Sam, you need to let go." Anya whispered,"She's... She's gone."

Sam turned to Anya and pulled her into a hug as he sobbed.

"It's okay." Anya kissed his head and rubbed his back,"It's okay."

"I can't- Anya.."

"Come on, let's let Dick sort it, yeah?"

Sam nodded slowly and pulled himself to his feet, rubbing his eyes.

"There you go." Anya put her arm around him as she looked back at Donna.

Sam looked up at Dick and grabbed onto his arm.

"I've got her." Dick assured him.

Sam leaned against Dick, he wanted to go home.

*********************************

"You'll be okay, yeah?" Anya asked Rachel.

"I will.' Rachel nodded slowly.

"And if you need us you give us a call." Gar warned.

"Of course." She chuckled.

"I'll miss you." Gar hummed.

"I'll miss you too, Gar." Rachel smiled softly.

"Alright you two." Anya chuckled and walked back to Sam.

"Said goodbye?" He looked over at her.

"Mhm." Anya leaned against his arm.

"She'll be fine." Sam kissed her forehead.

"I hope she can bring Donna back." Anya sighed.

"Me too." Sam wrapped an arm around her.

Anya hummed and held his free hand. Although something in the corner caught Sam's eye, more like... Someone.

"Jason!" Sam turned quickly.

"Hm?" Anya looked.

Jason was stood far back on his motorbike, in black to pay his respects to Donna. He then motioned for Sam to come see him. Sam let go of Anya's hand and walked towards Jason.

"Hey man." Jason hummed.

"I've missed you." Sam sighed.

"I wasn't gone that long." Jason crossed his arms.

"Everything happened so fast, I just wanted to see you. You're like a constant thing, pulling me back to reality."

Jason bit his cheek,"Hey man, I... I think I'm gonna head back to Gotham to Bruce. Ever since Deathstroke I just haven't been the same."

Sam paused slightly but put a hand on Jason's shoulder,"Promise you'll call?"

"I promise. Besides, I'm only a city away. You gotta behave, you hear me? Don't do stupid shit."

"Gotta say the same for yourself, Jay. I won't do dumb shit if you don't."

"Scout's honor." Jason put his hand on his heart.

Sam chuckled and copied him,"Alfred will tell me if he catches you being stupid."

"Oh, of course he will. He's a tattletail." He joked.

"I'm his favourite." Sam winked.

"There's no doubt about it." Jason chuckled.

"Stay safe, Jay. I expect a call when you get to Gotham and at least one message a day so I know you're okay." Sam pointed.

"I want some too. You know I gotta know when my brother is getting some pu-"

"And this is the end of our conversation." Sam cut him off,"I'll message you in the morning and at night."

"See ya, Sammy." Jason put out his hand.

"See ya, Jay." Sam took his hand.

Jason pulled Sam into a hug, patting his back. Sam squeezed Jason tightly, not wanting him to leave but he did. He knew it was for the best.

"You're gonna choke me out." Jason laughed.

"Its gonna be our last hug for a while, gotta make it count." Sam shrugged.

Jason let it happen for a minute before he pulled away,"I'll call you."

"If you don't, I'll call you first."

"I'll see you around." Jason hummed, getting on his bike and putting his helmet on.

"I'll miss you.' Sam sighed.

"I'll miss you too, Sammy."

Sam smiled softly, waving at Jason Jason waved before he revved the bike and rode off while the jet Donna and Rachel were in began to fly away.

Sam then turned back to the others, walking over with his hands in his pockets.

"Where's Jason off to?" Anya looped her arm with Sam's.

"Gotham, back to Bruce." He sighed.

"Hopefully he won't do anything too risky." Anya shook her head.

"He won't, he promised."

Anya kissed his shoulder,"I'm glad. Come on, you owe me a coffee before we go back to the Tower."

Sam chuckled,"Okay, okay. Let's go."

*********************************

About a week after everything had happened, Anya was looking around the tower for Sam, she had wanted to show him something she learned.

Sam, however, had been hiding in his room. He missed Donna, his sister... He'd been staring at the poster of the Flying Graysons, the one good thing Deathstroke did for him.

"Kitty?" Anya knocked on his door before she walked in.

Sam quickly rubbed his eyes, shoving the poster under his bed,"Anya?"

Anya walked over to Sam,"You've been crying."

"No.." Sam looked away.

"Sammy." Anya went on her knees and took his hand.

"Huh?" Sam looked down at her.

"What's wrong?"

Sam sighed,"I've known Donna since I was a kid, Anya... A week doesn't make that go away."

"I know, Sammy." Anya sighed and hugged his leg,"I know."

"I want her to come back!" Sam covered his face.

Anya sat beside him, wrapping her arm around Sam and kissed his head. Sam let a sob escape his lips before covering his mouth, forcing himself to silence as he leaned against Anya.

"Sam, you can get upset... Okay?" She assured him.

Sam shook his head, holing onto her tightly.

"Samuel." Anya sighed,"Let it out, sunshine."

Sam's shoulders shook as he sobbed into Anya's shoulder.

"I'm here." Anya kissed his head as she began to stroke his hair.

"Anya.."

"It's alright Sammy." Anya swayed with him.

Sam sniffled as he and Anya rocked back and forward.

"I got you." Anya whispered.

"You've... You've got me."

"Yeah." Anya smiled,"Always."
