AN: Well, you know the drill. Usual RWBY cast reacts series. Characters will be from the end of Volume 2 but before Volume 3. They'll be watching RWBY: Ice Queendom.

Prologue

Team RWBY were bored.

You would think that after fighting off a Grimm incursion into the kingdom and with the Vytal Festival Tournament about to start, they would be anything but bored. But no, here they were, doing various things to stave off boredom.

Weiss, ever the perfectionist, was reading a book on Dust theory as if she didn't already know most of it front and back.

Blake was indulging in her vice, reading her adult literature.

Yang was playing a video game on her Scroll.

Ruby, meanwhile, was drawing schematics and upgrades for her precious baby.

Or at least they were until they were suddenly plucked out of their dorm room.

"Ow," Ruby said, rubbing her behind as she stood up, having landed on her butt. "Everyone ok?"

"We're good!" Yang said from where she was, getting up as well. Blake, like a cat, had landed on her feet. Weiss, meanwhile, was dusting off her dress.

"What, happened?" Weiss asked.

"That, Miss Schnee, is a very good question," a voice said.

The quartet of girls turned around to find their esteemed headmaster also with them.

"Headmaster Ozpin!" Ruby said. "You're here too?"

"So it would seem," Ozpin said nonchalantly, sipping his ever-present mug of coffee as he did. "Perhaps we should see if anyone else is here?"

"Sounds like a plan," Yang said.

Wherever they were, it looked to be like a movie theatre with plenty of large, comfortable-looking seats as well as a giant screen on one side. However, there were no obvious entrances or exits that they could find.

They looked around and found that there were others there with them. Team JNPR for one, as well as the deputy headmistress, a black-haired man and two Atlesians.

"Uncle Qrow!" Ruby called out as she ran up to hug him.

Qrow grunted as the tactical uncle-seeking niece collided with him. "Heya, squirt. Not how I planned on meeting you again."

"Sister," Weiss greeted with a curtsy.

"Weiss," Winter replied with a hint of sisterly warmth in her tone. "I see that you are well."

"Oh great, two ice queens," Qrow grumbled as he reached for his flask, only to have it taken away from him by Glynda.

"Not in front of the students," Glynda said sternly.

"Maybe we should focus on the circumstances of our arrival here instead," Ironwood said.

"Jimmy's got a point," Qrow said.

"Don't call me that," Ironwood scowled.

"Hey, guys!" Jaune greeted.

"Hello, again," Pyrrha greeted with a wave.

"Vomit boy, hope you didn't throw up coming here," Yang said.

Jaune deflated. "You're never going to let me live that down, are you?"

"No," Yang said.

"Any idea where we are?" Blake asked.

"None," Ren said.

"We were headed for the library when we suddenly found ourselves here," Pyrrha said.

"Ooh! Maybe we've been kidnapped!" Nora said.

"I would like to refute that, but considering the circumstances, that's not inaccurate," Weiss said.

"Weiss-cream agreeing with Nora?" Yang gasped.

"Oh no, the world is ending," Blake said in a complete deadpan.

"Ha, ha," Weiss said, unamused.

"Guys, get along," Ruby said.

Suddenly, the screen turned on and a message was displayed.

Dear guests, you've been selectively plucked out of your world to amuse a higher power.

"What kind of joke is this!?" Ironwood growled.

The kind where no one gets hurt. Rest assured, once this is over, you will return to the exact moment you were taken from with no physical or mental harm done.

"Well, that's a relief," Qrow said.

"What do you want with us?" Glynda asked.

To watch. You will be observing a variant of your world, with slightly different actions prior to your current timeline.

"That's it?" Winter asked.

"Sounds harmless enough," Ozpin said. "I would hope that there are at least facilities for our basic human needs?"

Human bodily functions are suspended while you are located here. Bathroom breaks are unnecessary and you will not need sleep. You will also neither hunger nor thirst, though those can be accommodated should you merely request it.

"I want a stack of pancakes, drowning in syrup!" Nora immediately requested. Sure enough, her order appeared in front of her. Picking up the provided fork, she immediately chowed down on it. "It's good! Almost as good as Rennys!"

"What do we do, sir?" Winter asked her superior.

"What can we do?" Qrow said. "We're stuck here until whatever arsehole that brought us here is bored with us, so we might as well do what they want."

"As crudely put as that was, Qrow is right," Ozpin said.

"It's like a trip to the movies!" Ruby said, thinking positive.

More like bing watching a favourite tv series, but essentially correct.

"Well, not my usual cup of tea, but let's get on with it," Blake sighed.

Everyone went to take a seat and the room dimmed as the first episode played.
