His heart monitor beeped steadily as he gazed into her eyes. There was not a single tear to be seen on her face, and he knew that she was trying to be strong for him. The monitor slowed, and he smiled as she leaned forward to kiss him for a final time. "I wish we had more time," she whispered, and he brushed away a stray tear from her beautiful face. "Smile for me. Promise me you'll smile." She nodded. "I promise," she smiled in relief and closed his eyes. "I love you, Starlight."

Then there was silence. The line went flat, and she finally let the tears she had held back for so long fall. She grasped his hand for a final time and smiled at his peaceful face. "I'll see you soon," she said softly as she laid beside him and closed her eyes, letting herself rest beside the love of her life one more time.

7 years later...

The crackle of the TV could be heard as the fire burned brightly, warming the cozy little home. The screen flickered to show a tragic scene: a car crash had taken place on the freeway involving a young woman and a drunken driver. The woman, aged in her mid-twenties, had been rushed to the hospital but didn't make it. She had no known relatives, and her fiancé had passed a few years before, leaving her alone. The driver was charged with murder, drunk driving, and unlawful driving, sentenced to a lifetime in prison.

At 1:11 in the morning on the fourteenth of February, an angel ascended to heaven, leaving her past life behind.

It started with a wrong number, and after years of trauma and pain, they finally got the peace they deserved. When you look at the night sky full of glittering stars, say hi to them for me, will you?
