"Hey! General Subject!" April shouts.

Sarina turns away from Destiny, seeing the aging woman with her bazooka raised. The redhead grins, finger on the trigger.

"End of the line."

She fires, the sheer firepower smacking Sarina and sending her crashing to the ground and skidding across the floor. April smirks triumphantly, the weapon smoking from its spot on her shoulder. The dust around the cyborg clears, but she only gets back up, her face merely scratched.

"You think it's that easy?" she inquires. "Try this on for size."

She raises her hand and blasts. April yelps and dodges, the energy catching her leg. She screams and cripples, holding her leg as she feels the very skin sizzling with heat. Sarina is about to move forwards when a voice makes her stop.

"Sarina! Wait!"

She turns around to see Donatello in his Turtle Mech suit, getting to his feet as the arms spark with electricity. She arches an eyebrow, face blank save for the minimal movement. Shredder has turned away from the battle, thinking that he has already won.

"Try to remember," the turtle pleads, his heart breaking. "Sarina...it's me. Please don't forget about me...your Donatello, your Donnie..."

"I do not care for anyone such as you," she says coldly. "Sarina is not my name, nor was it ever. I am Subject 60184, and my sworn duty is to serve the Shredder and destroy the ones known as the turtles."

Donnie moves closer to her, momentarily abandoning the Mech. In his belt, he has a USB stick containing photos of the couple and the rest of her family that he collected from a spot in his laboratory back at the lair. If he could just get it into her system, he might be able to reboot her.

She powers up her lasers, eyes burning into his. He doesn't slow down, his hands held up defensively.

"This isn't you, Sarina. Come back. Remember," he whispers.

Just as she's about to fire, he lunges, catching her off guard. He pins her to the ground and jabs the stick into a port hidden beneath her hair. Instantly, the redness of her eyes disappears, the spaces glowing pure white as she screams. He covers his eyes, shielding himself from the light. She shoves him off of her just as she screams again, gripping her head tightly as her eyes flash wildly.

Then, the light stops and she collapses onto her knees, panting. Donnie looks up, holding his head as he watches hopefully.

"Sarina?"

She stumbles to her feet, her limbs sparking and crackling with electricity. She looks to the purple-masked turtle, a small and pained smile crossing her lips.

"Donnie..." she whispers.

His heart floods with relief. "Sari...you're back. You're back!"

She stands up, not running to embrace him. Instead, she turns her body towards the Shredder, guilt and loss evident in her eyes.

"Don't worry, Donatello," she whispers. "It's going to be alright."

He gets to his feet, confused yet overjoyed. "Sarina, what are you-"

"These memories aren't going to last. I'll fall back under his control," she says slowly, her voice soft, like she's delivering bad news. "That's why I must do this."

Before he can do anything, she turns and rushes towards the unsuspecting Shredder. His eyes widen in shock before narrowing back into those of anger, his exo-suit turning to face the cyborg. She skids to a stop and readies her powers, her eyes glowing fiercely as she starts to fire at him, but Oroku Saki will have none of it.

"Traitor," he growls.

He raises his giant metal foot, the shadow falling over her body for a split second. Before Donnie can react, it comes down and crushes her, the crunch and the screeching of twisting metal letting Donnie know that his girlfriend is gone again.

"SARINA!" he screams, feeling as though his entire being is falling apart again.

His entire family except for Destiny...gone. All in the span of less than an hour.

Shredder laughs loudly, the sound reverberating through every part of Donnie's being, but he knows that he has to finish the plan. He dashes back to the fallen Mech, getting in and managing to get it back onto its feet. Shredder notices his attempt and stomps over, grabbing it again and lifting him as if he's nothing more than an insignificant toy.

"Now that I've crushed her, I will crush you just like the insect you truly are," the villain growls.

Donnie keeps a brave face, his eyes narrowed. "I don't think so."

He presses a button on the wall next to him in the Mech, starting up the drill they used to tunnel into the palace in the first place. He presses another button, releasing hefty chains that wrap around the Shredder's gargantuan body and secure him in place.

"What?! What is this?!" the man demands.

Donnie leaps from the Mech as the chains start tugging the Shredder towards the spinning drill head. The conquerer screams and struggles, shouting and trying to escape, but it's no use. The drill buries itself into the Shredder's chest, pushing through and emerging out the back of his suit. He screams as his aged body, kept alive for so long, seems to crumble away as the entire place is engulfed in light.

In a flash, their enemy is gone, the only remains a pile of twisted metal and smoke. Donnie's shoulders slump, the full weight of what just happened crushing him. Then, he remembers who else is still with him.

"Destiny," he gasps, spinning around.

The wolf-girl sits on the ground with Leonardo's head in her lap, a seemingly endless amount of tears dribbling down her cheeks as she strokes his head, begging him to wake up silently. Donnie rushes to her side, his hands shaking.

"It's over. We won," he says.

She doesn't answer for a moment, hugging Leo's head to her chest as her tears drip onto his scarred head.

"Then why does it feel like we lost?" she asks, her voice cracked and ruined.

He doesn't answer, only grabs her hand and pulls her to her feet. "Come on. We have to go," he urges.

She stumbles into him, gritting her teeth as she goes limp. "No...we can't...I'm not leaving this place today."

"Of course you are. Come on," he pleads, trying to keep her walking.

"Donnie...my heart is broken..." she whispers, her entire body weak and crushed.

He lowers himself to the ground, holding her gently in his arms as she takes in strained breaths. Her fanged teeth remain gritted as her ears remain flattened against her hair.

"I know, but you'll get through it. You did it before," he assures her.

"No...before, Leo was still alive," she murmurs, the green of her eyes growing glassy as she gazes at the ceiling. "My heart isn't just emotionally broken...it's physically broken. I can feel the heartstrings snapping...I'm not going to make it..." She coughs once. "I warned you, Donatello...I'm so sorry..." She shuts her eyes, quivering a little. "I'm glad...you came back..."

She leans against him, the pain in her chest aching horribly as she slumps against him. The purple-masked turtle shakes his head and brushes her hair from her scarred face as he lets out a forced laugh.

"Des, stay with me. It's okay, you aren't going to die too. You're going to be fine, you hear me?"

She doesn't respond, her chest no longer rising with her breaths. His heart sinks as he realizes just what happened, and he finally snaps. The tears flow and he wails, his cries echoing in the space. He cries for his Sensei, he cries for his lost brothers, he cries for Annalise and Taylor, he cries for Destiny, and he cries for Sarina. Everyone he loves is gone, and he feels as though he'll never be the same.

"Donnie..." April's pained voice comes from behind him.

He gently rests Destiny next to Leo, facing each other with their hands resting over one another's between them. The purple-masked turtle stands up, wiping his face as he turns to face the redhead. She manages a weak smile as she leans on her good leg.

"Oh Donnie...I'm so sorry."

"How? How am I supposed to go on? This future...I don't want to live in it. It's a nightmare," he stammers.

April steps towards him and places a hand over his heart. "It's a nightmare..." she agrees.

He sniffs and looks down, his shoulders heavy with the crushing weight of grief. More than anything, he wants to go back to the evening before he showed up here. He wants to see his family together and happy, smiling and completely themselves.

"Donnie, it's a nightmare," April repeats.

"I know...I know..." He takes a shaky breath. "I don't want to be here anymore."

She only smiles as she steps away from him. "Then...wake up."
