He picked up a patch of the yellow and white particles in his hand, letting them fall through his fingers and onto his boots. He wasn't about to lick the rest of it from his glove,

so he wiped the sand onto his pants.

WB straightened his posture and slid from the top of the dune he had been standing on, nearly falling towards the end of the trip down, but he caught his footing and adjusted his cloak.

"This is fine" was what he said when he realized he had scraped his arm as he broke his fall. He just walked back to his robot mutant of a house and climbed up the metal workings of the claws, hopping to the porch and then opening the door. He remembered the first few times he had to do that (and failed miserably), which made him chuckle.

Now it was just part of routine, having to hop from cliff to cavern and any heights above or below. He had to learn all of this on his own, which brought up another topic in his head. The GH. Grass Half. Should he go back? He wasn't too far from the border, and he could very well visit the villages of the S-Half (sand half) of the planet, but he was wanted there, therefore he didn't want himself there. He simply sighed, the wheels turning on the building and in his head as he sat on his bed.

That would've been disregarded as a thought for another time if he hadn't heard a distant call from outside. WB shot up from his bed, to the controls to stop the moving building, then he ran to the nearest window, opening it.

"Hello??" He called, spotting a shadow in the distance. It seemed to hear, and it turned. He yelled pretty loud, he supposed.

To be sure WB wasn't hallucinating from the heavy desert heat, he grabbed a first aid kit and jumped from the window of his room, running towards the shadow. He wasn't disappointed when he got there, but he wasn't satisfied either.
There were two.
Two girls, both seeming about eight or nine, and they didn't seem related, but WB still barely registered the girl with black hair begging him to help her and her sister. The girl was wearing a purple sweater and black shorts, and her sister was a ginger-haired girl wearing a blue sweater and green shorts. Both had an intense amount of freckles littering their faces.

It took him a moment before the realization dawned on him.

"They're twins." He thought, before setting the kit down, opening it, and using it's contents to clean their wounds and give them Band-Aids. The girls had nothing other than little scratches littering their arms, legs, and faces, but that was worrying regardless. When he was done, he picked up the two girls. He needed to help... no, he can't think that. He wanted to help them.

The little girl with the orange hair looked up at WB, playing with his smooth strands of black hair, asking "are we going home?"
This made the man think. Where did they even come from? Did they have a home to begin with? Would he lie to two young girls?

Just so he wouldn't be alone anymore?

He didn't want to scare them any more than they (probably) already were, so he just decided on a quiet,

"yes."

With that, he tread the sand back home with them in his arms.

AN
Hi! I tried :') This story is something like a prequel for another story I made up before. Basically I wanted this to be the first and then what happens after will be made in a different form (like animation or something), but I'm still deciding how I want to do that- so for now I'm writing this while working on the other half.

I'd love to hear constructive criticism from anyone reading this, and thank you for your time and thoughts!

PS: dang long AN, hopefully there won't be any more :')
