Virgil POV

  I was hanging out in my room playing Animal Crossing New Horizions on my Switch and listening to a playlist I set, it is currently playing Ode to Sleep by Twenty-One Pilots.  I sighed as my anxiety started to ease up a bit.  Today we recorded a video and the whole time Roman was using me for the butt of his jokes.  If you just heard them you wouldn't think anything of it but to me they kind of hurt because I have a crush on Roman.

  I'll never admit it to anyone but I can't help but feel that way towards Roman, he is a prince after all.  I kept playing my game so my hands had something to do but I really tried to drown myself in the music playing.

  "I'm insignificant,.

  Please tell 'em,

  You have no plans for me,

  I will set my soul on fire,

  What have I become?"  I sang, then heard clapping which surprised me, so I whipped my head to face the origin of the sound, the door to my room.

  Janus was standing in my doorway clapping, making me shy so I put my hood up over my face.

  "Very nice job Virgil, oh, Thomas told me to get you for dinner."  He then walked back downstairs to the kitchen.

  I paused my music and saved my game then went downstairs and sat on the couch with my food between Patton and Remus.  The three of us usually sit at the couch because the table can't fit all of us.  We made small talk together and got on the subject of who had the most hours on Animal Crossing.  Everyone joined in, even the table people and in the end Thomas had 84 hours, Logan had 102, Deceit had 123, Remus had 139, Patton had 146, I had 167, and Roman had the most with 183 hours in game.  We all marveled at Roman's time while he humble bragged about it.  I started blushing at Roman at one point after I had finished my food and luckily only Patton had noticed.  He grabbed my plate and held it to Remis with his empty one as well.

  "Hey Re, I need to attend to something with Virgil, can you take care of these for me please?"

  "Sure thing Wattson, just don't get elecricuted!"  Remus answered, making Patton chuckle then nod.

  Patton picked me up like a toddler which surprised me but I did end up wrapping my legs around his waist.  He walked upstairs to my room and went inside, closing the door behind him.

  "Kiddo, I saw the way you looked at Roman, I think I know what's going on here."  He said in a surprisingly serious tone, which startled me a bit.

  "W-what are you s-saying?"

  "I'm saying,"

  "Y-yes?"

  "THAT YOU HAVE A CRUSH ON ROMAN!"  He announced in his 'I'm Super Excited' voice.

  "Oh- uh- I-I guess."

  "You guess?! You were totally star-struck!  I'm gonna help you confess to him so you can be with him!  It's gonna be PAWSOME!"  He was practically jumping up and down at this point.

  "You had to put a dad joke in there didn't you?"

  "Yup!"

  "Okay then, where do you think I should start?"

  "All you need to do is go down there, and tell him.  Wait!  I'm gonna go make sure that everyone else is in their rooms first so it's just you two!"

  "Uh- okay."  I tried to cut in but he was already downstairs.

  A few minutes later he was upstairs again beckoning me to follow him.  As he had said, Roman was by himself on the couch, looking a bit confused.  I swallowed the lump in my throat before turning to Patton, seeing him give me a thumbs-up then go upstairs into his room.  I sighed nervously and sat onto the couch next to Roman.

  "What's with Patton?"  Roman asked.

  "Um- well, he wanted me to tell you something."  I said then sighed.

  "What is it Virgil?"  He turned to face me fully now.

  "I um- well- Ikindofhaveacrushonyou."  I said then looked into his eyes, not being able to read his feelings.

  "Oh, Virgil, I'm sorry I didn't see it sooner."  He wrapped his arms around me, I now realized I was shaking and hugging my arms around myself.

  He rested his head on mine and I leaned into his chest.  He had a nice warmth that made me not want to leave his touch and his heartbeat was a slow calming march, unlike mine, which beat more like the rain tapping on a window during a bad thunderstorm.  He began to run his fingers through my hair as he still held me securely in his arms.

  "D-does this mean that w-we can be a thing?"

  "Of course Virge."

  "Then we should probably go tell Patton then go to one of our rooms so everyone can come back downstairs."

  "I agree."

  We then stood up, he still having an arm wrapped around my shoulders as we walked, then went to Patton's room and I knocked on his door.  He opened the door and had a huge smile on his face.

  "Glad to see you two happy, I'll go tell the others that they can come out now."  We nodded and walked a bit down the hall.

  "Do you want to go to my room or yours?"  I asked.

  "I want to see your room, you never let any of us into it."  He chuckled and I laughed with him.

  "Okay my room it is then."

  We walked to my door and I opened it.  When we walked in I could see Roman looking around in awe.  My room was mostly dark exept for some LEDs I had hanging around my room that always stayed on a purple color.  My bed had three thick blankets and tons of soft pillows.  I also had speakers set up that could be connected to my phone to play music and a television connected to my Switch.

  "Wow it's so... you."

  "Is that a bad thing?"

  "No, it's perfect."  He smiled then we walked over to my bed laying down onto it.

  Right now it is around 9:00PM (21:00) and I was unbelievably tired.  He pulled the covers over us and wrapped his arms around me.  I had buried my face into his chest and my breathing had already began to slow.

  "Oh, and Virgil."

  "Yes?"

  "Sorry about the jokes earlier."

  "It's alright."  I said and adjusted myself to be more comfortable in his arms.
 
  "And Roman."

  "Hm?"

  "I love you Roman."

  "I love you too my shadowling."
