So basically, Roman's and Remus's parents died when they were really young, and they were sent to live with their grandmother, who had plenty of other little kiddos to keep her eyes on so she honestly could care less what happened to these little hecks, unless they were doing something quote on quote wrong, then out comes the belt ;-;

So as Roman wasn't looked after, other men snuck into his and some other childrens sleeping quarters like the little bastards they are for some entertainment.

Now, Roman being the starry eyed theatre kid he is, had a music teacher who he got along well with. Said teacher though liked Roman as more than just a student and did some...things with him. And Roman being a smile thirteen year old mistook this for love, being all like :D someone who loves me he's different than other guys :DDDDDDD

He was not, is all I'm gonna say

Still Roman was his pawsome self, still starry eyed and bright uwu we love our boy

Then comes the gosh darn secretary who "gets what he wants and he won't take no" and Roman has helped that guy out a few times if you get what I'm putting down. And again Roman is like, omg he's such a cool guy does he really love me cause I love him. Eventually though, his grandma found out and Roman was in a world of trouble (don't hurt your kids people, okay? Especially if they're being taken advantage by an adult you hired like gdi) but Remus stood up for him because he couldn't bare watching Roman get beaten

So that didn't work out but guess what? Now Roman has stumbled upon the king :o omg the king. And the king immediately takes interest in Roman because, you know he's Roman, and he just gotten back from his divorce from his other wife, so he married Roman. Roman was used as kind of like...a means for the public eye you know? Like be seen and not heard, as he didn't want a vivacious spouse or one who spoke out or was hecking independent, told him what to do, etc (that bitch-)

In private, he would tell Roman that without him he wouldn't know what to do, and Roman still being the Naïve boi he is, believes this as he was still young. 18 now But it's still weird as the king is many years his senior. He tells Roman that "they have this connection" and Roman is so used to hearing that he just...deflates. Are all guys going to treat him like this? Are they all the same?

Living with Henry isn't an easy feat. He's easily angered, his mates are sleazy. But then there's this one courtier who's actually really nice to Roman and treats him like a real human being and they hang out all the time when the king isn't around. Roman is over the moon with joy. Finally someone he can be friends with, just friends. Someone who won't tale advantage of him. Someone who cares about him without wanting anything in return. They get each other. They're besties lol

And then...there's that like again "we have this connection" and the courtier knows about all the past relationships and the king would behead him if he were to find out so mmmm hippity hoppity kiss me you're now my property

And this just...breaks him. He's absolutely hecking destroyed after that. He thought this guy would be different. Why did he think that? Would it never be different than it always was? Is all they'll ever want him for is pleasure, not even caring any more at this point if he enjoys it too? When will enough be enough?

Now we can bring in aN ACTUAL GODDAMN CINNAMON ROLL LIKE PATTON OR SOMEONE TO COMFORT THE KING'S HUSBAND WHEN THEY SEE HIM BREAKING DOWN AND STANDING A LITTLE CLOSE TO THE EDGE THAN THEY WOULD LIKE they cradle Roman in their arms, let him vent as long as he needs, and heck it can even be Remus and brotherly bonding but, if you want ship then we can do like Patton or like Logan. Because Roman needs to know what true love feels like. Or any kind of love, as he's rarely felt that from anyone. And obviously after last time he's going to have trust issues but this person who showed them love is just...so sweet and innocent and pure. They treat him so kindly and with respect and god they're adorable when they get all flustered around him, and they respect all his wishes and never push him to do anything he doesn't want to do. Ah
