Gusion was on patrol this night. He was lying on the roof on one of the watch towers in the Moniyan castle, staring at the twinkling stars.

He put his arms over his head, serving them as a pillow, falling in deep thinking.

It had been months since he left his family– more on like banished from his family.

His family– Paxley– had this beliefs that being a mage was a sacred path and those who used weapons are merely cowards.

But he was fond of daggers, and ever since he was child, he would practice light magic on his daggers.

He thought that the Elders of his family would accept his fighting style when he proved his ability and defeated his opponent on the Rite Passage into Adulthood.

But he was wrong.

Yes, they were amazed. But it wasn't enough for them to accept what he wanted. They made him chose to whether forget his fighting style to stay with his family or keep it and be banished from the family.

Of course, he was a natural rebellious, he chose the latter. Which why he was here in the Moniyan Empire.

He wanted to prove the true extent of his power so he immediately accepted Tigreal's offer to defeat the Dark Abyss.

Gusion sighed. He didn't regret his decisions. He found people in this Empire who accepted him for who he was, without judging him.

He got up to stop himself from thinking. He didn't want to have a headache.

He was fixing his hair when he noticed someone was walking outside the castle.

He squinted his eyes so he could recognize that person who wanted to go out in the middle of the night.

He caught a glimpse of a long magenta hair, and he already knew who it was.

He jumped swiftly from the roof and followed the woman with a magenta who couldn't walk properly because of her casts.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked while walking beside her.

But she didn't answer, she just continued to walk.

"I'm asking you." He said, trying to be patient which he knew he couldn't.

Because patience and Gusion couldn't be in the same sentence without the word not.

When she still didn't answer, Gusion sighed as he stopped her by holding her shoulders so she could face him.

And he was shocked to see her crying.

"I... want to see my little brother." She whispered while sobbing.

He looked down to her hands, she was clutching the top hat on her chest he didn't noticed she was holding.

Gusion knew she was still emotionally unstable. He took a deep breath, trying to longer his patience.

"Lesley, Tigreal said yes in helping you. And when he said yes, he will really help you." He calmly said.

"P-please... Help me. Help me save my little brother."

Silence filled the room as they just looked at the weeping magenta-haired woman.

They could feel her pain. Fanny's eyes were even pooled with tears as well as Layla and Kimmy, while Harith was already crying.

"Brother–"

"Yes Lesley. We will help you. Don't worry." Tigreal said while he cleared his throat. He could feel his chest tightened as he watched Lesley crying, "But you need to recover first. After that, we will save your little brother."

With that, Lesley cried more in so much gratefulness and bowed her head, "Thank you. Thank you Sir."

"I was about to smack you if you didn't say yes, Brother." Fanny said while wiping her tears.

"I know the feeling of losing someone important to you. And I will help you in all means to find your little brother, Miss Lesley." Harith said while still crying.

Alucard patted the Leonin's head because he knew what he had been through. He was still guilty because he came late that time.

"So take a rest and recover fast Lesley." Tigreal said, placing a hand on her head like a gesture of a brother to a younger sister.

Tears were still flowing in her eyes, "I want to see him. I want to make sure he's safe. Please."

Gusion felt his chest tightened while looking at her. She looked so vulnerable in her state now.

She had intimidating appearance honestly. But she looked so fragile right now.

"We will save your little brother. Don't worry." Was all he said.

"But he might be in danger now–"

"Don't you trust your little brother, Miss Vance?" He cut her.

She seemed taken aback and looked down on the top hat she was holding, "I... trust him. He's strong. He's a mage genius."

"See? You said it yourself. You trust your little brother. We will save him, okay?" He wiped her tears that were still falling from her eyes, "For now, you have to rest so you can heal faster then we will save your little brother."

She looked at him and Gusion was stunned with their eye contact.

He wasn't really the type of guy who easily says a woman was beautiful.

But now, he couldn't helped it. Even the first time he saw her when they found her unconscious in the middle of the forest when he and Fanny came from a mission.

Lesley Vance was the first woman he thought had the epitome of beauty.

Maybe there are other beautiful girls out there but this woman in front of him was the very first one whom he considered beautiful. Not even her.

A cold breeze blew that woke up Gusion from his trance and avoided her gaze immediately.

Despite the cold night, he could feel his face warmed.

Fuck. Don't tell me I'm–

He shook his head to whisk away his thoughts.

"Come on, night is getting cold. Let's get you back to your room." Gusion said as he held her arm to support her.

She started to walk, but it was hard for her because of her cast on her right leg.

Not thinking straight, Gusion swiftly scooped the magenta-haired woman in his arms.

She let out a yelped of surprise, "I– I'm okay. I can walk. You don't have to–"

"With your condition right now, we will reach your room the next day." He said and started to walk.

She's so light. Gusion thought. "I think you should eat more. You're so light."

"My weight is just right enough for my age and height. Maybe you are just strong."

He didn't speak and the whole walk towards her room was silent.

"Can you open the door?" Gusion asked once they reached her room.

She reached for the doorknob and twisted it to open. He went in her room, with her still on his arms.

He laid her down to her bed gently, tucking her under the blanket.

"Rest, Lesley." He said as he lightly brushed her hair. He frowned when he noticed something, "Aren't you going to remove your braid?"

She lightly shook her head, "It's better this way so I will not have a hard time brushing my hair when I wake up in the morning."

"If you say so." He walked towards the door. "Good night Lesley."

He was about to open her door but she called him.

"Gusion, wait."

He turned around to look at her, giving her a look on why she called him.

She smiled, a genuine one, "Thank you for calming me. Good night."

He was stunned, he didn't know she could be more beautiful when she smiled.

He blinked his eyes continuously to stop his mind from thinking ridiculous things.

"It's nothing." He said as he went out of her room quickly.

He was walking so fast away from her room when he suddenly stopped when he noticed something.

Did I just smiled at her?

~~~~~
Still short. I don't know how to make this chapter longer (╥_╥)
Anyway, I hope you like this one. My heart is still aching for making Lesley vulnerable. Huhu.
Gusion is being stubborn once again. I don't intend to make him like how I portray him in my one shots but– GAHHD, he is being like "No! I am not like that. I'm staying like this." What the heck. Like Gusion! I want you to become that rude Gusion and not the usual flirty Gusion!
Anyway again, I wish you like this short and trashy update. HAHAHAHA. Thank you!
