Somewhere in Planet Rocklond;
Three days later...

Gopal's POV

Umm, okay...

Where to start???

Uh, I... Cadet Gopal Kumar, am here in this planet, Planet Rocklond, with Boboiboy, Yaya and Captain Kaizo. All my Best Buddies...

Except for the last one. He's too creepy like... like... like...

Deep breaths, man. I think calmly. Deep... breaths.

We are supposed to find an unknown power sphere, get it back, and bring it back safe to headquarters. Simple, just like that pea-little square alien said.

Simple because 1) We all know the dangers in this planet [i.e. falling boulders, jagged and rocky roads], 2) Captain Kaizo knows where the power sphere is, and 3) Boboiboy is here to rescue us from any danger.

¿Right?

With the captain leading the way, us kids need to follow him. Boboiboy still keeps his distance far from what he calls the "psychopathic, heartless  rebel." He really blames the captain for causing Fang's death, so he has been Blaze every time he sees Captain Kaizo. Actually only Boboiboy disagreed with the plan, but then he reluctantly changed his mind.

All because of the person holding his hand: Yaya.

My Yaya... my greedy thoughts add, but I shrug it aside.

It's just been three short days, but it seems like Boboiboy and Yaya are already long-termed couples. Holding hands, never letting go, sharing juicy dark secrets, teasing each other, foreseeing the beautiful future, etc. etc. etc.

She smiles when my bestie jokes wholeheartedly.

She's cute when he taunts her easily.

She blushes when he kisses her passionately.

And Yaya never forgets to love Boboiboy back.

Lie! That's a lie...

Meanwhile I am behind the two lovey-dovey couple, trying keep up the fast pace and also thinking whether to regard Boboiboy as my enemy. Or not.

I mean, there's nothing wrong with being BFF with Boboiboy. But if it concerns to the relationship between me and Yaya, oh... I'm very willing to take out every lover she has. Even if that includes my one and only bestie.

When Yaya was still three, I was the first to be closed to her.

When Ying wasn't always there, I was the one whom she can laugh out loud.

And when no one saw her inferior pain, I was the only concerned person who had first knew about her condition.

Where was Boboiboy in all of this? Nowhere!

Yaya Yah is already mine.

It's only me and Yaya, but then fate turned around and she ended up falling head over heels WITH A CINNAMON ROLL WHO DOESN'T KNOW THAT SHE—!!!

"Oh, man," I say to myself as I stop to massage my burning temples. "Keep it together, Gopal. Keep it... together."

I sigh. As much as I really want to turn Boboiboy into trillion and scattered grains of rice, I am also worried about Yaya's reaction.

Will she love me better if I did tortured my bestie?

Is there still a chance that she could love me back?

Am I a fat and selfish guy who wants to feel being loved and cared?

Do I really want to see her lovely smile disappear

...and replaced with a haunting frown?

Other thoughts continue to pull my nerves back and forth, as if this situation is a never-ending tug-of-war.

Yes, I want Yaya to be happy with Boboiboy because that's her choice. And I want to respect and honor her free will.

However the negative inside me is still very eager to possess my whole body and murder the two couples mercilessly.

No! Not our precious Yaya! scream one thought.

If she can't love you, then to hell with it! proclaim another one.

Dey! Think rationally! There's nothing to lose when she's with another. You're still her friend, and that's important!

Move on!

Hold on!

Carry on!

Die on!

Kill on!

"Arrghh!!" I bite back a scream. "Why is life so hard???"

Suddenly the ground feels like its on low vibration mode.

"Umm, guys. Why is it—?"

"Earthquake!!!" Captain Kaizo shouts, realizing what it is. "Get to the other side. NOW!!!"

And the ground begin to shake violently. All the rocks are forcefully swayed to the earthquake's deadly rhythm. Big cracks pop out below me and I run wildly.

"Huh, huh!" I wail. "Why weren't we warned about earthquakes?!"

"Move it, Gopal!" Yaya calls out. "Get those chubby legs going!"

I look back at my members, who were... A MILE AWAY FROM ME!!!

Yaya can fly.

Boboiboy Thunder can run.

Captain Kaizo is extremely fast.

Me... Wahhhh!!! I'm doomed!

With no athletic abilities or powers, I am clearly doomed. But, because my life is on the line, I have no choice.

I run with all my might, and my progress is pretty sloppy. Even if I am seriously running fast, I still can't even reach them.

The superb force keeps on swaying the ground left and right, as if it were a table cloth being dragged by Death himself. Different kinds of rocks begin to slide down from the mountains and  down to us.

We all dodge and hack them out of our way, but we are nowhere close to the other side. Speaking of this "other side"...

"Where is the other side?!" I shout clearly, hoping for a cold reply from the captain.

But it is Boboiboy who answered. "Just a few more steps, Gopal!"

"Where exactly—?!"

Suddenly a large boulder appears out of thin air and strikes Yaya on the head. Without a single gasp, she falls down in midair.

"Yaya!!" we both shout and try to rescue her. In different ways.

Boboiboy plans to zap quickly to her side before she falls.

I plan to turn the ground she's landing into almond jelly.

But then we forgotten about the two incoming rocks, and so we are struck by it. Exactly on our power watches, making it reboot for 30 minutes.

"Damn it," I curse, now feeling hopeless and helpless.

Refusing to give up, Boboiboy continues to run towards his girlfriend.

Arms open wide.

Ready to catch her.

And never letting go again.

To my amazement, he successfully  catches her just in time and I sigh in relief.

"You're safe now, Yaya," I silently say, but then something catch my eye.

Yaya is now in the hands of Boboiboy, who took care of her in bridal style. He pushes a strand of her black hair back to her pink hijab. And, only then, he gives himself his own sigh of relief.

I stand stiffly, clearly mesmerize at the two people. Seeing them together makes me feel... jealous over and over again. I feel like singing Justin Bieber's sad songs.

That should be me, holding your hand

That should be me, making you laugh

That should be me—

"That should be me..." I sing, soft but mellow.

Suddenly the ground beneath me cracks open and I didn't do anything to save myself. From falling.

"GOPAL!!" Boboiboy cried.

Setting Yaya down, he quickly runs towards me and grabs hold of my hand.

"I. Got. You." he pants as we both tighten the bond between us.

But not for long.

His hand are now slowly slipping away from mines. The earthquake shakes again and Boboiboy looses his balance, making him fall with me.

Luckily, a dark blue hand seizes Boboiboy's free hand and the two of us are dangling.

"Captain!!" I say in delight.

My friend scrunches his eyebrows. Not in disgust, but in solitude.

"But you're..." he starts.

"Bleeding, yeah," Captain Kaizo finishes.

And then I see it. He has a bloody gash on his right temple and his right eye is closed because of the pain.

"Captain," Boboiboy says, almost inaudible. "I can't... hold on."

"Then use your powers!"

My friend snorts. "They're in reboot!"

"Goddammit," Kaizo mutters as blood comes trickling down his cheek.

Like tears of sadness.

"I can't hold on, too," he adds dreadfully. "F****, I can't get my powers working."

I look down below and see a deep dark pit waiting for us. Gosh, this is really a Catch-22 situation. If neither of us let go, we'll fall together. We're too heavy.

Wait, too heavy...

I never had the courage to die for others in the past few years, but maybe this time I can prove it.

I begin to loosen my grip from Boboiboy.

"Gopal," he whispers. "What are you doing?"

"Doing the right thing," I fake a smile.

Then his brown eyes widened. "No, no, Gopal. Don't!"

He tries to tighten the grip again but his shaky hand only lets my hand slip more.

"Gopal, this is no joke," he frantically convinces me. "You'll die... You'll die."

"And you will live," I say back, my hands now holding my best friend's fingers.

"It's... it's suppose to me." he shakes his head. "Not you."

"Remind Yaya to tell you about her condition," With a deep breath, I pry my hand from him.

And I fall...

And fall....

Yaya, I love you.

Then I feel something sharp that quickly drilled my head.

And my small little world ends.
