It was July 1st, specifically 7 pm, I was crying in my room again. My parents were fighting again, I could hear my dad throw things. My mom was shouting, "I thought you were paying them!" My dad screamed back, "The water bill was 450$, Your ugly, bitchy, self should know that!" Then I closed the door. I couldn't listen to them any longer, I didn't want to believe they were fighting. I opened my phone, 2 new messages:

"Josephine 6:57: I'm scared to go home, Are mom and dad fighting again?"

"Josephine 6:59: I just knew they were fighting. How am I ever going to tell them I think I'm lesbian?"

Josephine is my sister, she's the best big sister ever. She's always been there for mess have. I for her. She told me she was gay a few weeks ago, and she's scared to tell my parents. I'm scared too, I don't want to lose my sister. I know that if she told my father he would flip out and hurt her. I don't want that! I sniffed, The tears ran down my face.

Later that night my mom came in, She had a black eye, "Go to bed Ivy. It's been a rough day." I wanted to ask her if she was okay or punish my father for what he had done but I couldn't disobey either of my parents or it would get ugly, So I went over to my bed, "Goodnight mama."I didn't go to sleep, I was too afraid. I waited until I heard the door open and shut because that meant Josephine was home. I didn't hear anyone scream after she came in so it meant she was safe, Only then did I finally go to sleep.

It was always scary when they fought, sometimes the fights dragged on all night, and then it would truly get terrifying, Sometimes I wondered if they would ever stop, but it always seemed like they just kept fighting and fighting and fighting.
