By the time Cassiopeia had been given the all clear to go to Malfoy manor with Narcissa she was all up to date with the last ten years of the life she'd missed. The dark Lord was gone, dead they said. Destroyed by a baby no less, the mighty boy who lived. Cassie knew deep down that it wasn't right, she could feel it deep down he wasn't truly gone she knew it.

Bellatrix had been sent to askaban, she'd been arrested for torturing a couple to insanity apparently they were two young aurors. Then there was Narcissa, she had the perfect son. He was like a doll in a glass case that she could show off to anyone and everyone, but her husband on the other hand was cold and clearly cared move for his image than his wife and son.

Cassie didn't mind the manor, as long as she didn't have to leave her room. She preferred to watch from her window, she could see the grounds that stretched around the house and it was all's she needed. Draco would have his friends over and she would watch from the same seat, she wanted to join in but it just didn't feel right.

"You don't have to do that you know" Narcissa's voice cut in to her thoughts.

"Do what?" She replied as she turned from her view of Draco and his friends to look at her sister.

"Pine. All's you have to do is go out there" she took a seat on Cassie's bed.

"I'm happy to just watch" she turned her gaze again.

"Cass you need to remember your still a child, socialising is a good thing"

"Mhm" Cassie hummed dreamily. Not feeling like she was actually apart of the world.

"Could you please just make an effort, this is hard on me too" Narcissa said as she stood up and left the room.

The most hospitable person at Malfoy manor was the families little house elf dobby, he was any thing but the usual sort of elf. Usually they were quite angry little creatures with short tempers but dobby was happy and excited when it came to his new miss. He happily obliged to bringing her snacks and tea throughout the day.

Today however instead of the usual pop of apperation at dinner time there was a knock at her door. To her surprise it was Lucius and not Narcissa as she expected.

"We have guests for dinner, I'd appreciate it if you would join us at the table" he said as he looked down at her.

"Why do you want me there I'd be better off in my room" she growled.

"Cassie your apart of this family weather you like it or not, so I'd like us to have a united front. It's only a few of my colleagues, you will be fine" he nodded.

"Fine" she shut the door and let out a short grunt.

Not wanting to have any sort of contact in the first place Cassie laid in her dress over her bed covers reluctantly kicking her feet into the air waiting for someone to come and get her.

"Hi, dad sent me up for you. Are you ready" dracos whiney voice came from behind her.

"Yes" she snapped standing up to meet him.

Draco was almost the exact same height as cassie and when they were standing together there eyes were at a perfect eyeline which made cassie feel inferior. She huffed and turned back to her dresser.

"What are you doing now" Draco asked.

"Changing my shoes" she sighed and swapped her comfortable ones for the ones with a little bit of a heel. "That's much better"

"How do you manage to get out of these stupid dinners every other night, I get forced into them every night" Draco said as they walked from her room.

"Incase you didn't notice I just got out of a coma, I have a lot more leeway" she smiled.

"Sarcastic much?" Draco laughed.

"So who is at this stupid dinner then" Cassie quizzed her nephew.

"Us and some of my dads friends and there kids" he shrugged.

"Thanks for the detailed answer, who are the kids then idiot" she pushed her shouder into his.

"Oh well it's usually Pansy Parkinson, Vincent Crabbe, Gregory Goyle and Theodore Nott. They're friends of mine so you'll be okay" he said as he smiled at her.

"I hate social things" she sagged her shoulders and threw her head back letting her dark curls fall all the way back.

"Oh you'll be fine, you can sit next to me" he grabbed a hold of her hand and pulled her forward along the corridor.

Having to stand around waiting for guests was one of the things Cassiopeia hated before the coma so having to do it now was even worse. She had disobeyed her instructions to stand and had sat herself in a chair when the fire place finally started to open.

First through was a rather large boy with a terrible hair cut that looked like it had been done by a pack of fire crabs and he tripped over the grate on the way out and had to be steadied by his father earning him a smack to the back of his head followed by "your so stupid Vincent."

Then a boy of the same build only slightly thinner who looked like his eyes were starting to go back into their sockets and his bristly hair was low on his forehead as if it was trying to cover his eyes, he was followed by an older more burly version who was assumingly his father.

The two of the boys made their way over to Draco touching knuckles with him. "Cassie this is crabbe and goyle" he said pointing at each of them. She'd seen these boys before when she'd watched from her window.

She gave them both smiles and turned her attention back to the fire. The next through was a stunning woman linking arms with a tall man who looked regal, and just behind them was a young girl who's hair was jet black and cut just above her shoulder. She made her way quickly over to the group flashing Narcissa a bright smile and then pulling Draco into a hug.

Cassie finally stood out of her chair as she girl moved over to her, "I'm Pansy, Draco's told me all about you. Cassiopeia isn't it" she gave her the same smile she'd gave Narcissa and held out her hand.

"I prefer Cassie" she took her hand and gave her a smile.

Finally the last too arrive was an older gentleman that must have been at least 40 his beard hair looked as if it was starting to grey and at his side was an awkwardly lanky boy with the thickest eyebrows Cassie had ever seen. He had a fluffy mop of chocolate brown hair and ocean coloured eyes. As he walked over to them he stuffed his hands in his pockets in a carefree nature carefully oozing a sort of magnetic energy.

"Alright boys" he hit crabbe on the shoulder in a friendly manner.

"Do we just not exist then" Pansy said looking from the boy too Cassie.

"Oh shut up Pansy," he rolled his eyes and then looked up. "I don't believe we've met, I'm Theodore Nott. But you can call me Theo" he held his and out and gave her a mischievous smile.

"Nice to meet you" she took his hand, "I'm Cassiopeia Black but you can call me Cassie" she said half sarcastically.

"Kids come through dinner is ready" Narcissa called.

The six of them followed her through to the dining room, Cassie grabbed ahold of dracos arm and let him guide her to their seats. Being around this many people was irritating her and she just wanted it to be over already. She sat through the dinner picking at her food and ignoring the adults conversation that all the others were clearly trying to get in on.

When they were into their desert Pansy leaned in from the chair next to her and started to make small talk which Cassie appreciated greatly. The whole time she was talking she could feel Theo's eyes across the table studying her, though she brushed it off.

Of course the adults in the group had to go off and talk in private so that left the children alone and Cassie had never wanted to go back too her room more. Surprisingly Pansy was quite keen to have another female presence in the group.

"So Cassie does this mean your going to be joining hogwarts at the same time as us?" Pansy asked as they all sat in the living room.

"I think so, the ministry are still sorting things out for me" she moved uncomfortably in her seat.

"Oh thank god I'm not gonna get stuck with these pigs" Pansy laughed, "what house are you hoping for?"

"Well I'm a Black so Slytherin, i also look really good in green" Cassie smiled.

"Finally got your way have you" Theo said to Pansy as he sat next to Cassie.

"What's that supposed to mean" Cassie spoke intrigued.

"She's been trying to get us to add the greengrass sisters too the group for ages and one of them is about two years younger than us" Draco said as he approached with Crabbe and Goyle behind him.

"Well I'm tired of the masculinity I think id settle for that cho girl that daphne hangs around with in her town" Pansy rolled her eyes.

"You love us come on" Theo threw a cushion at her.

"Don't worry Cass you'll fit right in" Draco nudged Cassies knee.

Cassie gave her nephew a smile and thought that maybe it wouldn't be so bad mixing with people her own age for once.
