If you're stuck in a scene, try to have your character:

1. Tell a bold-face lie

2. Interfere in another person's conversation

3. Dodge a "proverbial" bullet

4. Retreat from a conversation because it hits too close to home

5. Disturb someone's thoughts

6. Ask tough questions, making the other character(s) uncomfortable

7. Try to gain someone's trust

8. Counter an argument

9. Find something missing

10. Inspect something closely and discover something about it they'd never noticed before
