The couplers let go.

I heard the telltale hissing.

The tension that had been in my safety harness and rigging instantly vanished.

One moment I was hanging safely from the floating work station above PRIME-7's noxious gas fields, doing routine maintenance work, and the next I was hurtling toward certain death.

In total panic, I pitched inward toward the skeleton of the work station hoping to hitch up on the tail.

When I thought of finally earning my freedom from this stinking, minimum-security prison called PRIME-7, I never once dreamt it would come at the price of my very life.
