Every marriage has two hearts, one light and one dark.

AUTHOR: Stephen King

YEAR OF RELEASE: 2006

MY RATING: 7/10

BLURB:

Lisey knew it when she first fell for Scott. And now he's dead, she knows it for sure.

Liset was the light to Scott Landon's dark for twenty-five years. As his wife, only she saw the truth behind the public face of a famous author - that he was a haunted man whose bestselling novels were based on a terrifying reality.

Now Scott has gone, Lisey wants to lock herself away with her memories. But the fans have oter ideas. And when the sinister threats begin, Lisey realises that, just as Scott depended on her strength - her light - to live, so she will have to draw on his darkness to survive.

MY DESCRIPTION: This seems like your average book of a widow who is struggling to accept the death of her spouse, but it turns very dark very fast as you realise there is a whole other world to what you are familiar with. Scott's haunted past gets revealed slowly and you become more and more appalled at just what this man had to endure to become to person he was. Lisey's Story is about the woman being badgered by people wanting her husband's unpublished works, while also trying to juggle her relationship with her sisters and find out Scott's secrets. This book feels like a personal statement from King himself, but it's so skillfully crafted that I just couldn't put it down.
