∽Emerald is an introvert through and through. She likes going out as much as the next person but only for a short while at a time. Prolonged interaction with other people and the 'outside world' normally overwhelms her.
∽She's really stubborn. Once she set her mind on something, there's only a small chance of changing her mind. Since she's so silent, people usually think she's a push over, or someone who would be easily swayed, but it's the opposite actually.
∽When she's not completely engrossed in a book, you could find her around Temperance and the High Priestess, not quite talking, just basking in their presence. It's not rare to see her daydreaming as well, thinking of simpler times and feeling terribly homesick.
∽Emerald has always been extremely close to her mother, whom she cherishes and loves more than anything in the world. Whenever things get rough, she just always thinks of her mother to calm herself down. She can't even imagine a world without her. You could say she's a little too dependent on her mother, but it's not like she would listen to what you say either way.

∽Low pain tolerance; her skin is a little bit more sensitive that a regular person, as well as not as strong as she would have liked to be.
∽Her mother; her mother is everything to her. And she would do anything to protect her mother
∽Can't control her emotions; especially if her mom was involved, she has a hard time controlling her emotions. Even if her mind is strong, sometimes her heart becomes stronger
FEARS
∽Being forgotten; even if she doesn't want to interact much. She likes to think that she actually made an impact on a person. She was always afraid that because she doesn't socialize much, nobody will remember her when she dies. She wants at least one person to remember her, she wants to know that she had an influence on someone.
∽The unknown; though she is curious and wants to gain more knowledge. She also fears what she will discover from the unknown. She is afraid that what she finds out might not be what she expected and might cause her pain. That's why she always tries to be careful.
∽Heights; she's deathly afraid of heights. She's always afraid of being pushed off a building or just falling off something. She experienced that before, not one she would like to experience again. EVER.
∽Being betrayed; her worst fear of all (probably). She's afraid of getting close to someone, only for them to stab her in the back. It's one of the reasons why she subconsciously does not want to get close to someone. She saw how her father trusted people too much, and that led to his demise.

BACKSTORY
∽Use to live in a port city, she grew up by the sea. She would swim everyday, mostly by herself or with her parent.
∽Her father wasn't in the picture for most of her life but she knows about him and how he acts. She doesn't like to talk about him so much.
∽Her mother tried to hide her when they found out she was one of the major arcana, which would have been quite easy since she was The Hermit and would rather be indoors, but after the disease spread in her village and they found her she couldn't do anything else but follow them.

∽She used to swim every morning and be cooped up in her room in the afternoon reading.
