I'm going to shit (when am I not) and decided to make stuff I actually cry about because I never have before! So get ready for a depressing bunch of one-shots that only I will cry at.
Warnings: Cursing and sorry if this is a different kind of depressing, I listened to the song up top.
Ages: 41 and 40? Is that old—yeah.
Note: I cried because....... I will never have a family that feels like shit because I leave. My stepma can't wait for it and my dad's too high on meds constantly to give a simple shit about anything.

Stan's POV.

Wendy and I both know our first child was an accident. She knows that fact. We all know that fact.
But still... she is sort of a 'daddy's girl'. She'll come over sometime and hug both of us before she sits down next to me, that's greeting the only child that still lives at home. My other one, my middle child visits as well but less frequently, he's around his boyfriend a lot and doesn't quite have his life in check enough to....... y'know, Get here from campus.

"Wilma's here."

I smile and get up, taking my daughter into a hug. She hugs me back, smiling brightly.

"Hi dad."

I let go of her.

"I still can't get it through my head that you're an adult."

"Dad, I'm 22 and a half."

"I know but..... oh goddamnit, now I know why my grandma said I had grown each time we met. I have seen you since you were a few hours old."

She laughs and puts his bag on the floor.

"I didn't forget the special day."

I roll my eyes as she gives me a card. I assume she made it, arts were a weirdly good point of her. Admittedly, it's more the determination to make than that.

"Happy birthday."

"Thank you."

She gives me a second card.

"That's from Shawn, he's heartbroken he couldn't attend."

I nod and tell her to thank Shawn.

"Do you wanna eat?" I ask.

"Which one of you cooked?"

I raise my hand.

"Okay then I'm fine with it. Mom isn't a very good cook."

"Hey!"

"Honey, you know your daughter is just telling the truth."

"Okay, fine. But I'm the one that keeps the house running. Ain't nobody else gonna clean the place."

"Okay, that's true. Dad's terrible when it comes to cleaning."

"Hey, I object. I cleaned all my children when they were born and each bathing was on me alone," I say.

Wilma nods.

"Wait.... where's the little one at?" Wilma asks, looking around.

"Out. Plus.... he's 'fifteen, don't call me little anymore'."

"Oh god I wasn't like that, was I?"

I laugh.

"Barely. Andy is the moodiest out of all of you. But you did close the goddamn doors when we wanted them open."

Wilma nods.

"I don't remember sneaking out at least."

"I'm glad you don't, you never did. You did yell at us a lot, the normal teen things. But I'm pretty sure that when you were really young we yelled at our parents that way."

We sit at the table.

"Anyone want wine?"

"No thank you, I'm almost certain Ollie wouldn't be happy, poor dude hates alcohol. We live together after all."

I just smile a little at all this. Wilma and Ollie always reminded me of Kyle and I. We're both still good friends, incredibly close actually, we run a business together, especially with our boys dating. We never did officially move in but he has crashed my couch for two months, I have crashed his for seven. So..... in a way.... we have lived together. Just never made it official like Wilma and Ollie.

"So, Dad, just wanted to tell you how much I love you. Happy 41st birthday!"

I laugh. Oh God last birthday i remember well has to be my tenth, we've had small dinners but I stopped celebrating the fucker that year.

"So! I have something to tell you both!"

We both look at her and she shows us her hand. It has a ring.

"Wait... you're engaged?" I ask.

She nods.

"Sorry to steal your big day but I'm gonna be so busy with wedding planning I'm not sure if I get a better opportunity."

"No no, that's great!"

She nods.

"Which one are you engaged to?"

Oh yeah, polyamory, I remember meeting all of her significant others.

"We decided that I would go with Jack because nobody else would be able to handle being told 'you're marrying Kenny 2.0'"

~Time skip because AAAAANGSTY.~

"You can't stay a little while longer?"

Oh dear Jesus. Nobody teaches that when your kids are adults you'll end up missing them. Why didn't they take a moment to teach us this when they talked about parenthood?

"Sorry, I really have to go, dad."

I take her into a hug.

"I love you. Like, hell, my heart hurts just having you leave."

Wilma laughs.

"I'll come visit. Plus, we can chat. Yeah.. on the phone or have a video call or.... something."

She hugs Wendy next, whose just wiping tears into her sleeve.

"My baby is a grownup."

Wilma laughs yet again.

"I'll always come visit! And bring Shawn over next time! Like hell he's avoiding his responsibilities as the middle child!"

"Thank you. And tell him I said hi if you meet him."

"I will. Go say hi on campus when you don't have too much work going on?"

I nod and she leaves out the door, saying a final bye at the door.

This little kid always pulls my heart a little bit sideways when she leaves.... and fixes it when she comes back.

"I love you, Wend."

She laughs and puts her arms around me.

"I love you too."

We kiss before the doorbell rings yet again. I take a moment and then open the door, it's Kyle.

"Happy birthday but.......... there kinda is a small maul function in the firm."

I laugh.

"What is it?"

"Our wall has a hole..... and I discovered it hosts a family of raccoons."

"Well fuck."

"Indeed."
