It was a day like any other that week.

She woke and went about her morning routine.

All seemed normal.

Or so it would seem.

When she reached work that day.

Her boss called her instantly in his office to say.

"There a story to cover."

"It's in Transylvania, and it's like no other."

The story feature.

The oldest castle there.

The odd stories of other reporters that dared go there.

She brushed off the rumors, without a care.

Straight off the plane.

She ask for the quickest way to the castle.

That's when the whispers. and nervous stares started.

She continued on, not disheartened.

Intrigued by the adventure she was about to pursue.

Never having been to this country, it was all new.

After finally flagging down a ride that would oblige.

She neared the castle, and could hardly believe her eyes.

She turned to the driver with a astonished look.

But he booked it out of there, like a bat out of hell.

She stood looking up at this magnificent castle at the top of the hill.

Taking a deep breath to help release her feeling of unease.

She banged the knocker loudly at the door.

Her anxiety quickly started to increase.

Just when she was about to reach the knocker again.

The door creaked open just a bit.

A small, black, beady, eye appeared.

"Hello, she called out "im the reporter?"

"I've come to interview?"

Only silence greeted her, feeling shunned she stood not sure what to do.

Oddly feeling the urge to run.

A deep voice commands "Come in the honors all mine."

A unnaturally tall man, with pale alabaster skin, lurked in the shadows from within.

Black neatly combed hair.

Dressed as elegantly as could be.

He grandly bowed, kissing the top of her hand.

"The pleasure is all mine, my dear."

"Come, i have much information for you to hear."

The castle inside was as dark as a tomb.

Darkness loomed in a unsettling way.

He snapped his fingers for the Butler to take away her bag.

I sincerely hope you enjoy your stay.

He smiled like the cat that ate the canary.

He stated "you will find the evening the best time for me to speak with you."

I shall always be unavailable by daylight.

You shall see, i live untraditionally.

She giggled nervously.

He smirks at her saying "have no fear."

"Soon you will feel at home here."

The butler shuffles in, with a goblet of wine for his master.

Bowing the lord of the castle states, I'll leave you to your rest."

The butler silently climbs the stairs. candle in hand, to light his way.

He nervously looks around.

And softly says, "you shouldn't stay!"
"It's safest to go by day."

"Run away while you still can."

The room was nothing grand, only furnished with a bed and table.

Unable to sleep she wanders to the balcony doors.

There on the balcony, on the next floor just below.

Is the dark lord.

Bored and her curiosity plagued, she watches thinking he doesn't know.

There he stands in the dark, his cape blowing in the windy night.

Just under the looming moon.

He holds a small black bat, stroking it, like one would a cat.

He glances up and her giving such a fright.

She catches a glimmer of light, reflecting from a shining fang.

His menacing laughter echoing through the night.

Her heart pounding in fear. she rushes for the door.

From behind, she hears a whisper in her ear, "have no fear my dear."

The dark lord has entered her room, the balcony doors open wide.

Frantically she glances around.

He looks at her, raising a brow.

"Laughing he states, "surely you know you can't hide."

She backs away, eyes wide with fear.

"He approaches "you will learn to love it here."

"Become my mistress of the night!"

She faints out of sheer fright.

She awakes to searing pain, and if all bloods been sucked from her veins.

She strains to sit up, but finds she is to weak.

She touches her neck and lets out a shriek.

There are two deep bloody wounds.

If she doesn't feed she will die soon.

Locked in her room forced to stay.

Walking the night, sleeping by day.

She longs to make him pay for what's she has become.

But Her transformation has already begun.

Her skin ghostly white.

Teeth growing at the sight of blood.

She loses a bit more of her humanity each night.

Now she will forever stay.

She lost all essence of the way she was before.

Some say if you dare pass the castle very late.

You shall catch a glimpse of the dark lord, and his mistress of the night.

Her fate was sealed the very first day she came to stay.

This is the story to tell of the castle in Transylvania that sits high up upon the hill.
