After the fiasco at the dinner place, we agreed not to leave the house again.
If it involved Chantelle finding us, then we would leave.
I sat on the couch watching TV with Mark and Jack, me cuddled with Jack.
"It seems that some girl with badly dyed blue hair has entered this restaurant, looking for someone that she supposedly wanted to kill." The reporter said. "Please keep a lookout for this girl with the horrible blue hair."
Mark shut the TV off.
"We better get to bed." Mark looked at me and Jack.
"It's only nine!" I exclaimed.
"We should get to sleep so Chantelle has no way of finding us." He said.
"We should stay up and keep guard! She already knows where we are!" I growled.
"We should go to sleep so she won't suspect us being in here!" He said angrily.
"Then the lights are going to be off and it's going to be very obvious to break into a house without lights on!" I told him, steaming.
"Y/N is right, one of us should stay up and keep guard! So we can warn each other that Chantelle is coming and make an escape before she kills both of you!" Jack exclaimed.
"Shut it, leprechaun." Mark growled at Jack, and shot a dirty look.
Mark and I started to get closer to each other, ready to continue the yelling.
Jack then stepped between us before we could say a word.
"STOP!!" He yelled.
Mark and I immediately stopped what we were doing, and looked at Jack.
"Fine, each of us can keep a lookout for Chantelle while the others sleep for an hour. We'll have shifts." Mark rolled his eyes.
"I'll take the first shift." Mark said, grabbing a gun from his safe.
"Mark, no. Let me take the first shift. You need more sleep. You've been working really hard to keep us safe." I hung my head, and took the gun from his hands.
Mark looked at me, extremely stunned.
"If you say so." He just walked past me, not even making eye contact.
"Good night?" Jack said, a unsure look on his face.
Mark responded with the slamming of his room door, making Jack flinch.
I looked at Jack.
"Goodnight, see you in an hour." Jack gave me a hug and a kiss on the forehead for confidence and luck.
"Goodnight, Sean the leprechaun." I squeezed him tight.
We released from the hug.
Before Jack walked away, he ruffled my hair and smiled at me.
I smiled back.
Jack then walked upstairs, leaving me alone in the dark, with only the light from the stove clock.
I sat down on the couch, holding the gun and cocking it.
I sat there, doing nothing.
Hearing nothing.
Seeing nothing.
But only a small light.
