Adrien had barely gotten out of Marinette's room before she woke up. He had to rush to school because, like Marinette, he was late.

Thinking back on it, he was glad he had told Nathalie he would be staying at a friend's house for a study session.

He transformation wore off as he continued his mad dash to school. He turned around and saw a very flustered and disheveled Marinette turning around the corner a few feet behind him.

Did she see?

"Adrien? What," she paused to take a deep breath. "Why are you so late?"

"Stayed up too late. You?" Adrien stopped running as Marinette jogged to catch up to him.

"I uh, I got distracted last night. We should hurry to class." The two teens blushed as they thought about what happened the night before before rushing to class.

The two slid past the door as they tried to slow down, nearly knocking each other to the ground. As luck would have it, the two collided before skidding into the wall and knocking down the mop and bucket that were leaning against it. The sound caused the class to leave the classroom to see the ruckus.

The entire class was either laughing, or were holding surprised looks on their faces as they looked at the couple.

Adrien heard Marinette groan next to him and looked down at their wet clothes. His eyes widened and he flushed as he noticed that Marinette's pale pink bra was now very visible under the soaked white shirt.

He could practically feel Nathanael and some of the other boys gawking at the sight as he leapt in front of her to cover her chest from their view.

"You okay Marinette?" She nodded and stood up, bringing Adrien up with her as he continued to stand in front of her.

"If you guys are going to be late, please don't make a ruckus while doing so." And with that Mrs. Bustier walked inside, bringing the rest of the class with her.

"Here." He gave her his button up shirt he always wore and turned away, a light pink blush covering her cheeks.

"What?"

"I-It's dry. I thought you might want it to cover up?" He heard her squeak,  and the white shirt he was holding was tugged out of his hand.

"I-I'm going to class! Bye!" When he turned around, she was already gone, sitting beside Alya, wearing his shirt. Her face was a bright red and he could hear Alya teasing her about it.

Both of their blushes intensified as he walked into the dead silent class.

"Thank you for joining us, Mr. Agreste." Mrs. Bustier said before starting class again.

Adrien couldn't have been more relieved that school was finally over. He was sick of having people staring at him with curious eyes.

He really just wanted to get out of there and transform into Chat Noir so he could visit his Princess. Speaking of which, he was currently staring at her.

Kind of stalking, but who cares? He began to walk up, trying to catch up to her before she crossed the street.

"Marinette wait!"

The girl heard his voice and tried to hurry across the street, deserting Alya. Adrien saw a speeding car coming her way, and she didn't even notice.

"Marinette!" His body reacted quickly, his muscles contracting as he dashed forward. His hands came in contact with her shoulders as he pushed her out of the way. He watched her wide bluebell eyes stare at him as she turned.

It seemed like slow motion for him. Her body turned as she jerked to see who pushed her and as he watched them widen, he prepared for impact, shutting his eyes tightly.

That is until he felt a smaller hand wrap around his wrist and yanking him forward. His summer grass green eyes snapped open in surprise as he stared at Marinette and everything went back to a normal pace.

She pulled him towards her and they both fell onto the sidewalk, Adrien landing on top of Marinette. The car zoomed past them at a racing speed and Alya ran across the street.

"Marinette! Adrien! Are you okay?!" Alya asked worriedly as she helped them both up. Adrien saw Gorilla making his way towards the trio and quickly stepped in front of the two girls.

"Hello Gorilla." He received a grunt in response and sighed, his face dropping.

"I'll see you guys later. And please be more careful Marinette." Marinette stuttered a yes behind him as he made his way to his limo, where Nathalie was waiting.

"How could you do something so reckless, Adrien?" Was the first thing Nathalie said to him as he sat in the limo.

"What did you want me to do? Let her get hit?"

"Yes! She is not our responsibility Adrien! She made her choice to walk in that street without paying attention. Our responsibility is not with her, but you. So we don't care about her."

Adrien looked at Nathalie with an incredulous look.

"How could you say that? She's my friend! I love her-" he cut himself off as he listened to what he said. He saw Nathalie's eyes widen a little in surprise.

"You love her? Don't be ridiculous Adrien. You're too young to know anything about love. Be grateful I don't tell your father about this. He could easily ban you from seeing this girl you claim you love." Adrien frowned at her statement and shut up, placing his head on the window.

This is so unfair... She can't just keep me from Mari... And she can't expect me to let her get hurt or die on my watch.

I can't lose her too...

Early chapter for ya.

QOTC: Who is a family member you feel really close to?

AOTC: My cousin Austin. Every time I'm sad or angry, he's there to cheer me up. He's also fun to wrestle with!
