Surprisingly, it did. It was like a different cat all together was hiding under Thistleblaze's tabby pelt. Fetching prey for Heartsong, playing with the newest litter of kits in the nursery (though to be fair, they where his own mate's), and even playing nice with Darkfrost!

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather at the Highrock!" Featherstar's strong voice rang through the forest.

"Runningkit, come forward. You have reached the age of six moons, therefore it time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you have received your warrior name, you shall be known as Runningpaw. Your mentor shall be Maplegaze. I hope Maplegaze will pass all she knows down to you.

"Maplegaze, you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from Firefeather, and you have shown your\self to be strong and wise. You will be the mentor of Runningpaw, and I expect you to pass all that you know down to her."

Maplegaze happily ran up to touch noses with Runningkit. The brown she-cat grinned up at her and said, "I'm so happy that your my mentor. I could have gotten a scary mentor, like Darkfrost, or Fleetfoot."

"Fleetfoot's not so bad. You just have to get on her good side, spend some time with her, and not be a bee-brain around her so she doesn't make you do dawn patrols for a moon."

"Yeah, see? Scary!"

After Stonepaw had been apprenticed to Cherrymoon, he and Runningpaw exchanged glances that clearly said-"Phew!"

"Runningpaw! Stonepaw!" The Clan cried.

"Four new warriors, and two new apprentices." Featherstar called. "Let us thank StarClan for this wonderful greenleaf.

"Hey Maplegaze, can we go to the lake yet? I really  want to catch a fish. Please, please , please?" A voice whined behind her.

"Huh? Oh, Runningpaw, where did you get that idea from? Catching fish? You've only been an apprentice for half a day! We can go tomorrow."

"We can? Okay! Can Stonepaw come too? He wants to see the lake like me."

"I can ask Cherrymoon, but he can only come if she says yes."

"Yippe! I'm gonna catch a fish, just you wait!" She cried to now one in particular.

"I'm not so sure about that part." Maplegaze laughed. "We don't want to pull you out from the bottom of the lake."

"The bottom of the lake?" Runningpaw said in a whisper. "Oh boy! I can't wait!"

"Was I this excited about a simple trip to the lake when I was an apprentice?" She asked her mother who had ran down to join her.

"Oh, I'm sure you where." Flowerpelt's silver fur gleamed in the fading light. "In fact, you kept all the 'paws up one night, going on about how quickly you would become a warrior.

"I still need to figure out what that dream is about," Maplegaze thought to herself as she lay curled up in the warriors den. "It seems too important to forget. And deep down I feel that this will one day effect every Clan."
