He responded with a humble nod, ducking a bit while licking crumbs from his lips.

Cypher hadn't felt this elation in a while. A lovely picnic, on a lovely sunny day.

But she couldn't help the slight falter in her mood, once looking over at the 6 foot tall, darkly-clad, stone faced hunter.
Something about how he was so determined on whatever took place in the distance just bothered her. Then again, the most he would do in public is stop and stare.

"..Mads?"

"Huh?"

"D-Do you.. care about me?"

His eyebrow jolted ever so slightly, "That has to be questioned?"

Cypher flushed with embarrassment. "Oh, I.. I only asked because of how you are... n-not saying that there's a problem with the way you are or anything! I-It's just.. oh, don't worry about it..."

"No. It's good that we talk," he positioned himself in front of her so that it was better to hear her, "but I'm assuming you're asking if I care due to how I behave? Like a lack of PDA and things of that nature?"

She bit her lip, nodding.

Maddox sighed quietly, leaning down and reaching out to cup Cypher's chin. "To be completely honest with you, I've noticed it myself. I'm severely lacking in those departments, mainly because it's been a while since I've really cared for anyone-- especially someone I've decided to get romantically involved with. But I don't ever want you to think that means I don't care. I'm just not that big on lovey-dovey stuff out in public. In fact I'd rather kiss you at home where I have you all to myself.. hell, half the time you catch me zoning out into space, it's you in my thoughts. It's not apathy, sweetpea. I'm in awe."

It was Cypher's turn to be speechless. She looked up into his eyes, shining with intensity much like the previous statement.

Maddox couldn't help but smile along with the shade of red he started turning, pressing his lips against hers. Pulling away, he decided to switch over so that she could cuddle close into his arm. "What happened to not being big on lovey dovey stuff, huh?"

"Just 'cause it's not my cup of tea doesn't mean I won't drink it every once in a while..~"
