It was a warm summers night at the midst of July. There was not a cloud in the sky. All the stars were out to meet them..

Fuck...they had been partying since 11pm. It was now 4am.

The club's staff were starting to push people out the door. Kali had no where to stay…

"Come on Hun, you can crash at mine, Tyler is driving us back.."
Lucy was not giving her a choice.

"Come on then, let's go back and make the most of the rest of the night!”

"Lucy...Im not holding back tonight, I've not been out like this for ages, I aint got "him" controlling me no more!” Kali confirmed..

Kali's wild side was surfacing and Tyler picked up on it instantaneously..

“Fuck, don't tell me that Kal, it's strange you being single and fiesty again, sound like you not holding back...” Tyler suggested, grinning at Kali with a wink..

“Ugh, shut up Bro and get us home! Kali sit upfront, I can lie down then and ignore that Asshole” Lucy was pretty drunk...

Kali and Lucy had been friends for years it was a regular thing for them to crash back at Lucy's. Kali even had her own draw, she stayed so often over Lucy's it was like her home from home.

The draw contained essentials; toiletries, spare charger, change of clothes, a USB stick, a stack of old C.D's and DVDs her and Lucy had made on the computer as teens. Every now and then they would put them on and dance to their old party anthems. The DVDs were always in use as Lucy and Kali loved a good movie to fall asleep too, after partying away all night long.
Kali was in a bad way..

Just a month ago her life was perfectly happy. She had a beautiful home. Designed and built by her and the other half themselves. They were both in the right fields to build a home from scratch. Him being a builder and electrican and Kali being a interior designer and hospitality manager, they had utilized their skills to further their relationship. He built it from scratch and she decorated it all, even down to the bathroom tiles.
She would never forget the day they moved in, she was so worried about how the Bulldog would settle being such a temperamental mind. Charlie took to her new surroundings straight away though and so did they.

Many nights spent laughing at the tv, at each other. Furniture came and went, but they stayed. Whenever or whatever they were doing they did it together, alongside their little Bully. Happy as could be..yes there was arguments but it would always end in them dancing together on the kitchen tiles, laughing at how foolish they had been.
It was a perfect balance, one never stood on the others toes, too much or too little. Work was hard for both, so evenings were always bliss.

Sadly it all started crumbling after the Bulldog died. Charlie sadly had a very bad night. Unexpected and shockingly it all happened during a normal night in. The couple were sitting on the sofa as always when Charlie suddenly turned..out of nowhere she started barking and scratching her face with her claws in frustration.
The couple sprung to attention trying to aid Charlie's behavior so the poor Bully would not hurt herself anymore that what she had. Charlie finally stopped with her paws. Painfully she chose to start charging into the surrounding furniture whilst wetting herself uncontrollably.

Eventually by the morning Charlie has giving up physically but mentally you could see she was still battling whatever force had taken her over.

They were in the vets the moment it opened, they were informed Charlie had suffered a brain embolism. She was put to sleep there and then.
No time to say goodbye...

That was the start of the end...two years later, twelve years into their relationship, they both parted ways.
It was done so coldly. So quickly. Neither had time to process but just accept the inevitability that they had killed any love, trust and respect they had built over a decade of time.

The night he had not come home till 4am. That was the final straw, Kali knew he was with another woman. He didn't even deny it. That was the last thing she would have said he could do; after twelve years of love and loyalty there was not a snowball's chance in hell. It was clear to them both, she could not forgive him

At the present this had sent Kali down a bad road.

Tyler and Lucy were her only hope of retaining control....

Tyler was always a safe driver no matter how late it was, he always guaranteed them home safely and in one piece.
Kali would never admit it but she loved being in his car. He always played her favourite tunes, they both loved the same Rap God and had been obsessed for as long as they could remember. It was a bond they both were very proud to have that only they could understand and share.

Tonight was different though..

Kali kept feeling Tylers eyes drawing to her sitting next to him whilst he drove. She assumed he was checking to see if she was still awake, as Lucy had passed out on the back seat. At one point, she saw Tyler's big brown eyes were looking at her, with what she thought was lust...Tyler then confirmed it when he squeezed her thigh gently, as they pulled into the drive.

Kali dismissed it as playful fun and the night continued on a positive note.
She felt Tyler watching her and confirmed it several times catching his eye contact, more than a few times.

There was no smoking indoors, ever. This allowed a small portion of the garden to be known as "smoking area"

Kali was gasping by now, luckily for her, Tyler must have picked up as he commented on her unease.

"Smoke or what Kal? I have one here, if your too drunk to Roll Babe?" He gestured at her by pointing at it carefully tucked away safely behind his ear.

"Haha, Ty I could Roll on a motorbike and do my makeup the same time!" She snapped back confidently.

"Well lets go Baby!" He did a humorous wiggle of his hips and strutted out the back like Elvis Presley would...
