Chapter 26

Elizabeth's POV

 I wake up from my super long nap to find Bruce finally asleep. The sight of him asleep relieves me. I'm careful to stay quiet and not wake him. He nearly killed himself over the past few days to make sure I was okay. I'm not okay entirely but I'm getting better. I see Steve out in the hallway and smile at him. He returns my smile and quietly comes into the room. "Steve, it's good to see you. How are you?" "I'm doing okay, just worried about you little lady. Everyone has been worrying about you." I blush slightly. "I'm flattered but thank you. I'm still feeling kind of crappy but less crappy than I was a few days ago. My doctor told me I can leave in a couple of days but I'm still on bed rest for a few days after I leave the med bay."

   I sigh. "I miss being at work with Bruce and Tony, spending long hours the lab. It feels like home to me. Well that and Bruce's room. He actually asked me to move in once I'm better. I've been on the phone a couple times with my landlord today who happily agreed to cut my lease short so I can make that possible. I have to pack everything up within a few days though which is a bit stressful. I'm sure Bruce will help me as well some other Avengers." Steve nods. "I'm more than happy to help. I think I manage to recruit Nat and Wanda too." I smile softly. "Thank you Steve." 

   Him and I talk for another hour or so until Bruce wakes up. I watch him stir a bit as he wakes up. He blinks quite a bit and makes eye contact with me afterwards. I giggle a bit but smile at him with nothing but love. "About time you slept Bruce. How'd you sleep?" He scratches the back of his neck. "I was out like a light for the first time in days." He turns to Steve. "Hey Steve, thanks for keeping her company." Steve smiles. "No problem Bruce. I know she's moving in with you soon so congrats. I offered to help you and her with the move. I'm going to recruit Wanda and Nat too since they've grown quite close with Liz here."

  Bruce beams at me. "Who can blame them? She's pretty damn amazing." Steve nods in agreement and gives me a friendly hug before leaving the room to give Bruce and I some privacy. "Bruce, you can sleep soundly now. I get to leave in a couple days. I mean I'll be on bed rest for a few days afterwards but it's only a week really before I'm back to work." Bruce gently climbs into my bed and cuddles with me. "I can't wait Liz. We'll be living together very soon and it's going to be amazing. We're going to start a future together, hopefully which will lead to marriage one day." 

    I smile at him. "My landlord is giving me two weeks to move out. I'm on bedrest for the first week almost so you'll have to start off moving stuff out with Steve, Nat, and Wanda. I'll move whatever else is left once I'm cleared to work again, which is in a week's time roughly." Bruce spoons me gently, almost to the point where I fall asleep. "Don't worry your pretty little head Liz, I'm here for you. The other Avengers are here for you too. Everything is going to fall into place for us... for you. Okay?" I yawn and smile. "Okay." That's the last thing I say before I drift back off to sleep once again.
